I was so lost and so broken because of the abuse and the religion I grew up with that I now come to believe is more of a cult. Long story short. One day a girl … a beautiful girl showed up on my doorstep and said , hi, Jesus put you on my heart today! I knew her only through her sister who was kinda a mess like me. Now… seriously, who would not want to get to know this kind of Jesus ?! That began the most beautiful wounderful relationship between me and God!!! So intimate… so sweet! And I will never walk away!!!😄

My baby brother just passed away in September and I am battling depression and addiction and currently am on day 5 of sobriety again and when I've had dark thoughts of wanting to give up or not even be here anymore I kept hearing in my spirit "THE ROCK. STAND ON THE ROCK" and this song with pop in my head. God revealed to me that if we stand on the rock we might get wet and we might get hurt and we might get bruised and we might get a little banged up but we won't be destroyed and there's a peace and comfort in knowing that. Focus on the Rock, not the storms.

I just love this one!! I often hear the words in my head. I think it is The Holy Spirit because it’s ALWAYS when I need it the most!!! I remember this from my childhood. Not everything from then was good and I actually do not remember MOST of it because God gave me this … well, not sure what you’d call it , but I’d disappear in my mind somewhere safe and come back when the “ yelling “ stopped. Yep, it was that bad. But it was a religious home so I at least had that going for me and I remember this hymn so well. Funny how music is like that. I have tried to explain that to people. That bad music , even if you don’t think it’s bad , if it’s not Christian , you never know what affect it it having inside .. In your soul, your spirit… Which, if you call yourself Christian then that means it is supposed to be Gods home. Oh how I long to see Him face to face!!!😁😎

I love the lyrics, and I love the song, but sometimes it's hard to listen to. Not because of the lyrics, but because of who is singing it. It's not like I don't like the artist or his voice, but I love it so much more when everybody in the church is standing and singing it instead. It sounds so beautiful to hear all of their voices together, all loving God in one place.
The Lord opened my heart and "eyes" to see that CMA music if we can call it that; is NOT worship to our Great God but entertainment for the flesh. We know that the works of the flesh is death. Thank you Lord for bringing me to love the hymns. Amen
