I think the chorus is integrated exceptionally well. The verses flow so seamlessly into it. Sure, it's super melodic and catchy, but it blends with the song from the high-energy from Sam's belting notes.
I don’t necessarily think he’s forcing himself, more like he gave up on the band since he hasn’t liked their last few records he goes in not expecting much from them and I mean it’s pretty fair, tbh I’ve enjoyed some of their recent stuff but to me it just doesn’t compare to their older records
My thoughts on Architects are basically that these new tracks are fun head bangers, but nothing they have put out recently makes me THINK. Its just loud and heavy and fun, but not, and I dont mean this in a bad way, meaningful. All Our Gods makes me sit and listen to the lyrics and the message they were trying to send. These new tracks dont. With that said, this is the best song they have put out in years.
And that impact they drop by making you think is what made their older stuff so much better. Not necessarily because it was "heavy." Throw in phenomenal riffing on top of that emotional impact and you can clearly hear the night and day difference between then and what their attempting to do now. Forced heaviness.
They're in a weird spot because every other band has since taken their old style and iterated on it. If they tried to do the same they would just be accused of copying Currents or IA. They're also just in better places mentally so the doom and gloom of All Our Gods just isn't as prevalent with them. Their focus is clearly now on their live shows, where this will absolutely pop off. That chorus is fantastic. I really like this song, but I do wish FTTWTE became their new blueprint. It was fresh, interesting, impactful and a chart-topper. They're making fun music and having fun doing it, love that for them. That's about it.
For me its one of the best choruses they ever did and one of the best modern songs since holy hell they did. Chorus struct me emotionally which hasnt happened with architects since FTWWTE. I'm very much looking forward to the new album.
I agree, I also don’t really agree with his statement that they are forcing the heaviness. I don’t see why the song being really heavy with a clean chorus is an issue in this song, but not the countless other songs that he reacts to. I still enjoy his reactions but I just disagree on that point. I do agree on the production being way too clean as it can get a bit repetitive and lack some punch, but that doesn’t take away from the songwriting for me as I feel this song is one of their strongest in a while
For Those Who Wish To Exist was amazing and I wish they continued down the route of something like that instead of pushing this somewhat regurgitated "arena metalcore" vibes which I do like but its getting stale. Classic Symptoms was not it, however I do enjoy this song and Whiplash. I think they are both pretty good songs and i enjoyed listening to them.
I appreciate the fact that you're one of the more honest react channels. Most have basically just given up on actually giving their opinion because it's easier to grow an audience if you just like everything. I very much agree with what you said, for me, the architects "fall off" was never because of heaviness, it was authenticity, FTWTE was authentic and i liked it, the one after felt like a bad compromise for everyone, heavier, but even more artificial and boring. This is definitely getting back to their heavier side, but it's still missing originality. This song feels like what happens if you average all of the popular metalcore of the last 4 years, but without actually taking what made these individual songs good. It's not bad but it misses something, multiple bands could have written this exact song. The once so famous architects sound is just gone.
exactly, on my comment on the original video the exact thing i pointed out was how extremely generic this is, but people will still be drooling over it because its Architects
@@MDLuFFy19 i don't even really get what you're trying to say. I'm not acting like a pretentious cunt that doesn't like anything that doesn't sound like an exact copy of their earlier work. I'm just asking them to make something a bit more distinctive and not this generic. I don't hate this track, it's just not really doing anything for me as it sounds identical to whiplash and curse.
i think this is something funny to listen to, it lacks the essence of the architects i fell in love with, but its still something enjoyable and definitly better than the classics syntomps of a broken spirit
Thank you Bogdan for feeling the same as i do about the last two songs. They are playing "safe", i really liked FTWWTE because it sounded like they wanted to do that kind of music. They sound so..normal in these last songs.
I think the problem is that Architects ruined their image and the audience perception of them. It doesn't matter if they make a heavy song again because we no longer see them as genuine. Going back and listening to Gravity, Hereafter, or Memento Mori, you really feel just how insincere their new music is, regardless of its heaviness.
