- [Stereo feed] Solo appearance featuring one song with guitar, and the second done without. She really bares her soul on both compositions and performances. Brief interview snippets are also shown.
Probably the most misunderstood artist of all time.People think she is a one hit wonder but all her albums are amazing
I watched this from start to finish and Damien, I thought the exact same thing. Completely misunderstood. But most people don't understand art in either the true or broad sense of the word. On the one hand she commands pity but on the other hand, awe and respect, and admiration. She's an amazing, beautiful & talented soul.
I would NEVER use that phrase to describe her. One-hit wonders didn't have amazing [multiple] albums. I'd describe her as someone who was consistently great & whose least enjoyable piece accidentally made it to the top-40.
He didn't describe her as a one hit wonder--quite the contrary actually. Read the comment again.
I don't know anyone who thinks Sinead is a one hit wonder, that is a phrase that would never be associated with her.
@@TheLastPharm I'll rephrase. No one thinks she is a one-hit wonder. Not sure where he is getting his information.
I’m glad I was on the planet at the same time as her. ❤
Me too!❤
Absolutely!! I wouldn’t be the same person. 💛
This voice...is why I get up each day, why life is worth living.
Absolutely amazing to see how many people from across the world loved Sinéad and her songs. Coming from the same town in Ireland as Sinéad O'Connor I, and many others probably took her for granted. Little did we know that we were soon to lose a national treasure, an icon. We should have taken more care of her. Suaimhneas síorraidhe a Shinéaid. Beidh tú i n-ár gcroidhe go deo na ndeor. Ní bheidh do leithéid ann aríst. Ba fhíor Gheadheal thú. Go codladh tú go sámh a Shinéaid. 😢🇮🇪
Beautifully put. X❤
I've been listening to this song for 30 years and it guts me every time.
If you know you know.
Me too
Pure transcendant bliss. Voice and guitar...perfection.
still listening her songs for over 30 years she is such a great artist and human being
Such a true artist and Icon. 💛
I can't think of any vocalist that can sound simultaneously as tender, powerful and haunting as Sinead O'Connor. Her voice is otherwordly... within a few notes of listening, you are on another plane of existence until the last note is sung. And then you feel hollow, like the music filled you and pushed everything else out of you but now the music has drained away. Her a capella pieces are eerie in that it feels like there WERE instruments playing but her singing has completely silenced them, as if any other music dare not disturb the purity of her voice
Cats Pajamas she is unreal. Even on this unpredictable tech she’s dealing with, she is just damn near perfect. Real beats everything that’s not real.
she's one of those rare musicians we should all get down on our knees and worship (in a secular or non-secular way depending on preference). She's been moving me to tears with her genius since I was 12. All the love to you Sinead
@@maevelonie1124 I’m 76 and she still moves me to tears! Just listen to ”Troy” for exemple and you know what i mean.
@@troybalthazor9068 Acapella. It's brilliant.
Elegantly put
"You used to hold my hand when the plane took off" just gets me every time.
No auto tune Just pure talent
Sinead put her heart soul and Irish ness into her music which is an all encompassing soul of humanity . She is missed!
Rest in Power to one of Ireland's greatest talents. Such sad and tragic news
She has one of the most beautiful, pure voices I’ve ever heard. And her songwriting ability is amazing.
RIP, Sinead. Such a beautiful voice.
she will be remembered for her outspoken bravery. i just watched her biography on paramount + . She is extraordinary. When you lose a child the grim reaper comes for you. I love her.
Yes, I agree with you.😢
Rest in peace Sinead. I can't believe your gone. How lucky we are that lived to hear your voice
❤
Yes, we are!!!
A poet of philosophy, a heartbreak storyteller, and Divine Voice of the etheral realm🕊🕊🕊🪽🪽
No one does melancholy like the Irish!!! Her voice absolutely stunned me into tears at times. For me she is one of the top three all time greatest emotive soul singers male or female I've ever heard. When you think that the Lion and the Cobra was written mostly between her being 17 and 19 is mental, beyond mind blowing.
That's my favourite album. Must've listened to it start to finish a hundred times.
Absolutely. I was still picking my nose at that age. I guess that's talent.
Absolutely amazing album! Incredible voice paired with beautiful songs - tender with bursts of a huge range of raw power and emotions that pull you into her world.
remarkable the irishown celtic charms
I used to listen The lion and the cobra on cassette until it broke
She's not of this planet... Incredible voice, honour, intelligence and beauty.
Watching and crying in a bath over the loss of this beautiful woman today, Wednesday July 26th 2023.
I've seen Sinead twice live in concert and watched hundreds of live recordings. This is the greatest recording of her singing live, with her guitar. It is as haunting, emotional and pure as any singer will ever be.
How lucky you are!
Her voice is hunting , magical, pure amazingly beautiful I love her ❤
*haunting - gobshite
Ridiculously powerful voice!
