    San Francisco 49ers Defense Highlights.
Pressure on the QB even with 2 Pro Bowlers on that Saint's O-Line. It's been awhile since I saw Drew Brees look uncomfortable.
Tight secondary coverage and discplined understanding of routes.

Justin Smith and Ahmad Brooks were so underrated. Carlos Rogers had a career year that season too. A fantastic group, I wish they had a ring to validate their supremacy. They didn't allow a single 100 yard rusher or rushing td until like week 16 or 17 when they started resting players.

Alex Smith had the best season of his career after have 7 different OC`s, found the right coach.Backup: Colin Kaepernick has a cannon and is athletic.
Frank Gore beast HB, 1000 yard season again Kendall Hunter: explosive HB, has a lot of potential. Jacobs: Nice HB inside the red zone. Mario Manningham: through something of a disappointing 2011 season in which Hakeem Nicks established a career high for receiving yards Mario Manningham's stock elevated in the postseason. Randy Moss: deep threat.

We also added Lamichael James out of Oregon (a Darren Sproles type of player) and A.J. Jenkins out of Illinois (a speedster with excellent route running skills). Dude you have to admit the niners are stacked this year. Yeah Alex Smith is our biggest question mark guy and who knows with Moss but I'm thinking the niners have to be considered among the favorites to go all the way this year. One things for sure; the rest of the NFL is thanking God we didn't get Peyton Manning as well lol.

Offsides DL and DB 1:27, Offsides DL 3:01, Offsides DL 4:02, Neutral zone infraction 5:38 DL, Offsides 7:46 DL. Niners D is dominant, but the Refs totally failed that day. Game is done, doesn't matter anymore, but I just wanted to point out the ref fails.

Actually, the 49ers and Giants both have four wins against each other in the playoffs.
49ers beat the Giants in the 1981, 1984 and 1993 NFC Divisional Playoffs and the 2002 NFC Wild Card Game while the Giants beat the 49ers in the 1985 NFC Wild Card Playoffs, 1986 NFC Divisional Playoffs and the 1990 and 2011 NFC Championship Games.

And the Saints defense gave up 36. That's even worse. And allowed two Red Zone TDs out of four attempts to a team that was ranked 30th in red zone TD percentage.

this is not a summary, this only shows tha positives. Many negative plays crucial to the game were left out, meaning this does not summarize the Niners' entire defensive perfromance.
P.S. this is a niners fan, not a disgruntled saints fan.

  • @KaminariKatta
    @KaminariKatta 12 лет назад

man 49ers defense is awesome. The saints should not even have scored 32 points if the 49ers had a real offense that at the very least ate up the time of possession.
New Orleans possesed the ball longer than the 49ers did at 31:20 and 28:40 respectively.
To put it in perspective. The giants limited the Pats to 17 points.
    Their Time of possession?Giants 37:05. Pats 22:55
The pats would have undoubtedly won SB 46 if they had a real defense that could give brady the ball back faster.

"But how did the Saints get their asses smashed? they lost by a last second touchdown."
You do not have to get beat by 42 to get "smashed" thats called blown out. In football we consider being physically beat up (no matter the final score) getting smashed.