Ruined their image and audience perception? They're bigger than they ever were. Animals exploded into their biggest song by a long fucking shot. Seeing Red is already bigger than all but 2 songs off of Holy Hell, and bigger than all but 2 songs off FTTWTE. AND bigger than all but 1 song off TCSOABH Now sure it's easy to argue if maybe YOU don't like it, or some others don't. I think some of their recent tracks are pretty weak as well, but to say that their image is ruined is literally pretty laughable. It's getting pretty exhausting seeing people throw the comments of "These songs just aren't the essence of the band" as if these people are John Architects or something and know what the band is more than the members themselves lmao. I think Architects is PERFECTLY fine as a band. They make high quality music with a very powerful mix. Their choruses are great, breakdowns are heavy, and the writing is usually pretty impactful. I also honestly don't even think they sound generic, maybe a bit more of the 'stadium' sound to them. Though I will say, Gone With The Wind will prob forever remain their best song.
The reaction from most fans to this song really does seem to be: heavy = good and it really doesn't. The guitar parts are so unimaginative - cut up 0-0-0-1 riffs are such a departure from what actually made architects inspiring and interesting - its not bad but its just not interesting to me in the same way architects used to grab me
Seeing Red was forced heaviness, but I suppose that was the entire point of the song being a bit of banter. This song, while still a far cry from their works of 2009-2017, is an enjoyable listening experience and I find this and the previous singles waaaay better than the last album. I also loved FTTWTE, but this is also shaping up to be a great album IMO. It is very polished and produced, taking away the raw edge of All our gods etc. But that's just modern metal nowadays. Definitely my favourite of the singles so far, Curse being second.
This might be my favorite architects songs overall honestly. I’ve lost my spark with them too, but listening to this song feels like when I first started listening to them. Everything just feels right for me. Whether it’s forced or not I just love the song.
I know exactly what you mean with their choruses. When you listen to these new songs and then go back and listen to the chorus on The Distant Blue, it’s like maaaan.. why can’t they do that again!?!?
It’s kinda feels like in “Lost forever…” and “All our gods…” albums they were putting their souls and feelings into songs. And we believed it and can feel it too. And now they like “We’ll tryna get you what you want from us but we don’t know what we actually want… here, take this, maybe it’ll work” and old-Architects fans feels like they were treated with cardboard burger
@@ОлегШевченко-к8и I think it also has to do with them not wanting to repeat themselves with the same formula over and over. So they are trying to find different ways to switch it up. Sometimes it hits, sometimes it doesn’t
I think my only complaint with the chorus is that, while Sam's scream-sings ARE there, they're relegated to the back of the mix, rather than front and center like in Holy Hell. They're just there to add texture to the vocal layers rather than really driving the song, and I think that's what a lot of people are missing from their sound at this point (besides the string-skipping riffs of course). I hope they have a song that lets those scream-sings shine, because no one does those like Sam did back in the day. Still a fantastic chorus, it's been earwormed in my brain since I first heard this song. I love the heaviness of the whole track. I do wish that Jordan Fish had gone with a slightly less overproduced sound. It feels very corporate and sterilized, even as heavy as it is.
They used to be one of the front runners now in trying to progress they've actually gone backwards into generic. The heavyness doesn't feel natural in these singles. The switch between them and Whitechapel is a good example as they went back to heavy effortlessly whereas Architects just feels like a "we can still be heavy guys we promise"
I saw Sam talking with Rock Feed a couple of days ago, he seemed very happy about the direction of the band, album and overall vibe in the band, I can clearly hear it in this single, probably one of the best song they made in years
It's got a similar vibe to Poppy's they're all around us. I think Jordan was trying to get Sam to sing like Poppy, but he just doesn't have the range. He's straining. Poppy's a girl, it's just easier for her.
While it doesn't sound like the Architects that I love and got me into metalcore, this was a good well produced metalcore song. But my problem with this and current metalcore is that it all sounds the same to me too much production, quantized instruments that sound like robots playing, unnatural vocal production. Maybe it's my taste in general that is changing like I've been more drawn to post hardcore, 2000's revivalcore and alternative metal lately.
I for one am a fan of the new songs and especially this one. I do not think the heaviness is forced as I expected this after Josh left the band and Jordan was added.
