Jungkook harmonizing is everything! (Next to jimin’s high note) and Jin is second to stability, imo. They are all amazing but I have to agree...jungkook is the main vocalist for a damn good reason!

I like these kinds of performances cos their vocals aren't hindered like they don't need to focus so much on breath control cos they're not dancing..

JK is live king ,when you saw them concert JK's voice is so powerful and full of energy!
You'll be amazed to see JK and J-hope during concerts. These 2 doesn't rely on backing track and they're both stable. They sound like the recording or even better.
These songs are OLD SCHOOL BTS you don't know what you missing until u get into their back catalogue and B-side's. Fun fact literally all their albums have been charting on the main Korean album charts for months now.

jungkook kills it singing live, his stability is insane, especially while dancing. he's very good at harmonizing too as we saw in this video. react to his begin live performance, u won't regret it!
Quick (long) cheat sheet on the vocal line:
Jin: very bright, forward sound. His voice resonates in his nasal/sinus area. It's a nasal tone, but not in a negative way.
Jimin: very light, high tone. His voice resonates in the top of his head. Great falsetto.
V: darker, richer, rounded tone. His voice resonates in his throat. It's not a "deeper" voice in terms of pitch, but rather a deeper tone.
JK: very strong, stable tone. He has the ability to manipulate and vary his voice quality to match the style of a song and to match the tone of the person he is harmonizing with. He is the king of harmonies and ad-libs. He can actually be the hardest to pinpoint at first because he is so diverse.
What I love about the vocal line is that they each have their own unique flavor.

mostly fantastic descriptions of their voices! I usually don't see fans write accurate descriptions like this.
though personally I feel JK's voice can be the hardest to spot not because it's versatile in style (I actually think Jin and V have the more versatile voices), but because it's like... perfectly vanilla. perfectly blendable. he never stands out too much in a group. his tone is so smooth and based so perfectly in the center of his head that in the end it has no immediately defining qualities.
and LOL before I get shanked for this comment, this is NOT a bad thing!! his voice is a choir director's *dream* (I repeatedly got told off for standing out too much in choir) and it's also why he is *always* the one who does background vocals and harmonies; he blends so beautifully without distracting from the other person who is singing or rapping. blending in is a precious skill for a singer to have, and his natural tone makes him... well, a natural.
other random thoughts:
- thank you for noting that a nasal tone is not inherently a bad thing. Jin's bright, silvery tone is gorgeous; he's my personal favorite.
- you're the first person I've seen who has pointed out that V's range isn't actually *that* deep. I'd hesitate to even call him a true baritone, though to be fair, I'm not sure we know his full lower range seeing as he's usually forcing himself up into a falsetto (and I wish he wouldn't; his voice in Singularity, for example, is so much more beautiful than it is in, say, Stigma).
- Jin and V have larger ranges; JK and Jimin are restricted to a higher range.
- JK and Jin are more vocally stable while moving and dancing; Jimin and V have unique textures and timbres to their voices that catch a lot of fans' and critics' attention (including mine!).
and of course, I agree with you that ALL the vocalists are highly talented and that it's a joy how diverse their voices are. they all have even more potential to explore.
Yes to all of this (including the comments)! It's funny though, how you call JK the king of ad-libs. I personally noticed mainly *Jimin* as the vocal ad-libs. I think it goes back and forth quite a bit tho.
@@Son9 frankly none of them ad lib very much in comparison to other artists in the industry whose main strength are vocals. I wouldn't call any of them a "king" hahaha.
I agree that Jimin goes for them more often on tour (but not on TV), though he doesn't always nail them; JK is more conservative bc he wants to be sure they'll land. V goes for one every now and then with varying results. Jin NEVER tries to ad lib, haha. I've never seen a single instance of it.
within BTS, the rappers ad lib the most by far, and are incredible at it. NOT ALL RAPPERS ARE!!!
Can someone tell me how to describe RM's voice, my ears love his voice so much..it feels full??? my English is limited to describe how I feel about his voice, though I saw comment on Twitter that described his voice as 'round', I don't even know what that means.
Hey Kito, that was Nas on Jhope shirt. Another artist Jhope looked up too. He owns quite a few Nas shirts I think. Idk if you remember but he actually mentioned Nas along with Biggie and Tupac in their song Hip Hop Lover during his verse

@@herlianne but it wasn't a live version, only audio with lyrics, but imo BTS is always better live :-) I love watching them performing and Hip Hop Lover is excellent live, the rap line is lit, and the vocal line is also amazing :-)
@@uvayakone9281 yes and omg u dont know how many times I requested live version to kito by DM, comment on video or live, even I gave the link in my comments but seems like he didn't read. He mostly do the reactions from requests on his patreon..
But on live I am kinda satisfied because they understand and praise the rap line for the effort to study the culture not only immitate the swag or only try to looke like (fake) rapper.
@Ester Santos kito has some live reactions and when on live, army ask to react HHL so they reacted right away..

This is absolutely one of my faves. They were sooooo chill, and it showed us the posibility of having a BTS unplugged session.
If you want to know the translations of what they're singing, there are some lyric videos/translations on youtube which are reliable enough. They usually use the studio version of the songs, so it's all good. This session is cool, but the studio versions of these 3 songs are also good.

7:30 If I remember correctly, some of the members aren't feeling well at the time. But they need to go live because this was an armypedia event. I noticed too that they werent as lively as they usually would even for a sit down talk and singing. You can tell by their body langauge idk like the energy of some of the member. But I appreciate the chill moment that is just focus on their vocals. In the end of this talk though it was back to fun and their lively self again. So its all well. 😊

There’s 3 versions of “I like it” and they’re all amazing. I like it, I like it (slow jam version) and I like it pt 2... BTs has a ton of great r&b style tracks that weren’t singles. You should check out Dead Leaves (produced by Suga), Love is Not Over- full version (JKs first stab at producing and one of my fav bts songs), and outro: does that make sense? (Its a vocal line only killer r&b track)
Their characteristic is amazing, you must know about them from their each habit

These acoustic versions are so cool and really showcase what great vocalists they are. These are older songs that I really miss....seems they enjoy performing them too! This was a "for ARMY" event and they asked us what we wanted to hear. I love seeing them so relaxed and enjoying their music.
They also filmed Suga cam on this show! You will love it trust me. The camera had to stay on suga during the song so they had to chase him to stay in camera, still sounded amazing while doing it.

Been waiting for you to find Amrypedia for a while. Their live internet performance was one of many free gifts BTS does for Army every year. This is one of my favorites as it is as pure as it gets, no screaming fans, no army bombs, no massive production. We simply are treated to the boys and can see the personalities and the love of each one individually. And, for me, I can't even describe JK because he was that good.

I remember when just one day came out and everyone was so surprised. It showed what else bts could do back then cause if you don't know bts started out as a hip hop group then expanded in to their own but just one day was the was one of the firsts songs where you could here the rap line and vocal line separately. Just one day is a beautiful song and army's will remember it forever, especially the song that showed what bts had stored in themselves besides being hip hop. Just one day is bts's oldies but will never be forgotten
