Gainwell only had about 100 touches, and I expect Saquon to take Swift’s 250+, and maybe a bit more. He should do very well now that he has a competent offense to play in.
I don’t disagree he should do well. In fact I think he’ll finish as a top-10 guy. What I don’t think will happen is the Eagles offense elevating him to top-3, true difference-making status. So if he’s just a top-10 guy (which is still great), then that means he’s probably not very different than 7-8 other RBs, and a good majority of those RBs are probably younger/safer for dynasty because of their age. That’s the risk I see with Saquon.
I actually sold saquon and a 2024 2nd last year to get achane. I probably overpaid but it was at a bad time when saquon was banged up...that being said i dont regret it especially considering I have JT and Kamara not to mention jaylen wright stashed away as well. I totally agree with these takes.

The problem with betting on him to be the new CMC is that Saquon wasn’t a league-winner like CMC was prior to going to a new team, so it’s not surprising that CMC was still a league winner on a new and better team. Saquon’s production can increase by 10-15% and that still wouldn’t make him much different than maybe a handful or so other RBs, all probably younger too.
10SF Start 12. Offseason traded Saquon, Hollywood, Hock, and D. Watson for Burrow, Lockett, and 2 4ths. So far I love the pivot that got me my QB1. I traded risk for risk, but I believe in Burrow in the long run vs holding bags on at least 50% of these guys.

I think I prefer the Etienne and 1.11 side on this. That 1.11 is pretty much guaranteed to be one of BTJ/Worthy/Brooks. Pair that with Etienne and with you going to start 12, I prefer the 2 > 1

My argument isn’t that Barkley going to Philly won’t help him *at all*, it’s that I believe we are OVERVALUING how much it’ll help him. And to the CMC comparison, CMC was already a league-breaking RB in Carolina, and then went to SF and continued being a league-breaking RB. Saquon has been a backend RB1 for multiple years now, so I don’t expect Philly to suddenly make him an RB1. Look at CMC’s PPG averages: 2017 (CAR): 14.3 PPG 2018 (CAR): 24.1 PPG 2019 (CAR): 29.5 PPG 2020 (CAR): 30.7 PPG 2021 (CAR): 18.2 PPG 2022 (CAR): 19.7 PPG 2022 (SF): 21.7 PPG 2023 (SF): 24.5 PPG So did SF really help CMC?

Players can return to play faster, but it takes 3yrs to return to form. So his age should be viewed as having 2yrs of additional tread on the tires. You can’t move an asset based on the last couple year’s production on a terrible team that is on a massive upward trajectory. The potential value of that asset, with the potential to repeat as RB1, is worth way more than you could get right now. I’m tired of hearing about Hurts too! You do understand that his rushing TDs last year are inflated, due to the amount of times an Eagles RB or WR was stopped at the 1-2yd line? It’s the main reason DeAndre Swift isn’t there anymore. They got Barkley, to use Barkley! Kelce retired & they don’t want Hurts diving in piles, taking shots. They want their big money QB to be able to throw to their big money WRs. I’m a Niners fan, so I fully understand how awesome CMC is. The Niner’s offensive scheme puts players in position to succeed & play to their strengths. The attempt to list CMC’s PPG kinda backfired. If you look at his last couple years in Carolina, while also playing on a TERRIBLE team, his numbers were down. Goes to the Niners, BOOM, the numbers shoot up. PPG resurgence. CMC’s PPG dropped because he got hurt in 2020 and was in and out in 2021, that’s why he wasn’t as good before going over to SF. I even showed in the video that if Saquon matched Swift’s production last year, but with 5 more TDs because he didn’t get tackled on the 1 all the time like Swift, he still would’ve been the RB13 last year. The risk of holding a 27yo RB at his value is just so high in dynasty for minimal return on that value from a production standpoint. If Barkley gets hurt again, his value will tank just like Chubb or Ekeler.
