I didn’t have a dog in this hunt, but FSU should have carried the refs off the field on their shoulders after the game. Arguably the worst officiated college game I ever saw. The whole season was basically a campaign to award Bowden a coaching lifetime achievement award, aka the natty. I believe it’s the only time that the #2 team in the final poll had beaten the #1 team. The head to head precedent (correctly) used in ‘89 between the Canes and ND didn’t apply here
Replace Bowden and FSU in 1993 with Saban and Alabama in these last couple of seasons. If it weren’t for the SEC dominance storyline crap Saban wouldn’t have nearly as many trophies.

The National College Football Media were practically falling over themselves to get Bowden a Championship by 1992, and since Miami and Florida had won, they basically gave it to FSU.

They lost to BC who was ranked lower. Both teams had one loss, FS's loss was better.
