I don't think we will see Petracca back on 360 anytime soon.
Yeah because he is a princess
@dazza8389 ended up in ICU and the playing group cried because he took a break. I'd leave too
@@alisterturley-sunderland3872 I lost a kidney in local footy missed 6wks came back & all the boys said I was soft & harden up LMAO farken love those blokes
Robboo deliberately burned a bridge for some clicks. Lets remember who the star talent is, and who the washed up journalist is.
If cares so much about "Brand Petracca" he will.
Let's see how relevant he stays when he's not getting airtime
Near-death experiences can have a profound impact on a person. That shouldn’t be underestimated, because it seems like Petracca has re-evaluated both his life and his career during this time. He has a contract, but you can’t expect him to stay at Melbourne for 5 more years if he is going to be miserable the whole time.
Agreed.
Stuff him. A man is only as good as his word. He is having a sook to the highest order. This is elite sport. It doesn’t always go your way.
Then he should leave football and stick to his social media " Brand Petracca" bullcrap
@@linkvagar2336 did he actually say those words?
Was quite happy to sign the contract, I’d stick him in the 2’s… see how that impacts his brand
Robbo, when are you out of contract?
😂😂
Who wood give him a contract@@sedatkaratas55
😂😂😂
He's got five years - sounds like a prison sentence.
All players sign contracts. He is in no different position.
@@Lee-cc9jfhow many current players can say they got sent back out on the ground with life threatening injuries?
@@lucditton6241 The AFL investigation cleared the Melbourne Doctors of any wrong doing. Sometimes you just can't spit the dummy over genuine unfortunate incidents.
@@Lee-cc9jf mate I don’t care what the afl investigation concluded because the fact of the matter is that him being sent back out almost killed him. And you still haven’t answered my question.
@@Lee-cc9jf I would spit it if I nearly died. You would too.
I know Robbo can choose his words poorly at times but whoever picked the title for this was way off. The princess line was out of context and he certainly wasn't 'calling' Christian out. He was just saying he can see both sides, albeit in a dramatic fashion.
It’s just another reason to hate on Slobbo, which is ridiculous because you don’t need clickbait titles to hate on the alky
choose his words poorly . lol. Understatement of the year. Sometimes he chooses them so poorly they slur together like the ramblings of a drunk boomer alone at the bar, but still talking out loud.
Lol, i don’t like Robbo but whoever at Fox runs their RUclips has completely thrown him and his relationship with Petracca under the bus with that click bait title. Took what he said completely out of context
slobbo needs to take it easy on the beers i reckon
Slobbo 😂 brilliant
Old insult. He was fine tonight and just buried a good mate.
Settle down guys.
No need for name calling. Little bit 'High School' isn't it?
Grow up.
And the Coke😂
@@linkvagar2336 I think you totally misunderstood what I said
They've told him they love him They've told him they care thing is they have not showed it
How have they “not showed it”? You wouldn’t have a clue. Club has been incredibly supportive of Petracca. $7m deal over 7 years break out the violins! 🎻 😢
Clubs not winning - Trac’s not winning.
Media -Winning 😂
Everything aside fox footy drop the hardest edits before they talk
And then Robbo starts talking...
slobbo gets more and more fitting every time he opens his mouth
They only keep these Dinosaurs cos there prehistoric masculine ideas create click bait drama . We need to ignore Robbo , He can fall off the Boomer Late gen X cliff.
Christian's injury is clearly a life changing event. If he wants to make changes in his life, so be it. Can't imagine what he & his family have been through.SupPORTer of Christian
Chhrishchun, shhuck it ushp phhrinshesh
-Slobbo.
Take it you didn’t watch the video you child
He just lost a good mate, u feel better now with that comment bro?
I agree, don't keep a player if they don't want to be at the club! weather they signed the deal yesterday, signed a 10 year deal or whatever. That will then lead to bad performances, faking injuries or not even playing at all. At that point you'll be wasting a valuable list spot.
There has been so much trouble behind the scenes in that club.
If we are at a job and our workplace treated us like this, would you be annoyed??
Or would being annoyed be considered "selfish"?
He signed a massive contract, he has to live up to it. It's fine if he goes I can't be here any more, but that doesn't mean he gets to pick where he goes. Melbourne should dig in. We'll trade you for the best deal, if you don't like it, bad luck you signed up for the long term. Play in Casey.
Id still rather watch robbo than sam mcclure. Although both flogs of the highest order.
