Hi, I have taken 2 cuttings of purple heart plant 10 days back and put them in glass bottle filled with water for root development. But after 1 week the leaves started to shrink and close. I am from Delhi and it's extreme cold here right now. I have kept it near South window so that the cutting should get bright indirect sunlight. Plz help me save these cuttings. I don't want them to die. How can I keep the cutting alive n growing throughout the winter season, Plz Plz suggest.

I have one growing in a cereal bowl (maybe 2 inches deep max). Pretty shallow. It was propagated from a single stem and 2 new shoots have even come up. I'd say something like a saucer is too shallow but a cereal bowl is fairly shallow and mine is doing great in there.

Add some asafetida(hing) and a tablepoon of dettol in water and spray on your plants. It is a very effective way to get rid of ants.