Chi è ridicolooooo?
Well I accidentally stumbled down a Sinead O'Connor RUclips rabbit hole of videos. I really can't think of a female singer with a better voice.
L agree with you. Ryan really thrills me about her songs.
Shit, I just did the same! .....What a true legend Sinead is.
I love Sinead. But Sade is more unique and the best. Lol ~
Sia
@@guitar11diary oooh, both are wonderful but Sinead has gone deeper I feel.
Ireland will never see such a female Singer like her again so powerful in all her Music. Sinead May You Rest In Peace. Ireland/Irish Best.
Yes, I agree!❤
Sinead has been with me on my life journey. I found her music when I was in my early 20's. Im over 50 now, and I say thank you for sharing your gift.
You are lucky to discover her music early unliked me. I just discovered her efter her passing. It's my lost😢😢😢 and I'm trying to rectify it. Now I am an obsessed fan.
Possibly one of the best vocal performances ever. Just wow.
I think it is the best one recorded.
The best singer in the world
Thank you for posting this. Simply beautiful. She will be missed.
A beautiful human being. Oh, that voice. A lovely soul
Minha Rainha da Irlanda Sinéad O'Connor é a única e melhor voz de todos os tempos. Não será esquecida através do legado lindo e incrível que nos deixou. Vou te ouvir e amar sempre minha diva.❤
This is my favorite live performance of this song. Thank you so much for the music Sinead. Your voice will always with me ❤
An amazing human being.we are blessed to have experienced this.👍😁🇦🇺
We all owe a huge apology to her
Not me. I have always adored her in all of her manifestations. She is more than a woman. She is an ever evolving spirit, searching for something always just a little out of reach.
@@svendbosanvovski4241 I agree. I've always loved the hell out of her. Strange thing is it wasn't as much until I heard and saw her speak. I now adore her severely.
Speak for yourself please ! If you need to apologise then do so. You don't speak for me thanks. Sinead has always been a unique artist with a phenomenal talent, and as far as I know doesn't do apology.
That’s very true. She was severely treated by the press and even her own audience. Sinéad is a true artist. Always was and always will be.
Alhamdulillah she found Islam. God is entirely merciful. 😇🥰
Your voice ❤❤❤❤ thanks that have you been for us
Miss you
She is easily the most talented vocalist that we may ever see again
RIP what a performer
you may read this Sinead i dont know, but i have to tell you that i love you, and im just an ordinary man from Serbia
Bon sang je sais pourtant que quand je vais voir ses yeux je vais craquer et bien je craque encore et encore 😢❤❤❤
Sinead, if you're seeing this I love you so much.
Sinéad was not but 22 years of age here, a year before she became famous across the world. What a beautiful soul. Something so pure, so true about that voice. Something so vulnerable about it, about her. We need to look after her.
By this time, I had memorize her entire first album The Lion and the Cobra. Most only know her for her rendition of Nothing Compares to U but her true fans loved her long before 1990. You are so correct in saying how pure and vulnerable her voice was. Her soul and pain was always present in her eyes. I have never been so connected with an artist nor have I ever respected an artist as much as her. The world treated her so horribly for speaking the truth but her true supporters never left her side. Sending love xxoo
Where are the singers like this today? None, lost expression.
Probably the worlds best female vocalist!
Just discovered her Amazing talent...and few day later i seem the awful news of her passing away...the fate it's strange .....wonderful artist....Amazing and Deep woman...thank you...
Listen to "Troy"
Beautiful ♥ Rest in peace ♥
i hear your Musik .. in Memories now i am 56 jears but never forget you .......................
It's a truly extraordinarily talented singer that sing unaccompanied and completely captive. Rip sweetness
RIP. Incredible talent and sensitive soul.
Sinead i he very definition of an angel on earth tortured, beautiful, soulful & ethereal 💕
A lamb, a scorned woman, an angel and hurt child singing all at once. Rest in power Sinead.
Anyone who can take a Prince song and outdo him musically deserves all our respect ;)
Yes, that's true!
Merci pour ta musique et ta belle voie tristesse et hommage☘☘ pour toi de France.☘♥🎶.
What a clear voice. She has a gift.
ain't we have all..its just to listn to our own heart instead.
This is the last day of our acquaintance Sinead.😢 Love you always!❤ Amazing musician
On the day of her final resting this song seems even more pertinent… ❤you Sinead
I can barely breathe because of the raw, real, visceral talent in this PERFECT pair of performances. FANTASTIC.
Visceral!!! Thats the word!!! Thats what I've been searching for thank you !
I love the song I do not want..., I think it sounds like she's singing a sacred prayer. Notice how she keeps her eyes closed while she's singing it, that song is Sinead showing how purely gifted she is! I actually played it years ago for my grandmother back when she was still alive, my grandma really LOVED it and thought it was a really nice song!!! I like Sinead because she is not afraid to be exactly who she is, no apologies, no messing around with her hair and makeup to fit some Hollywood standard of beauty. The girl has guts and heart!!!
