I just to live in dodge city and never clean the roads. just 500 hwy because they need truckers to be on time on meat packing plants. cargill and national beef. otherwise not even main hwy. vhp454 you are wrong 🤦🏻to many people and i my self and my family have a very good tires but when is a very very bad and strong winter storm not even a 4x4 works in the heavy snow i have 4x4 and a very good tires and i can't go true a road with to many snow my brother is a truck driver and his big truck and he have to many cows on his truck and sometimes hi can't make it like other drivers my brother have one a very big accident because the heavy snow in the roads now you think that a carr or a truck 4x4 is going to make it no some carrs make it some don't make it at all😒 like the school buses that stop in the corner from my house one of them stocked in the snow till some people come to help it get it out pull it with a big chain in Dodge when is snowing is better to stay in the house 🤷🏻

I have to go out in the weather everyday cause i repair tractor trailers on the interstate. No, only certain roads and Semi's even have chain stipulations in Alaska. Kansas has these snows and in a couple days it is melted. 2-20-2020, temps in the high 60's and 70's.
Meanwhile in Atlanta we had 2" of snow in 2018 and saw two Subaru back to back off in the ditch while I was in a prius at the time not having a single issue lmao. How bout them Subaru head gaskets though.
In Canada, most of the vechicles are suv, trucks, have only 4x4 option. Don't have to many 2wds in those. The US seems to have a lot of 2wd/4x4 options in the same vechicles. So when they get any slippery roads, snow slush, ice. This is all you see lol.
Need snow tires no matter you have 4WD or AWD! I have AWD with snow tires, most vehicles got stuck but mine went thru, without any problem. BTW, you need all 4 winter tires not just two winter tires.

I lived in KC area for 5 years. You don't need 4WD with a pickup there. Just need some weight in the back and a set all season truck tires.

It also helps to know how to drive. Forecasting the road ahead helps massively and turning off traction controls. That crap only hurts

A set of snow tires is so much cheaper than getting a 4wd vehicle or paying insurance deductibles for crashes.
Ender my lady drives a FWD traverse with blizzaks and does just fine in these slippery conditions. She stays home during the snow storms/blizzards.
