Many don’t know the history of the song. One of the first public performances was in New Orleans when a Texas brigade was passing through. The song made the men so excited that a riot started after a policeman tried to quiet one of the Texans who wouldn’t stop loudly cheering. The riot was stopped eventually due to the mayor and the Texas colonel personally showing up to calm the men.
Now I wanna hear a rendition of Battle Cry of Freedom or the Battle Hymn of the Republic after hearing this and Dixieland. Good job! Edit: Now that I think about it, I recommend doing covers of songs by Stephen Foster. Many don’t know the history of the song. One of the first public performances was in New Orleans when a Texas brigade was passing through. The song made the men so excited that a riot started after a policeman tried to quiet one of the Texans who wouldn’t stop loudly cheering. The riot was stopped eventually due to the mayor and the Texas colonel personally showing up to calm the men.
As a southern anime fan, can't begin to express my approval.
