Governor nominates new prison boss hours after union airs criticism of the pick

A fight is brewing over leadership at Rhode Island’s state prison, the Adult Correctional Institutions.
In a letter to the governor Thursday, the correctional officers union expressed criticism of prison leadership and the desire for a national search for a new director of corrections.
For more than a year, the Department of Corrections has been led by Wayne Salisbury, on an acting basis.
