STORY
Ilaignan (Youth) tells the story of a young man who fights against the exploitation of workers by a shipbuilding company owner. The film is set in the year 1959 and stars Pa. Vijay, Meera Jasmine, and Suman in the lead roles.
The film follows the story of Gorky (Pa. Vijay), a young man who works at a shipyard owned by Rajanayagam (Suman). Rajanayagam is a ruthless and cruel man who treats his workers with disdain. He pays them low wages and forces them to work long hours in dangerous conditions.
Gorky is outraged by the treatment of his fellow workers, and he decides to stand up to Rajanayagam. He organises the workers into a union and demands better working conditions. Rajanayagam refuses to give in to Gorky's demands, and he fires him from his job.
Gorky is determined to continue his fight for the rights of workers. He rallies the support of the other workers and stages a protest at the shipyard. Rajanayagam tries to crush the protest with violence, but Gorky and the workers refuse to back down.
In the end, Gorky and the workers are victorious. Rajanayagam is forced to agree to their demands, and the workers are finally treated with respect. Ilaignan is a powerful and inspiring film about the struggle for workers' rights. It is also a celebration of the human spirit and the power of collective action.