They let him down after such a traumatic injury, let him go. He needs a rest and help. They talk about no drugs in footy, they use them all the time for pain relief so they can run them back out on the field. So cruel .
the tricky thing is figuring out which team actually has the inventory to spend to bring over petracca. He wants to come to a big club like collingwood or carlton, but collingwood dont have draft picks, and i dont see them trading someone like daicos. Same with carlton, i dont see them trading a harry mckay. So who will actually have the oppurtunity to convince melbourne in accepting the trade
Good comment Gamer. If you take him at his word about it having to be a powerhouse club in Melbourne there really are only three - Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon. I don't think any of those clubs have the currency that Melbourne will want let alone the salary cap space. And realistically, if they did have suitable player capital who would want to go there? I have no idea where that leaves everyone but we will find out eventually..
Zero chance either Carlton or Collingwood getting a trade done. Collingwood traded their first pick away for an average flanker, and Carlton will have a pick outside the top ten. Both have players that could make melbourne better, but in trading them away it makes them worse. There are teams that it makes sense for Melbourne to do a deal with, neither of these two are them. Richmond, North, Freo, have the stock required to get a deal done.
Maybe St Kilda could do a Max King and a pick trade.
@@scottmcnaughton539he wants to stay in vic Nth don't play in front of big crowds and Richmond will be wooden Spooner's for the next 3 years he won't go there either
If he is traded, it will be in the final half hour of the trade period. Clubs will be trading for picks in an effort to raise currency.
Then there’s the salary issue. Can he walk away from the contract altogether? I’m not sure how that works legally.
I don't regard Melbourne among the best run clubs in the AFL. There is no value having a player on your list who doesn't want to be there. The smart clubs realise this and let them go and cash in on what they get in exchange. There is no doubt that he would generate a huge return and obviously create a lot of salary cap space.
I mean I'd want out of that joint as well, but the social media/PR side of it is cringe and reflects badly on him and his management.
I can't blame Petracca for not wanting to be around a medical team who put his life at risk. 5 year contract and prior commitment to the team goes out the window at that point.
And all that goes out the window when the other reasons are to play in front of bigger crowds and to enhance his brand off the field, pretty selfish really
@@njokic2176 He almost died. I can't blame him for not wanting to work with those doctors anymore. That incident changes everything. There may have been other reasons which were in the background but not a deal-breaker for him, but once the spleen thing happened it all comes together differently.
If your workplace almost kills you it's fair enough to not want to be there anymore.
@@njokic2176 what happened is a significantly traumatic experience. It's going to be hard enough to even play football again, let alone play for the same team that the experience occurred - especially if you consider the malpractice.
Seems like his family is pushing hard for him to leave.
And there are RIGHT he should live
They don’t push when he got a huge contract…
I don't get it, I understand Melbourne supporters would be really disappointed. By why the big deal? every year players who are still under contract want to leave. Today John Noble from the pies said he wants out with 2 years still in contract. Is it the calibre of player or because it's 5 years left? Clubs and players do this every year.
Petracca is a marquee player and Noble isn't assured of getting a game. The difference is huge.
I think some of the comments on here are very off - learn some simple comprehension please.
Not helped by the misleading title.
long time deals are a curse now
love how all this media outrage is based on sam mclure's "believed" reasons for trac leaving hahahah they're salty and personally offended over something trac hasnt even said
Clubs have no regard for players when they don’t perform so why should players have a different approach to clubs when they fail them.
Clubs are the ones who are paying salaries
@@Johny-jy5vo The players are the ones playing the game for the clubs cashing in on thier success.
@@shannonbaron7302 every employer cashes in on their employees work
Melboirne is a shocking team anyway a bunch of posh schoolboys type vibe proper classy gooses
Melbourne Demons wheels fell off since Paul Roos left. As soon as Simon took over, the culture was tainted.
Mark robbo is a proper goose the blokes never kicked a footy he’s correct here but he’s a muppet
Melbourne need to trade him and Oliver and they need to make the trade work for them. Regardless of where that trade may take them. Players should only be able to accept the trades that are put in front of them, they can’t demand where they go.
All i can say is dont sign long term contracts simple as that🤷.
Mark Robinson has such petite, soft looking hands doesn't he
I imagine that all his appendage’s are quite inadequate
That’s from massaging his old fellow on a very regular basis.
Slobbo really sticking to the misogynistic task good stuff
Do you know what misogynistic means?
Misogynistic? 🤣🤣🤣
Gerard thought he had been rumbled
I empathise with both the Demons and Christian Petracca on this. On one hand, the Demons gave Christian an opportunity to fulfil a dream, provided a generous contract, and a loyal fan base. On the other hand, Christian Petracca plays at 100%, is an excellent role model, and has become the most prized player in the competition, a generational player. He had an experience whereby he was seriously injured and wrongly went back onto the field, which resulted in him being awake while major surgery was taking place to stem his internal bleeding. He then learns that he was near death while in the ICU, and his family was called. He feels let down by the club. I don't know how this will play out. A near death experience changes people profoundly.