Jordan Fish is the reason they sound like this. It's clear Sam and the band were lost about what direction to take next, and his stepping in and helping the band is EXACTLY what they needed.
I think it’s the mix. It feels overly polished as though everything’s been rounded off. Even compared to softer songs from AOGHAU, this still feels softer. The older songs feel raw, the guitars have sharpness to them like they could cut you. These overly polished songs are like a butter knife in comparison. The other thing is the lyrics, I find them less memorable. I probably won’t remember this song like I don’t remember any from the last album. BUT this is the best song they've released in recent years. Will aways be a fan!
I'm usually the last person to complain about music sounding "overproduced", but yeah this mix feels very sterile and far too polished. FTTWTE put so much emphasis on massive ambiance, symphonics, and the guitars and vocals sounded clean while remaining punchy and semi-raw. This by comparison feels like some fast chugs with no additional layers to make it more memorable. Still, pretty good song.
The chorus is really catchy. BTW, would be funny if they, after shoving this "you wanted heavy? we still can be if we want" album, they're gonna release an absolutely experimental thing they would enjoy which will piss the "fans" so much :D
It's like when you break up after the love slowly dies, I'm not sure if the problem is how they changed or how I did. All I know is, as heavy as shit as that song was, I sat still throughout. Maybe this just isn't my bag any more.
My feelings on Architects are like my feelings on Star Wars. I love the originals (first albums), I equally love the prequels (later albums), but the new stuff is so unlike that and imo not good, I find it hard to enjoy anything they do with it now cause I almost feel like they’ve lost the magic for good
I have no idea why this band has removed all sense of atmosphere from their sound. The songwriting has become extremely predictable. Every course almost sounds exactly the same. This band has almost forgotten what they even are anymore. This band quickly went from one of the most unique bands in the genre, just sounding about a stale generic as they possibly can.
I wonder if Architects as a band were planning on going in a 'less guitar-y' approach after Holy Hell, or did Tom's death accelerate that? Blackhole is heavy for sure but guitars aren't main focus anymore (lol Blackhole as a guitar solo as I type this).
This song was good at first, but unfortunately it suffered the same fate as whiplash. It fell off really fast for me. It's not a bad song by any means. I see why people like it. Maybe Architects is just not for me anymore.
@CanadianGr3atness I agree. The problem however is not how it sounds. It's really hard to describe what the core problem is for me personally. Maybe "uninspiring" or "boring" but those sound too harsh. You can keep your sound and still evolve and do interesting stuff. It's almost like they have so much potential yet they fail to reach it. I'll definitely still check out the album tho!
@@RavetsUI agree. I still enjoy these new songs but I don't jam them constantly like I do with their older works. I feel like some of their original sound was lost in this new phase. I wish more bands did what Red has done with their sound. They kept their "core" sound while trying some different things in their albums. If people like it or not is subjective, but one can't say that they lost a part of their identity.
It's not a bad song by any means but I forgot it almost as soon as the track ended. These guys used to have their own thing going within the metalcore space, whereas this could be any number of bands.
I guess there's a lot more competition these days and we just compare it to them. If they released it in Holy Hell times - a lot more people would love it. Or maybe it's the lyrics that seem less genuine, idk.
@suchyczowiek2460 I feel like every song on holy hell was better than this. Not just the lyrics but the whole song feels less genuine than their older stuff. Their newer stuff feels like a different vibe to me.
I’m happy to hear them heavy again, but I can’t help but feel like it’s completely insincere because they very obviously don’t want to do the heavy thing anymore but feel like they have to to gain an audience back.
I can definitely see how some folks, especially older fans, really don’t like the new “melody stadium rock” sound, but I am personally all for it. it might come from growing up with rock and metal bands like breaking Benjamin, BMTH, or Linkin Park, where the contrasts from heavy to big chorus moments were “emotional ups and downs” I suppose. I love it but I can tell it’s becoming a bit oversaturated in modern metalcore. Man it sucks to see your favorite sound get big enough to become the “boring norm” 😂, really love your honesty man, keeping it real despite being in the minority opinion for a lot of reactors ❤❤
I've had the same issue as you about chorus in "Whiplash", but i really liked chorus in "Blackhole". For me it's not ruining the song and it feels organic and dramatic enough. But it's just my opinion
I'm loving this new phase of 'Architects'. The big challenge for bands today is knowing how to make these transitions from heavy to clean sound without sounding cliché and they have managed to do so. Nowadays, only boring bands have appeared on the scene but they have remained on top in my opinion.
