I agree with you! I'm 64. I changed my watch goals to 15000 steps, 150 active minutes, 20 each "counter pushups", squats, and 30 lb kettlebell. The discipline has been great, as you said ... and so have the results! My legs and arms are so much stronger. I can fling my cast iron skillet and get up off the floor much more easily. Keep up the good work!! Pressing the "start" button is the hardest part 💞. Great job!
I have been using waterbottles for weight. $3.50 for a 24 pack of 16 oz bottles. Easy to load, and if you get thirsty just grab one out of the pack and drink.
@@CarnivorousChef I bought 50 lbs of pea gravel for less than 10 dollars about a year ago and put it inside a couple of garbage bags and then inside the duffel. I got the idea when I got mad at Planet Fitness for having shortened hours after the covid stuff, and canceled my membership after about 8 years. I watched some videos on making your own gym equipment.
What about just wearing it while you work? The added bonus is that people have to move way far around you in the kitchen when you're wearing it. Two birds, one stone.
That's so awesome! You gave me something to look forward to doing. I can't walk right now. My knees and feet barely hold me so extra walking is not an option.... For now .. yup doing this this summer come hell or high water ! Thanks for sharing this!
Kelly Hogan recently talked about a study that says we can literally “grow” the front portion of our brain which gives us fortitude to do things when we do things we don’t want to do… It is pretty amazing!
Yeah, she probably heard that from an Andrew Huberman episode where he was talking to David Goggins. Essentially that area of our brain grows whenever we do something we don't like and atrophies when we are too comfortable
Hey man, great job sticking to it! How do you like rucking? Do you think you'll stick with it? If you do plan on doing so, I highly encourage you to look at getting a rucksack built specifically for rucking. A purpose built rucksack will allow you to keep the weight higher, and tighter to your back, which is much more comfortable over longer durations, and will help keep your posture in a correct position. I got a GoRuck bag a little over a year ago because I wanted a way to train for SAR without having to carry my 24 hour pack, which always starts conversations (which are nice, but I'm trying to keep moving!), and is also ridiculously big. I know that there are other rucksack makers out there, GoRuck is just the one I went with. Anyway, thanks for the video!
Twenty # is about the average weight of a full gear of backpacking. So, good for you. Water weighs 8# a gallon, so that’s an option, too. Find some hills to go up.
I've actually thought about doing this, but I didn't know what it was called or even that it's actually a thing. 🤯 I'm gonna try to do it when the weather warms up. I'm planning on hiking this summer anyway so adding weights to my bug out bag and wearing it while hiking might be a good idea 💡
I'd never heard of rucking before. Good job sticking with it. I'm proud of you. And of course, you being a chef, you'd fill your backpack with food. Great idea.
@@CarnivorousChef carrying carbs on your back while getting rid of the ones in your body, sort of a big FU to what got you to where you are. Nicely done. What was the final weight of the pack? Will you continue?
No idea this was called rucking so thank you for your video. I used to fill my pack with some heavy encyclopedias or dictionary’s or random household objects 🥲 rice is probably more comfy route. Thanks 🥩
@@CarnivorousChef Wow! I live in Nigeria and there is sand everywhere. All types of sand - beach sand, regular dirt sand, soil, etc, and except I'm taking construction-load quantities, no one cares. It would never have occured to me that there's a restriction on sand. Rice packs is a good alternative though, and you hit your goal and that's what matters. Go you!
There's something poetic about a carnivore dieter finding a way to incorporate rice into their health goals. Nice work!
I can't remember where I saw it written but "a satisfying life is a disciplined life"

Thank you so much!
Great job Brutha! That is a huge commitment, and you completed it like a champ. You should be very proud of yourself.
Appreciate it

Actually a great idea!
Pea gravel is cheap and heavy, and it doesn't hurt like big rocks or bricks.
I wouldn't have thought of that in 10 years

I am so happy for you. I am on my rucking journey as well, and let me tell you… it’s a life SAVER, literally
Never hear of that term. Thanks for the explanation. Sounds tough. Congratulations on completing 100 minutes!

Rucking is alot fun you get outdoors & luv it.. Great for core back & leg strength
Rogue make bag about $30 fill w sand when you ready for it
Bro i was looking up rucking videos I cant believe I ran into your video. I remember recording out of you shed back around 2011 hahaha
Damn man 😂 hope things have been good
Good job 👏🏻
Thanks 😁
You are my hero!!
And I will buy your recipe book when I have a kitchen :)

Amazing job man! keep it up :)
Thanks, will do!
Well done Chef!!
I know you're on your feet a LOT for work, etc.. But just wondering how the rucking & extra weight impacted your lower back (if at all). ?
Great job so proud of you!!
Thank you!
Wow! You did a fantastic job! Kudos!!
Thank you so much!
WELL DONE!
Thanks!
Any thoughts after this?
Do you lift? Did it make it easier at the gym?
Did you accomplish your goals? Would ya do anything differently?

Rucking😅😂😂
What'd you see? 👀

Indeed ;) it was rice or flour. Rice sounded less messy

I didn't have the motivation to do it either. I just did it

Keep it up. You are inspiring others, including myself.
I got a 40 pound weighted vest I would use for rucking, people would always look at me. I guess I sorta look like a cop wearing 1.
Inspiring.
Thanks!
I like this idea but I can say a quality pack does make a huge difference in how it distributes the weight
Bravo! Way to do hard!
Thank you!
Excited to see the better version of you!
Good for you 😊👏👏👏 nice
Thank you! 😃

How much weight have u lost? Starting ur challenges
I lost 7lb during this rucking challenge
Rucking builds muscle
You are such and interesting person
Good job
Thanks!
Blessed be His Holy Name. 🙏
Now do 365 days, then two years, and so on.🎉🎉🎉
I didn't hear you say you had any physical benefits. Did you lose weight, gain muscle? Are you still doing this in any way?
How much weight have you lost on carnivore?
You should try tennis
Lol, that is a lot of weight all of a sudden!
😀

Why not just put sand - it's free and heavier
I don't know where you're getting free sand, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal at the beaches near me
