Siyeon doesn't need a microphone and she has complete control of her voice, so much so that she is well known for her ability to perfectly mimic the voices and singing styles of other Kpop stars. Sure, she can shatter a glass at 100 paces, but she can also sing so softly and sweetly that your heart breaks. She would have been a huge star in the days before electricity. She's always loved rock music and was the vocalist of a band when she was in high school, which is very unusual for a Korean.

The belter is Lee Siyeon. She is the main vocal and yes many people have said her vocal technique and range is amazing. You should react to her special clip Speechless, or her live performance of a rock vocal version of exo's overdose. She has a solo single called Paradise. And yes, she always had that expression while performing. The fandom says she has the gaze of a wolf and she started calling herself a wolf too lol but off stage she is just dorky and cute and extremely extra and weird lol

Yes, Siyeon has a very intense gaze. That’s partly why she got the nickname “Wolf”. When she’s not performing, she’s not nearly as intimidating and quite goofy herself.

I just love Dami. Her voice is unique, but something about it and her appearance just attracts me.
The one keeps goofing around is Yoohyeon. The belter is Siyeon, and about her expression you ask, it's only when she's performing, usually she's also a goofball.

All Dreamcatcher members have good vocals, including the Chinese member that is currently still stuck there coz of the pandemic going on. Of course, there are a few members where their vocals definitely stand out more than others. Personally I feel all the members each have their own unique colors and characters to their voices.
The girls have a ton of content on their official youtube channel, ranging from covers, units to solo projects. You'll definitely be set for a few months worth of reaction videos to make. Lol!

Funny that you should mention that the group seems really goofy, because the goofiest member, Sua (shirt with collar, soft vocals), is unusually serious here, so much so that it's almost unnerving if you know how wacky she normally is. I stan this group as much for how hilarious they are as I do for how crazy good their music and dancing are.
I just get destroyed by Siyeon's vocals every time i hear Boca. I would love to see you reacting to live radio performances of Deja Vu, Piri and Scream where you can hear 100% their insane vocals. After watching the original several times because Siyeon's high note almost brings me to tears it is so beautiful, and I enjoy your discussion of it, I noticed something...
While it is indeed a live recording, it was recorded six times then stitched together... they recorded each member in the same place, i.e. at 5:27 in this video note how Jiu and Gahyeon have the exact same background.

dreamcatcher 'special clips' are where you really get to know them. just because of the genre, their title tracks don't always showcase their vocals.
Dami is my favorite and I particularly think she has improved a lot on vocals and not just on rap. And Siyeon always enchants me with her powerful vocals.

Great you interrupted your chronological journey with this video, I love it so much. It emphasizes both their vocals and their goofiness 😍.
I feel the earlier songs (until Deja Vu) focus on Siyeon-JiU-Yoohyeon for both lines and visuals, its such a solid trio. Dami got mostly rap parts, SuA was mainly considered a dancer at first and Gahyeon and Handong had relatively small parts. Sad Handong isn't with them, until her "holding this pain" imo she didn't really got to show her potential. Gahyeon grew so much, she first got a rap part in Piri, that was such a surprise if you didn't see the later stuff yet. She was just the cute little maknae. Again in Scream and in Boca she really shines. She looks so happy and confident, I fear she has been struggling (with weight and confidence) a lot until now.
Now the whole group bursts with talent and somehow they now manage to make everyone shine.
They do use backing track but they don't relay that much on it. If you hear their MR removed videos you can see how good performers they are being able to do both. Not all videos sound excellent in the vocal part (some of their lives are not that great after 3 weeks promoting show after show, you can tell they are exhausted) but you won't find lipsync or terrible vocals.

Honestly, even with the dance, they sound the sameee live. Just a little more backtrack for support. The girl you liked the most is Siyeon, who is the main singer. You can check out her solo song Paradise, also her covers like Speechless, We All Lie, Faded, Overdose (live), etc. The other two "main/lead" vocalists are Yoohyeon (the one goofing around), and JiU. From Yoohyeon, who is my bias cause I just love her voice, you can check out her cover of Perfect, Secret Love Song, and other special clips from the group. JiU is the leader, shes a great dancer and has a amazing voice too, PLEASE listen to her cover called Honesty. From SuA, who is the main dancer and sings the first part of the bridge, she has amazing vocals and I personally like her voice in their cover There's Nothing Holding me Back, and in their ost for a game called R.o.S.E BLUE. There's also a cover she did of the song Copycat. From all the girls, I recommend listening to Deja Vu, What, Full Moon, Lullaby, Mayday, Wonderland, July 7th, Diamond, Breaking Out (is in japanese), And There's No one left, In The Frozen, Red Sun, BLACK OR WHITE IS A MUST, Jazz Bar, Silent Night, and their new songs Break The Wall and Can't Get You Out Of My Mind.

I'm a new Insomnia also after saw this live video. I know vocals, and Siyeon here, the main vocalist has a remarkable skills indeed. You can see her singing on a program called King of masked singer, she sang Greatest love of all by Whitney but she lost. Dunno why even she was better than her competitor. Her vocal control was so great when she goes from p to f and p again, her belting, etc. Her vocal are the top 10 on kpop gg i guess. Check that out!

i remembered reading a comment in dreamcatcher video, saying that siyeon is not a best vocalist in kpop because the technique she uses in singing is wrong and can cause damaged to her voice.. (i totally have zero knowledge in vocals) it's weird because so far i watched everyone with music/vocal background praise her vocals and you also said she's using a good vocal technique.. hearing these, i know she is an excellent singer..
they have done two more videos of this format before in other eras but they are from "dingo music" channel. there is a "fly high" live singing and "you and i" one.

Siyeon and Yoohyeon participated to V1 idol group vocal competition and out of 24 contenters Siyeon came second. IIRC in idol house DC members were put against each others to produce the highest possible note; Sua won, Dami(!) was second and Siyeon came third. Even though this was just a playful competition, it peoved Siyeon can produce very high notes. Dami was total surprise!

I'm surprised to hear you say that a lot of K-pop groups lip sync. I only really stan groups that are known for their vocals so I don't see a lot of that. I've heard some music shows make the artists lip sync but I don't know which ones.
