Worcester is affordable in comparison to Boston, but it's super expensive. Two bedrooms starting at $2500 per month. People that lived here for years dont like it because it was better back in the day. My mom moved us here from NYC in 1991 so raise me in a safer environment. We had the Worcester Galleria, then common fashion outlets now we have no mall in Worcester. Closest mall is in Auburn. There is nothing open downtown after 6pm. The new hub for the WRTA is full of addicts that harass people all day trying to get to work. From Crystal Park to City Hall is full of zombie like addicts. This place is trash at best. The best part of this city is the healthcare. The crime is horrible. I wouldn't suggest anyone moving here
Your experience is valid! a I think it really depends on what section of Worcester though. I have many people in Tatnuck that love it there as well as Burncoat area 🤷♀️. Rent is high everywhere …but in relation to Boston homes and rent are significantly more affordable
I've lived in and around WORCESTER pronounced WOR-ster. Not what ever you're calling it. The city has turned to crap in the last 20 years. About the only good thing about it is the schools. Entertainment is spotty at best boasting NO cinemas and only occasional 'shows' at the existing venues. Worcester used to have daily entertainment. Yes traffic is easy to navigate because no one stays IN the city. Jobs are nonexistent unless you want to work in education or healthcare. Worcester has been 'reimagining' itself since the 1970's. Personally I don't think it's ever going to find itself. Also it's the SEVEN hills. Obviously don't know the city.

I'm a Worcester -Ite for a lifetime. The best part of living here, is you can scramble to someplace else to live. The airport sucks, as does the bussing and the infrastructure . We've got about 10 college's yes. But grads move out of the area, so expect a vast majority of idiots in your neighborhood. Most of Worcester is a great place... To move out of and mozy on into the local towns, though they don't have public transportation at all. It's a fraction of the cost of Boston and a pretty city, but if you're thinking of moving to Worcester, ask yourself, "Why"? Dr. Death, AKA Anthony Faucci, graduated from Holy Cross College 🎉 He locked up the country and caused many kids killing themselves. Otherwise, Worcester is a wonderful place to live. Unless you want a happy community.
