@@jjstangeland No chains/studs would rip the roads apart. Not only that you can only go 15-20 mph max with chains on. All these trucks and cars were going to fast for conditions. Once conditions get to the point where you can’t maintain a speed of 45 mph or higher you need to get off the road. People will start running into each other at that point.

I've been a retired truck driver since 2009. I thought 40 years of that career was enough for me. 11 years ago we moved to Florida. When I went to the Florida DMV to change my license over from Killinois they ask me if Iwanted to grandfather my Killinois CDL To my new Florida license the answer was simple NO WAY . All I can say is we old guys paid our dues on dangerous highways with white outs, freezing rain, black ice. So I'll leave it to a younger truck driver these days. Yes Swift Transportation is one of the most dangerous companies on the highway. But I don't condem all rookies. Believe it or not alot of these Rookies pay attention and want to do the job correctly. I salute these young men and women. We all had to learn and in the old days you learned and you learned quickly. To all the newbies that want to learn the correct way to operate a commercial motor vehicle my hats off to you. For those who think that they know everything about trucking should get out of trucking now. Geo Camp 🇺🇸 USA

I can see that the snow or ice is melting. If a new cold front comes in, that will mean that that wet roadways will be like driving on black ice, and that is when the roads are most deadly! People need to keep this in mind because when the wet highways freeze that's when the black ice is there! Driving on those roads could be most deadly at that time!!

to those that think the first truck got away scott free, you have never hauled a load in one of those trucks. what ever he was hauling no matter how well it was secured, for sure was effed up. unless he was hauling pillows and mattresses, then he good.
