I’m actually really glad the way you paired your shirt and sweater together. I wanted to see this on someone. I went the mall weeks ago and saw a guy wear a black pullover and a his white collard shirt underneath peeping out and it looked amazing so I’m glad I saw it on a female and it co formed how much I like it
Sort of going hand-in-hand with the 75 hard style challenge/pausing on acquiring new items/paring down your wardrobe, I saw someone talking about how they put a ban on closet clean outs after doing a big overhaul of their closet. The idea is that knowing you aren't going to get rid of something once you add it to your closet makes you that much more intentional about acquiring it in the first place!
Abercrombie for super long cuff jeans! I usually buy regular size length pants so I just buy Abercrombie wide leg jeans in extra-long and get like a 6-7 inch cuff out of it! Or if you’re petite you could get them in regular or long.
YES to the a-line dress mystery! I feel like the modern version of that is the skater-style dress but I prefer a-lines because they aren't quite as fitted at the hips/stomach!
honestly hearing this in the video + seeing this comment reaffirming it is making me chuckle a bit. with plus size clothing - in particular dresses - that’s about all you really can find most places bc they’re allegedly “more flattering” aka hide someone’s stomach. i just think it’s interesting where the different perceptions lie, and is something to note to broaden our thinking! it’s been nice seeing more styles begin to come into the plus size realms but honestly we really could only get A-lines for a long time, so lots of fat ppl got sick of them and abandoned dresses altogether….which makes me sad, bc long live no pants! hopefully lots of different cuts in all sizes can begin to recircle the market again and for the first time :)
love love love your take on this. I got a midi skirt last summer and wore it a lot. also i pinched a screenshot of 7:23 because this is EXACTLY how my fantasy self looks and i want to actually start dressing this way
Hi! 😊 I really enjoyed this video! The collages were so helpful to demonstrate and imagine the trend you are talking. I would have a REQUEST. Could you do a hair - especially bangs styling. 🙏🥹 Thank youuuu 😊
I also struggle finding shoes I like, especially for summer! I love the Ganni buckle flats and the maison margiela tabi flats since they’re a bit chunkier/ interesting but they’re wayyyyy out of budget so I gotta keep looking 🥲
I think your points about leaving behind anything that doesn’t fit or that also just isn’t your vibe ultimately is so true and makes such a difference. When you know what feels good for you then you can choose the trends that fit you and not worry about the ones that don’t. I’d also add to that getting rid of any shoes that are not comfy to wear as well as any clothing that’s belongs to your imaginary life rather than your real life i.e all the clothes I had purchased for some fancy life I don’t really live had to go.
Completely agree on the cuff jeans!! If you have access to buy from M&S (maybe not as they are UK) they do some incredible really reasonably priced pairs ❤
8:03 A nice sandal in either cognac or metallics, that isn’t a slide, but a sandal, that doesn’t have an overtly flat sole, a little but of cushion. I know it’s over done, but find one that works with your foot shape and in a more classic or timeless style, and it will last more that one summer. Take it from someone who lives in the tropics, it works miracles.
totally agree to leaving sneakers that don't fit my personal vibe in 2023! i feel like once i freed myself from the sneaker trends i was more in tune with my personal style
Wait I’m actually dying I made a video a few months ago where I predicted winter trends and one of the things I was adamant about was that cotton full coverage underwear would come back. I’ve heard nothing of it since until this and im unreasonably proud
I’ve been looking for the perfect cheetah print item to add to my wardrobe for a year now, hopefully it being more trendy should make that easier. That’s the only reason I appreciate trends 😂
All of the photos you used I feel like read very 80's. Like neutral colors but the accessories and outfit choices are 80s coded. Not my personal taste so I will continue to wear what I already own and enjoy what I'm comfortable in. Bc no one is convincing me that flats or loafers are more comfortable than my new balance.
i'm quite easily influenced usually & get fatigued from certain styles but a satin midi skirt has been my go-to for almost 5 years now

I loved it when you said I don't always need to be wearing something flattering. And I 10000% agree.
just have to say the editing in this video is A+! the lil handwritten title cards?? * chefs kiss *
Really enjoyed this topic and your reasons behind each style. Thanks for inserting inspiration pics!

If you are looking for an A-line satin dress, Walmart actually has a great one. It is by Sophia Vergara and is a turquoise floral.

I love this. I’m keeping my high rise cause I have a long torso. I’m leaving behind shoes that make my feet hurt and clothes that wrinkle too easily.
Love ypur glasses ❤❤ I subscribed straight because of your style. I love how simple but glam it is ❤❤

Los Angeles Apparel makes a cute and comfortable A-line skort called the Cheer Skort! It’s 100% cotton, too :)
I just found your channel and I love your style and the way you make your videos! Excellent quality!
listening and watching intently ✍️✍️✍️
I personally love a mule slip on or an espadrille during the summer. Both very comfy and can be very chic depending on the style.
your look and style in this video feels so timeless and inspiring to me. I'm into the statement glasses too. where are yours from? they're perfect!
Thank you! They’re the Warby Parker Hannon frame

the altering one was such a good acknowledgement tbh
The pair of flats that I can recommend are a pair of vaviaia’s I might have spelled that wrong but they comfy and made out of plastic bottles 👍🏾
the flat summer shoe i've been looking towards is the mesh ballet flat! Not 100% sure how i feel about them but wanna keep my eye out.

Chinese velvet Mary Jane’s - used to get them from Chinese supermarkets for like 5 pounds lol - so iconic
Love love love! Looking cool is in, looking hot is out!
for summer flats, some cute fisherman sandals are a classic
I love Nisolo’s huaraches for a flat summer shoe!

totally agree to leaving sneakers that don't fit my personal vibe in 2023! i feel like once i freed myself from the sneaker trends i was more in tune with my personal style
ok literally yes to cotton brief underwear bc you know what is not a slay?? a yeast infection!
and for your summer flat -- hereu makes a very cool loafer-esque fisherman sandal type of vibe
I didn't know about this challenge. Thank you for sharing it! And I totally agree about the chunky jewelry feeling more playful.
A-line cuts are in for spring. I think most will be midi though.
Great video, thanks so much Lindsey. Great goals (I can totally relate!) and first rate inspo!❤❤❤
