    Methadone is medication. There are 40+ years of evidence-based research that shows opioid addiction is a metabolic disorder (Diabetes is also a metabolic disorder, so the comparison of the two diseases is appropriate as is the comparison between the pharmacologic component of each of those disease's treatment) and a chronic, relapsing disease of the brain. The National Institutes of Health in a consensus panel statement said methadone is the "gold standard" treatment for opioid addiction.

    There's all.sorts of crap goi g on in alot oftnese maintenance programs. I'll die on this. I should have stayed on this instead of listening to my starry eyed Counselors. I was worried about the stigma. I should have been worried about my life.