Its not getting back on track not from here, no chance, the demons culture behind the scenes has to be alot worse
It’s no secret Melbourne have a crap culture and constantly deny it, but if they force him to stay it won’t help at all and prove what the external voices are saying be true
Whatever happens out of this if he stays he's gonna be unhappy and people at the club won't like him either fans will turn on him if he goes fans won't like that either but at least I'll get some compensation. It's a very very ugly situation one where I think I can understand he is upset, but the club didn't cause the injury yes they shouldn't have sent him back out onto the field but the damage was already done. It wouldn't have mattered whether he'd been rushed straight to hospital. It's quite potential that he would've experience the same injury even if he had not gone back on the field people are making out that because he went back on the field this made the injury somehow worse. No the damage was already done.
Are you medically trained?
Unless your under 21, even whichever team he goes to will think his a flog. I wouldn’t want that around my club even if he came for nothing.
Fox Footy has stitched up Robbo big time here with the title
Take out what his job his and his contract. His workplace failed his health and safety, if it was any other job many of us would leave if we didn't feel safe in our workplace and lost trust with people. Also no team should keep a player who does not want to be there.
This will be the deal that breaks player power, clubs and afl will give clubs the power to send him anywhere they want you, enjoy Gold Coast all of a sudden the players will have their foot in their mouth
Heel never be the same, Dusty copped something not quite as bad and never recovered to the level
Melbourne might be in the same state again for not winning a premiership for another 50 years
The five year contract is a stumbling block for a possible trade?
AND this is the current YOUTH......ohh dear
I agree with Robbo's comment about this being a very unfortunate situation for the Melbourne footy club. The Dees do not need this.
Robbo should make Petracca Walk the Plank
Starting to feel like he doesn’t give a crap about the loyal supporters..
Not one comment to them..
Pretty rough if you ask me
Melbourne should have just said. 1 Hes a contracted player we are working hard to build bridge's. 2 Hes a contracted player however if petracca wants to leave and not be apart of our future we will do our best for him to facilitate a trade. 3 if an adequate trade cannot be facilitated for the Melbourne football club he is a contracted player. Pretty simple.
Robbo is right on this .
Hold him to his contract. Simple.
Or sell his contract. Simple
Why does everything in the AFL have to be a soap opera. Bush league!
I mean it is sports entertainment… 🤦🏻♂️
YOU MIGHT BE SIMPLETON it is not that easy
if he doesn't want to be there then that is NUCLEAR for the culture of the club. Let him have a fresh start if that is what he needs.
The club's got to come out and put this to bed,
Petracca is the Ben Simmons of the AFL. Tons of ability but the mentality of a teenage princess. He should’ve brought up his issues when he negotiated a new contract.
Spot on and he is good mates with Ben Simmons so shows they are very similar in character
we all remember that premiership in 221
So Melbourne say under no circumstances would Christian be traded.. so if a club came & offered a couple of stars plus a couple of high draft picks, is it not irresponsible of them to not consider it.
Hey Carlton trade Marchbank, both Durdin's, Cunningham, Martin, Motlop, Williams for Petracca and future 1st rounder.
So 7 spuds and a first rounder? Dees will want another top 10 pick with that 🤣
Maybe it's a time to test "restraint of trade" in the courtroom if he wants to leave and they hold onto him. Contracts can be broken by either party, but there are consequences if this occurs. Or do you do the more difficult but adult thing and work out a deal that is a win win for both parties? In the end it is a sad time for all concerned. What has been and may have been, is no more. A new future unfolds for player and club.
They’ve put up with First Pick Petrek for years. Time for him to pay the club back.
Eagles fan here we traded a midfielder for josh kennedy it worked out great for us how did it work out for you Carlton!
A contract should be broken if the player is no longer happy. And how do they expect him to play well if he is going to become mentally unwell if he stays.
At the start of the video it says 5 years back in 2019/20 so how many years actually left on his contract
In the end families will decide he's gone.
Leave my Petracca alone man like fr Robbo is such a dog he needs to reconsider his Job at Fox Footy cus he's being the most hated by everyone
Watch the video before embarrassing yourself with comments like this dribble next time
It's called the silly season for a reason. This trade talk about petracca pretty much sums it up
Whilst he was going through a life altering situation, the club threw him under the bus when they should have been supporting him! This club has a serious culture problem when they support oliver but sharft Christian
Melbourne needed to sack the club doctor responsible as soon as they knew about near death condition. They havent acted quick enough so Trac out.
