I remember standing at the bus stop in Bridge Street waiting for the bus with my mum in the 1960's just a little distance away from the town hall. It is all pedestrianised now but traffic would flow through the town centre then. I was hoping there would be a picture of the cattle market as I remember going with my dad, and seeing livestock for sake, then it turned into stalls selling clothes and fruit and veg etc. Now it's all been bulldozed down and I think they are building houses/flats there. How towns change so much!!
I used to live in Peterborough from 87 to 92 it was a great little city when I left I returned a couple of years ago after a long time away just for a weekend and was very disappointed at what the city has become,I still have many great friends there and a beautiful daughter living in Peterborough
Why not do another on 5year changes around the whole of the areas incl the town from the 60s onwards as I don't suppose many have seen the area changes and why not add the news of those years as headlines to complete a more in- depth look of the culture i.e schools.sport.housing.clubs .pubs.venues.youth clubs.there so much more history and changes happens in this town .since the late 60s /early 70s. Kind regards
Lived here all my life (i know) and its been ok not as bad as you hear, but now its nothing more than a dumping ground for asylum seekers and everything and i mean everything is being turned into a block of flats.
As someone who lives in Peterborough, this gave me a new appreciation for it.
Excellent video. The transitions were really good 👍🏻
Great video,👍 love the way each picture merges into the next. 👌 The Clock going backwards on the lido was a nice touch. 👏.

Anyone know who Paul Bryan is who was credited with some of the photos here?