@@wallysnakes2690 if im remembering correctly it was some few leads that lasted no more than 10 seconds, i was losing my shit when i saw people call that a "solo". Not to be elitist or anything but no thats not a guitar solo lmao. This one on this song was a way better example
I’m liking this track quite a lot so far. I’m more of a LF/LT or AOGHAU guy but these new songs are some fun headbangers to throw on mindlessly. I still prefer their older stuff that had more meaning behind it, but the new stuff is still really fun to listen to. Ps: The groove at 2:42 has been stuck in my head 24/7 since the minute it was released.
I've never liked Architects basically ever, but I thoroughly enjoyed this song. Wasn't really a fan of whiplash. I feel like returning to your roots or going back to a sound you used to be a part of isn't forcing it. If they want to return to it, good for them.
Lifeless, plain, unimaginative... (not only the riffs) Video was cool tho! [Now i understand why a lot of people say Randy LeBoeuf is a top tier producer in the scene and practically everyone that knows him and his work, praises him]
I think you can walked in to this one with your mind already made up. Maybe give this one a few listens. Loved this one, best song since holy hell album i reckon, great fun track
It's not a bad song by any means, but i don't know, what caught my attention most about Architects back then were the build ups, and in these new singles i just don't feel that. Obviously they have no obligation to stick to a specific formula or make the sound that a certain audience expects, but these are my current feelings about the band.
I agree with you here on the chorus thing... It sounds so polished. I wish bands stop doing that but also I can see why people like it too... Sam's singscream is the best in the genre, looks like they're not doing it anytime soon.
Blackhole is the only single they released on the upcoming album thats really grabbed my attention, the album will just be okay i think, its not really gonna be anything special compared to previous albums like Hollow crown, Daybreaker, Lost together
Yo what are with the comments saying you're hating on this?? You're literally sharing your opinion and you were fair and unbiased and even said some positive things about it before saying why you don't like it...
Because people love to hate. Most of them probably didn't get past halfway mark of the video. Also many of them erased a line between critique and hate, so for them any negativity that goes outside of their predetermined opinion is hatred. Oh well.
Its their best song until now but I really get what you afe saying about the chorus as we share the same oppinion on their sound. The thing is that we have so much better metalcore coming out these days like Invent Animate and many others “smaller” bands that it seems like they left their creativity on the golden days and are just following the chart of modern metalcore just like FIR
hmm this is probably my favorite single out of the 4 but idk if ill check out the full album cus it all kinda blends in the same, and i've kinda grown tired of this type of metalcore sound if im gonna be honest.(not bad, just not my thing i suppose). i did like the solo the most tbh. i wont complain much, architects honestly gave me my favorite albums to listen to in highschool and i love every record they've put out except the last one(once again, not bad just not my thing lol). on a side note for any guitarists: are they playing in regular drop g# tuning or their normal g# tuning? i noticed in the music video it looks like he's playing in drop g# but i honestly can't tell lol.
I cant really explain or put into words what i feel about this song or the new albums singles alltogether but im trying to explain Its a catchy song and ive had it on repeat the day it came out, but overall i dont think its a song i would come back to lets say in a few months time Compared to for example their All our Gods have abandoned us album, all these new singles (also their last album) lack *something* I dont know but i feel All our gods have abandoned us has such a unique sound overall, I keep catching myself wanting to listen to that album to experience THAT unique sound again. Blackhole on the other hand will be replaced by any other decent generic metalcore song that releases by whatever band in the upcoming weeks/months. It is architects, but its not the unique architects sound that we all (or at least I) loved once. I dont know what it is, is it different mixing? is it the riffs that are different? Something is here thats just not THAT architects anymore. Pull out "Nihilist" off their All our gods have abandoned us album and go to 1:15 and listen to that section - i close my eyes, listen to it and it makes me feel like i ascend into heaven for a few seconds. A section i HAVE to listen to every once in a while. "gone with the wind", "gravity" - songs I HAVE TO LISTEN TO every once in a while. Blackhole will not achieve that Whiplash will not achieve that. I dont know why though, I can not explain it. It feels different.