Bombers trade Parish for Trac, both have similar contracts.
Only possible trade would be Petracca for Harley Reid.
Melbourne want a forward. If West Coast has anything to offer it would be Oscar-Allen. Max King trade maybe.
He wants to stay in Melbourne what don't people understand about that?
Petraccas worth isn't that much
Petracca is close to 30 and there is a possibility he doesn't make it back to his elite form after this injury. Harley Reid isn't even in his prime yet. Melbourne would have to add to the trade to get Reid.
@Hunty49 Seriously Oscar Who, wouldn't give a 3rd round pick for him. Like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Skoda.
Robbo: it all started when Roos came in..& they went on to win the premiership. What did Roos do other than top up his super for a couple of years, okay us outsiders can only see the results on the weekends but they were still copping horrendous beltings during his time, so what else are we meant to think
He can do what he wants.
He signed 5 yr contract.
or he can do what his signed contract says.
Sounds like the poor guy is struggling with the trauma. Perhaps he feels a return to the Dees will trigger him, and hopes a change of club instead of getting some help, which would require facing the emotional issue, will negate that. If that’s the case (and this is hypothetical) another club should be wary.
Melbourne's incompetence nearly got him killed. Melbourne should do the trade and get whatever they can. Petracca has the contract, he's got the upper hand. I can see petracca sitting out 2025 if he stays at melbourne.
If he wants to go. Let him go.
Melbourne are so far in denial, it’s ridiculous.
Honestly someone like Robinson telling someone like Petracca how to approach his craft is utterly laughable.
He doesn’t want to stay he does not want to stay can’t put a gun to his head and make him stay it’s his decision and a just want to say I seriously have doubts about the coaching staff at Melbourne he sold the point he wants a bigger crowd but he also is not sold on Melbourne so in the meeting someone didn’t sell him on the fact this club will ever make top 4 and I think that’s. a huge reason why he is leaving
Perhaps some flowers & chocolates will help ?
Carlton Fan Here! Christian is a Great player but not required. Similar to when we got Judd for Josh Kennedy!
Melbourne were negligent putting Trac back on the ground.
Would you trust anything Goodwin says?
Isn’t this the same journo who accused Alex Fasolo of faking depression?
Robbo Melbourne literally failed their duty of care. I'm surprised the AFL didnt fine them. No wonder he wants to leave. I wouldn't feel safe there.
Trac nearly died on the operating table and COULD have died on the field had the Collingwood players hit him hard when he was sent back out there. Have some fucking perspective. Melbourne are lucky they're not being sued right now.
Petracca hasn’t come out and said he’s staying. Until he does…I reckon he wants to go.
Trac wife running his brand has got this entire thing wrong..don’t ask out until trade period starts!
The trouble is there is no trade that real can be done
I reckon Trac will end up at Collingwood. I think he really wants to go there.
Nearly died for the game and gets nothing but crap from the so-called “analysts”.
People saying he has a five year contract look at Grundy last year he had five years on his contract also and he was traded
Will it come down to Melbourne saying we won’t trade you and Petracca says he won’t play at all then. If he wants out let him go. Who would want to go to Melbourne it’s a rabble atm.
Saying you want out because you care about big crowds and building your brand for after football isn't a good look.
Christian is the best judge if he is able to play and he elected to do so , he also elected to sign a long term contract.
if he wants to go , thats fine , but at a heavily reduced amount .
This will reduce long term theoretical contracts , earnings can be better gauged based on personal performance , and trust can work both ways .
he has lost trust , thinks he's bigger than the club , to build brand petraca .
That's really not a good idea for the culture to keep a disgruntled player. It's an unfortunate but extremely traumatic experience that he went through. I would trade him to be honest. It's not worth destroying the club and the culture if a player does not want to be there. This isn't a player being a princess, he almost died - let him have a fresh start if that's what he needs to move on.
Melbourne is a bit like Collingwood it's a shambles
Christian has the full support of the board
AFL needs to introduce maximum 2 year contracts...keep players hungry. Trak is a cry baby 👶
Let him go.. Unfortunately he won’t want to come to Essendon he’s not silly 😂
Robbo needs to do some investigating and find the two majors issues that Petracca has.
I’ve been a big detractor of Petracca in the past, but I cannot for the life of me understand why he is getting knocked by the Journos for his decision, he is within his rights to call out the club and say they have not held up their end of the deal and he wants out….. These same Journos are saying the club should trade out Clayton Oliver🤷🏼♂️🤦♂️
Oliver is a coke head ... 😤😤😤
Nobody from MFC or Petracca have explained what the basic problems are 😂