She chokes me up every time I listen to her. She is pure art and emotion.
SHE IS AN ANGEL
A conduit for divinity.... honestly that is spirit moving through her.
Sinead has such a pure voice, I could listen to her vocals all day
Reminding myself of why we loved her on this sad day. Fly high angel x
This is so heartbreaking 💔
J'ai le même âge que toi ma belle, dans 20 ans et plus je continuerai toujours de t'écouter, pour rester en vie, je t'aime infiniment ❤❤😢❤
Sinead rips through some archetypal stories that we can remember when we are just so, like a dream, like the past and the future. Like a Light. Thank you.
I've never been her rock fan, but she always had my deep respect. This is a great song, very captivating and minimalist. A charming and talented being this Sinéad. Queen of the nineties.
Voice of an angel
Would like to meet her in her age of 30 and sad to her that she is amazing, beautiful, talented young woman. Brilliant vocalist and pure soul. I hope she finally find her happiness❤
One of the most raw, authentic, deep human being exosing her entire soul in every song. My Heart touched deeply every time I listen to her and look at her extraordinary beauty.
Still here 32 years later Sinead
What an outstanding performance. I was about 13 or 14 years old when I became an SO fan; been one of her biggest fans ever since! Thanks for posting this fantastic performance! Now go and listen to her song, Back Where You Belong!
2021. she still moves me....so much fragility and strenght at the same time....exquisite vocal range and colours .....and the most honest eyes i've ever seen.....So much tragedy for just one person. Love and respect her
I had the great fortune to see Sinead when she first came to the US, her first stop in Boston, at the Paradise, just after her first album had come out. She was, in a word, AMAZING! She didn't make any small talk, it was almost like she was way too shy, from what I remembered. But it was awesome. All these years later, I still cherish all her albums. I never tire of hearing her voice.
Irish bearing their souls is always mystical.
RIP Sinead.. thank you for everything
Purest most fierce soul ever. Live on, bluebird.
Perfect, perfect, perfect!!!
Hardly any singers today can sing perfectly a capella. 99% need auto tune.
My gifts are for all to know living..human form and beyond infinite 💗💕🙏🙏 we miss the vessel 🙏💕 she is in all of us always 💙💜❤️ everyone 🙏
THANKS FOR ALL!! 🖤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Forever Beautiful Sinead. 🤍 I love this recording. Who...who can still sing like that these days...
Qu'elle voix sublime !
Quel talent !
What a power in her voice!! A big artist!!
this song still gives me chills stirring lyrics..............
Her songs always make me cry for some reason. Love her
Me too!!!! No matter how many times I listen to the same song !
I've always loved how just honest and powerful she is in her music.
LOVELY SINHEAD THE VOICE OFF AN ANGEL,xx
she will be forever one of a kind, nobody can come close to her in certain ''areas'' i envy her, amazing human being and artist
this is just unfuckingbelievably awesome
raw human emotion channeled through a living angel's voice
stunning. it reminds me of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, written by Richard Bach. she's a rare bird. bless her.
Great book, great comparison 👍🏼
This world was never made for one as beautiful as you Ms. O’Connor.
Gosh she's the epitome of perfect FACE
Still loving her all these years. No better Singer. The Most Beautiful Woman Ever. Can't wait to see you again SINEAD 💚💚💚💚💚
Pure, unadulterated talent!!!!
RIP you beautiful creature ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😢
so much sadness and pain in her voice. and yet sounds like an angel.
and now....
God this brings me back
Those were the days
Her voice is just so amazing!!! How many vocalists can pull something like "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" off..... not many...
Sinéad is a poet singer. Emotions vibrates around her when she sings. So many years have past since her first albums but still singing powerful text. Can’t wait till her next album.
🕊 Only Love, forever & ever love!
I had this album I can’t remember how many years ago way way back must be over 30 years, still feels as good tbh. And I haven’t heard it in years. It feels like yesterday
How am I just discovering her.. She is a legend
I remember seeing this years ago...when she looked into the camera...it was a knife in my heart..xxx
^_^
here 3:19
She went to school not far from me. She is about 4 years older than me but she is not lying about her drive to be the center of attention, she is famous for it. I heard her sing live in Temple Bar area in Dublin and she gave me goosebumps, I cant remember the year but it was mid 80's.
Ps Rip Karl Kelly, I miss ya mo chara x.
I pray she saw some of these comments before she passed, and that she was comforted and validated. I fear that did not happen. Bipolar illness takes so many
This is an awesome song, I've always loved. She looks awesome in this video. Very few women can wear their hair so short and still be such a beauty but, she is able to do it with a beautiful heart and soul and a lot of class.