Personally I think they need to somehow combine their older style with For Those That Wish To Exist...then they'll be onto a winner, not just go all out heavy with no substance and a pop chorus it just doesn't sit right, it feels like they're once again doing this to spite people like in Seeing Red
I completely respect your opinion, and I get it. But I love this, I think this has set an amazing standard for metalcore this year. I think it sounds really clean and groovy.
lol i love being a semi-casual off/on listener of metal that didnt know people existed who dont like cleans or wanted bleghs in every song etc etc till last year bc i have no clue what architects used to sound like, and with nothing to compare it to, i just really like this *shrugs*
I'm still baffled by how people are saying architects are heavy again when tear gas, deep fake, a new moral low ground were heavy. This band can't catch a break, no matter what they do. Their last album was really good but people spat out their dummies because it wasn't what they wanted, yet the song that got the most love was burn down my house...
The chorus in this song is so good and that tasty guitar solo really ads to the song. However, Architects don’t hit like they used to anymore. Tom Searle was a genius guitarist and songwriter. May he be in the grace of god. Overall I’m just happy for these guys, and just want them to have fun doing what they love
The song is kind of fun, but just so very formulaic. It feels almost like an arena-core parody of what some fans want Architects to return to. What an utterly bizarre thing it is for them to go from Seeing Red (essentially a fuck off- song to their older (vocally negative) fans, to this song that's so by the numbers it feels like it must be part 2 of Seeing Red? The heavy parts chug and have phrases ended by a growl. The chorus feels like a new-Architects chorus (not gonna lie, I like it though), and the ending is so stupidly heavy it's hard to take it seriously. I get how it might be a frustrating place for Architects to be in. They were the torchbearers for metalcore for years, I mean how many bands were weighed down by being called (right or wrong) Architects-lite? Tom passed, which obviously and understandably changes things personally and musically. They went a new direction and some people will always rebel against it. I've personally made my peace with Architects not being one of my go-tos any longer, there are so many good bands populating the scene. As long as the lads are happy with their music, who am I to complain? This though? The guys went o the studio after Seeing Red and decided to stick to whatever this style is? Pair the video (can I just say I hate the video? Ugh, it's too much, imo) with the formulaic song, it feels pretty calculated to be honest. Arena music where they try to pull in people from both camps of Architects fans. I get it, they're professional musicians, they have different priorities than Joe Shmoe playing and uploading a few songs from his garage just for fun. But this is so empty, it feels devoid of any meaning deeper than the surface.
I'm not a mad fan of Architects but I did enjoy this song. Get the feeling though that it'll be one I enjoy for a week or two and then don't really come back to. Was interested to hear your thoughts though so I appreciate you uploading this, even though it might get a bit of negativity. Don't let people straw-manning your opinions/thoughts get to you. ;)
It's very clear you're a superfan of Architects based on how you've lashed out at multiple comments, calling them ignorant and such. You're wearing some pretty heavily tinted glass there, bud. These are valid criticisms and it doesn't matter if you don't like it.
As someone who is going to see Bullet and Trivium play their now 20 year old albums in full at the O2 in two weeks.... If it wasn't for heavy songs with extremely melodic choruses, metalcore wouldn't exist as a genre at all. It's not new. It's not a modern trend. It's been happening since at least 2005 when all these albums came out. Nothing this band does brings you happiness I honestly don't know why you bother.
They absolutely are forcing it, not a big fan of any of their new tracks. It's also so painfully obvious that some of the best aspects are the Jordan fish influence. While I do think this is better than their last album, that's not saying a whole lot.
People saying this is the most heavy architects song Songs like: early grave, broken cross, nihilist "yeahh sure is the heavy" but yeah the song is fine is a banger
"It's fun, but I don't really feel much" sums it up pretty well for me. I wanna like it, but I think I've also just cooled down on them. Curse was my favourite from their recent singles, because it captured that Jordan Fish influence the best. Other than that it all feels a bit uninspired.
