The best part of my four years in Austin, Texas, was watching him on Monday nights residency at The Continental Club. Must've watched some of the best country music of any place on earth available on the regular. Damn, what a time.
As a Texan truck driver, (for life) I have listened to Dale Watson a million times over and over again on the road while truckin outlaw style. (very long hour, fast trip high horsepower overweight BIG trucks) And this artist (DW) has got me down a many of roads with his music. Many thanks Dale! Your trucking sessions music is dead nut to our (old school drivers) language that I swear that you lived the life yourself... You music is that awesome to me as a driver and only a handful of artist have accomplished that perfectly as you have! Without good music and trucks... America stops! Ten fo.
I love how musicians like this can just go into a studio and lay down songs flawlessly. The producers/engineers have this shit mixed tight, too. Sounds great. Thanks!
Seen dale Watson and his lonestars at the continental club in Austin Texas fuckin classic!!! Everybody was dancing and I was fortunate enough to smoke a joint the drummer mike! 🎸🥁🎤🎼
if you ever get a chance to see Dale and band in a bar around Austin...do it. His live music has more of an edge and it's alot more fun than anything on RUclips.
We saw him and his awesome band in Albany, NY, about a year ago. I'm not normally a "country" fan, but I'll tell you, what a night of dancing and great music! See him if you get a chance.
Boy this is nothing compared to his live performances. He really pulls out all the stops. He has a lot of rapport with the audience. If he's playin' anywhere near you, you have to go.
I just found him today, and have listened a dozen videos and this interview. I'm loving it, an authentic "Ameripolitan" musician. This is classic music! Going to go buy some cds and/or downloads! Support the music and musicians you love, buy their music!
+Josh King Incredible tone! But the whole band is really great! I just don't have enough words in my non-native English to describe my excitement buzz! =)
Good stuff! I wish more of these guys/gals were still making music. A lot of talent in country music, to bad it's all pop music today. Guess I'm and old Jack ass! I'll take it! lol
Dale is the best. last time i saw him last year down near Silverlake (LA) at a cool place called The Echo. He delivered and man the guy is a cool sweet cat. Great band and a personalty that goes on. forever. The guy makes it all cool. His new LP is worth the acquisition, funds well spent, dough going to the sounds of dale watson.
Got to see Dale and the guys perform at Tomball's Main Street Crossing, and I cant wait 'til they return to the area! I've never seen a band have more fun onstage and interact with the audience so perfectly and naturally. Dale was just one of the guys, no pretense, he sang EVERY request called out, back to back, usually with a funny backstory for each. He's a sharp sexy singer/songwriter who shows how much he LOVES his work!!! It's in his blood and he SHINES!
+spikealee Baker Not sure we're on the same page my friend. Country = Blake Shelton = Bad, Ameripoliitan = Dale Watson, Hank Williams, George Jones, Wayne Hancock, Junior Brown, David Allen Coe = Good... very good.
+Chap FatHead I didn't know what you 2 were going on about, but after listening a bit of Blake Shelton I know one thing: I don't want to hear a full song and that that's not country. That's (mediocre) pop. But man, this Watson has one awesome country-voice :-)
LOL!!! Who in THE HELL would give Dale Watson a thumbs down? Only one I could possibly imagine doing that would be Blake Shelton but even he knows that Dale is really the king. Nice of them to stop torturing kittens or whatever demented hobby they have to stop by and do that...

Money. Young cover girls and guys, equipped with a cowboy hat and a multi million management machine in the background, singing country-pop music reaches a wider audience, that's where the big money are
Rimrock300 I hate it but that’s who I have to be in the northeast. Tough to get gigs billed as an outlaw country band that doesn’t play top 40 but that’s who we are and we’ve got our following. That says enough.
austin loves ya big DALE!!!!... for real, the man has a hand in ownership of a bar here in austin that has chicken shit bingo... use your imagination... he's the real deal.... one of the best...

Who died and left you in charge of the whole of public opinion? His boy maybe talented, which is way cool, but to make a statement like that about a talent like Dale, who incidently probably has more talent 99% of us spectators, is the mark of a small mind.
ME again there Dale ... DANGEROUSLY DARING DARRELL ... you COULD use a good rhythm man - LIKE ME! who could give ya great steady SOUND and TIGHTASS harmonies! Got some good "ORGS" fer ya too! I'll get in touch! Still .... that drummer - OUCH!
No. Make the trip to Texas. It's well worth it. Go see the Broken Spoke, Continental Club, Gruene Hall, and Coupland Dance Hall. There are MANY others too. Take several trips and discover the hidden jewels in Texas.

Awesome
He dam good
Really good stuff
Badassery!
I HATE when hipsters call something the "real deal", but in this one case, it's true.
Dale Watson is great, just wonder why Nashville doesn't get it ?
Money. Young cover girls and guys, equipped with a cowboy hat and a multi million management machine in the background, singing country-pop music reaches a wider audience, that's where the big money are
I would guess it's because the only thing Nashville pushes is shit. Nashville has done its best to ruin country music and fuck them for that
Rimrock300 I hate it but that’s who I have to be in the northeast. Tough to get gigs billed as an outlaw country band that doesn’t play top 40 but that’s who we are and we’ve got our following. That says enough.
That Ain't No Pre-Packaged Nashville Stuff . . That's REAL Music !

Look, I'm not drinking Lone Star, and you can't make me.
who gives a shit? NOBODY!!!!
AH YEAH BRAHS!
Nobody caught the Dewey Cox reference at the end?! No longer main lining acid or Pcp 😆
His product placement for Lone Star Beer is brillant.
American polytan is also called in my book , country western music. stuff they play today on country stations is country pop music.
Mike Bernal on the drums?
bassjaco1 you know it
Laying bricks for the foundation he is too!
Solid Honkin Gold!