Answer yes. Hollow Crown won't ever be beaten on that "heavyness" scale for them. I'm past them now just don't trigger my "ohhh that's fucking awesome" gland no more.
I believe they had enough of us giving them backlash for not being heavy, so now they are like screw it here you go. So I don’t think it’s forced. I’m enjoying the new stuff. Hats off to the guys and Jordan Fish on the Production
I like it more on repeated listens, but my biggest gripe is that it doesn’t feel like it has a rhythm or groove to it. It’s so all over the place with its beat and riffs that it’s distracting, so I also feel like they’re doing too much to make it heavy that I wish moments would breathe a little bit. This album has me tugging my collar a bit.
I'm going to echo a common opinion of many of their fans, their songs just don't hit. I don't know if it's the more modern sound and mix, but they just are not the same as something like Holy Hell, or even FTTWTE. It just sounds like your normal metalcore, but for me, Architects are meant to be something more than that, and they just aren't that anymore. I hope that with the release of the album I actually enjoy it, but right now it just doesn't hit.
My issue I realised with this track, is how “emotionless” or “devoid of character” the riffs have. Listened to it twice, put on Gone With The Wind and Hereafter, and both have more character in their riffs within the first minute. I listen to Architects for fun technical riffs, not “generic metalcore detuned chugs”. And yeah, I agree, the heavy feels forced, they just want to write clean arena singy choruses, the heavy feels forced because there’s no attempt to create a good transition between them.
Honestly, this the best song since holy hell. For those that wish to exist was a watered down version of them and a producer's nightmare. Classic symptoms was a gathering of some lil fun tunes. This is the architects I loved.
I agree with everything. I keep saying I dont necessarily want *heavy* Architects, I just dont want these kind of cheesey, jarring and out of place choruses that ruin whatever they have going. Seeing Red for example does this "We're heavy because you keep whinning to us to be heavy!" And it just comes across as cringe, Curse has a cool riff that gets ruined immediately by the chorus. The next two songs are definitely more fun, but have the same problem.
Architects : "Not heavy enough"
Architects "heavy forced"
they cant win xD
Considering their choruses ruin every song now, it's valid.
They really can't LMAO
I think most fans couldn't care less if they're heavy or not, they just want it to be good 🤷

I agree, I also don’t really agree with his statement that they are forcing the heaviness. I don’t see why the song being really heavy with a clean chorus is an issue in this song, but not the countless other songs that he reacts to. I still enjoy his reactions but I just disagree on that point.
I do agree on the production being way too clean as it can get a bit repetitive and lack some punch, but that doesn’t take away from the songwriting for me as I feel this song is one of their strongest in a while
Im in love with that chorus.
Agreed, it's not bad, just painfully generic. There's nothing unique about this song.
That's not how things work dude, get off the high horse
exactly, on my comment on the original video the exact thing i pointed out was how extremely generic this is, but people will still be drooling over it because its Architects
One of their best songs since holy hell imo
Agreed
agreed brother
No….
@@abdullahkuzhan7247 yes, easily Abdul
Not difficult too lol
I think the problem is that Architects ruined their image and the audience perception of them. It doesn't matter if they make a heavy song again because we no longer see them as genuine. Going back and listening to Gravity, Hereafter, or Memento Mori, you really feel just how insincere their new music is, regardless of its heaviness.
Exactly!
Ruined their image and audience perception? They're bigger than they ever were. Animals exploded into their biggest song by a long fucking shot. Seeing Red is already bigger than all but 2 songs off of Holy Hell, and bigger than all but 2 songs off FTTWTE. AND bigger than all but 1 song off TCSOABH
Now sure it's easy to argue if maybe YOU don't like it, or some others don't.
@@tiarlyn The saying "bigger isn't always better" never rang more true.
The reaction from most fans to this song really does seem to be: heavy = good and it really doesn't. The guitar parts are so unimaginative - cut up 0-0-0-1 riffs are such a departure from what actually made architects inspiring and interesting - its not bad but its just not interesting to me in the same way architects used to grab me
you nailed it
Seeing Red was forced heaviness, but I suppose that was the entire point of the song being a bit of banter.
The "Distant Blue" is an exceptional song indeed.
that song its a masterpiece, i would do everything to had another album with the same sound as lost forever/lost together
It feels very corporate and sterilized, even as heavy as it is.
my favorite Architects song from recent years, I really liked the solo
They used to be one of the front runners now in trying to progress they've actually gone backwards into generic. The heavyness doesn't feel natural in these singles. The switch between them and Whitechapel is a good example as they went back to heavy effortlessly whereas Architects just feels like a "we can still be heavy guys we promise"
Watching this instead of studying for exam
Good luck man , hope you pass :)
thank you, but now go focus on your studying lol
The Jordan Fish formula wearing you down slowly?
No.
Kinda
He needs to focus on one project because all the bands he has worked with sound very similar it kinda gets boring in a weird way personally speaking.
Literally
@@limi. I mean, Jordan did Poppy's new album and most of the songs on that single album didn't even sound very similar.
"hey guys, jordan fish produces our songs now, you like heavy right?! this is heavy! jordan fish! hell yeah!"
I like the new song. I don't think the heaviness is forced, it represents the mayhem happening and I appreciate it.
I dont think heaviness is forced neither, I really liked this song, even the chorus
If it was forced the chorus wouldn’t be there
for me they need to work more with the heaviness stuff. this kind of band always makes my mind blown but now they just made their heavy stuff plain😓
nah nothing is forced in here except for the hate this idiot is spreading on the band for no reason at all
@@nikhilshakya51someone had to say it
Thank you for being honest Bogdan
But Jordan is only the producer from the album?
@deadlyspike9699 he writes the songs along with Sam and Dan.
Another guitar solo from architects - " A new morale low grounds " :)
i dont really care if they force the heavyness as long as the song is good, i liked this one quite a bit! Curse > black hole > whiplash > seeing red
Exactly my rating, although I didnt like whiplash and seeing red
The “do Architects ever had a solo in their songs” really knocked me out… I listened them since Daybreaker I guess and can’t even remember one
I didn't liked any of the other singles, but this one slaps so hard. The best chorus since gravedigger.
My feelings on Architects are like my feelings on Star Wars. I love the originals (first albums), I equally love the prequels (later albums), but the new stuff is so unlike that and imo not good, I find it hard to enjoy anything they do with it now cause I almost feel like they’ve lost the magic for good
I can't find the video you did on Lastelle? Surely you did a video on Lastelle last year, all year last year...
God damn I love that chorus so much
This song was good at first, but unfortunately it suffered the same fate as whiplash. It fell off really fast for me. It's not a bad song by any means. I see why people like it. Maybe Architects is just not for me anymore.
This sounds a lot like their old stuff so not sure what you are wanting.
@CanadianGr3atness it doesnt sound like their old stuff at all.
I saw someone describe it as "baby's first metalcore" 😂
This is how I feel. Sam just feels like a different vocalist. They feel more cheesy.
Architects try to write a song by only using choruses, again, challenge
I'm loving this new phase of 'Architects'. The big challenge for bands today is knowing how to make these transitions from heavy to clean sound without sounding cliché and they have managed to do so. Nowadays, only boring bands have appeared on the scene but they have remained on top in my opinion.
This song represents the spirit of archtitects. its heavier but you hear new and old architects combined. i love it!
They had a solo before on "a new moral low ground". :)
ok fair enough, i forgot about that album as soon as I listened to it for the first time
@@bogdanhxclmaooo
@@bogdanhxcit’s also not really a solo, kinda just some noise
@@wallysnakes2690 if im remembering correctly it was some few leads that lasted no more than 10 seconds, i was losing my shit when i saw people call that a "solo". Not to be elitist or anything but no thats not a guitar solo lmao. This one on this song was a way better example
learn to live(2011)???
Remember when this band used to write riffs?
Lifeless, plain, unimaginative... (not only the riffs)
Video was cool tho!
[Now i understand why a lot of people say Randy LeBoeuf is a top tier producer in the scene and practically everyone that knows him and his work, praises him]
I definitely agree with your point. I’d say I didn’t FEEL the song
No matter what this is one of the only song i've cared for by them in a long time so i'm happy
Haters - Architects isn’t heavy anymore.
Architects gets heavy
Haters - No….not like that
I agree with you here on the chorus thing... It sounds so polished. I wish bands stop doing that but also I can see why people like it too... Sam's singscream is the best in the genre, looks like they're not doing it anytime soon.
I think the chorus is awesome in this song. For me the "new" architects is a more "complete" band instead of the old one.
The thing is that we have so much better metalcore coming out these days like Invent Animate and many others “smaller” bands that it seems like they left their creativity on the golden days and are just following the chart of modern metalcore just like FIR
hmm
this is probably my favorite single out of the 4 but idk if ill check out the full album cus it all kinda blends in the same, and i've kinda grown tired of this type of metalcore sound if im gonna be honest.(not bad, just not my thing i suppose). i did like the solo the most tbh.
i wont complain much, architects honestly gave me my favorite albums to listen to in highschool and i love every record they've put out except the last one(once again, not bad just not my thing lol).
on a side note for any guitarists: are they playing in regular drop g# tuning or their normal g# tuning? i noticed in the music video it looks like he's playing in drop g# but i honestly can't tell lol.
I cant really explain or put into words what i feel about this song or the new albums singles alltogether but im trying to explain
Its a catchy song and ive had it on repeat the day it came out, but overall i dont think its a song i would come back to lets say in a few months time
Compared to for example their All our Gods have abandoned us album, all these new singles (also their last album) lack *something*
I dont know but i feel All our gods have abandoned us has such a unique sound overall, I keep catching myself wanting to listen to that album to experience THAT unique sound again.
Blackhole will not achieve that
Whiplash will not achieve that.
I bet that this chorus will sound much better in live conditions when there is (hopefully) not much other extra than raw emotion, skill and energy!
glad I'm not the only one feeling a sort of ick with these architects singles, the vibes are off
I mean, it's the first good song since Holy Hell. Doesn't sound forced to me. Just sounds fun.
I'm not a mad fan of Architects but I did enjoy this song. Get the feeling though that it'll be one I enjoy for a week or two and then don't really come back to. Was interested to hear your thoughts though so I appreciate you uploading this, even though it might get a bit of negativity. Don't let people straw-manning your opinions/thoughts get to you. ;)
Best track since holy hell!
Can’t satisfy anyone. 🙄
It's very clear you're a superfan of Architects based on how you've lashed out at multiple comments, calling them ignorant and such. You're wearing some pretty heavily tinted glass there, bud. These are valid criticisms and it doesn't matter if you don't like it.
@ lol nah only valid from people who enjoy nothing more than to be edgy and negative. 🤡
@@Dodogama5474he likes Memphis mayfire. Which is just the worse version of this current architects.
While I do think this is better than their last album, that's not saying a whole lot.
lol ignorant comment. Just complaining to be complaining at this point
It is what it is, I don't hate it by any means but it does feel like they've lost every ounce of originality they once had.
People saying this is the most heavy architects song
Songs like: early grave, broken cross, nihilist "yeahh sure is the heavy" but yeah the song is fine is a banger
"It's fun, but I don't really feel much" sums it up pretty well for me. I wanna like it, but I think I've also just cooled down on them. Curse was my favourite from their recent singles, because it captured that Jordan Fish influence the best. Other than that it all feels a bit uninspired.
I like it that the song has a solo and the breakdown is interesting. I'll be honest, that chorus is big but I don't like it. Cool video.
So heavy I can breathe again! The chorus...feels right...it is very tuned...but it is intended that way.
Honestly I didn’t feel like the chorus was out of place here although I do think the one in Curse was.
This is the architects I loved.
i find it interesting how many people don't like these choruses bcuz i can't get enough of em 😩😩😩
My favorite single since the Holy Hell album
The solo is freaking amazing though. But I miss the "old" riffs, not just chugs and junts.
The next two songs are definitely more fun, but have the same problem.
yeah, its a jordan fish song.
