@@cstomp1 BFTA is my favorite Dokken record by far. there is no filler on that album. "Burning Like A Flame" should have been a top 10 hit. The song today still sounds fresh and is memorable. I would like for Don to tell a story about what happened to the band from the time this album was released, until the end of the summer MOR tour in '88. it seems like he rarely speaks about that time as if he's embarrassed or regrets that time or is in denial that he is to blame for the band breaking up
Man would be a dream come true if the legend himself Don dokken replied to my comment, just wanna tell you how much happiness your songs have brought me, fantastic band, your the Boss. Stay healthy keep doing what your doing love the interesting vids. 24 yr old who never gets tired of your albums
I will say one thing...we appreciate your videos....as a musician and a fan...thank you....you dont have to do this. ... but I met you one night in St. Louis Missouri....at Mississippi nights...a small club...it was the 1995 tour....and it was excellent....thank you!!!
Nice to know, well I created this private handle so i can get to reach my fans out there, and also i have been seeing your comments thought I should get to know my fans better ..
My sister took me to my first concert as a 16th birthday present. Dokken & Aerosmith at Hershey Stadium. Dokken was my favorite band so I was beyond excited. And it was everything I imagined it would be. I remember it like it was yesterday and I am 51 now. My sister passed away 2 years ago. That night is one of the best memories I have of her so I reminisce of it often.
Hilarious ! I remember buying my first Dokken Album Tooth & Nail in Nuremberg/Germany and from this day on i love the music. Listening now to Don talking about Bratwurst and Spiegelei mit Schinken makes me smile. A rockstar with lots of humor is always great !
Love your stories. They’re always fascinating. Been playing the album almost non-stop, it’s so good & a much valued piece of your history for all us fans. Stay safe and well! ❤️
Just got my 'Lost Songs' record on vinyl. First vinyl record I've bought since 1989 Bang Tango. Still have my Dokken vinyls. I told my wife that all I want fot Xmas is the Lost Songs' record. I just listened to it. I couldn't wait until Xmas. What a fun record!
Hi Don I love hearing your stories they are so fascinating. You have been putting a smile on my face since the 80's.You're Awesome!!!😀Stay safe and keep those stories coming. God bless!😀❤❤❤😀
Don, not sure if you are reading this or not? Dam, I am awake having trouble sleeping with all that BS going on in the world at the moment, but I put on the album, "Step Into The Light" and I must say again, you have one of the BEST voices and songwriting abilities in rock!!! Love it, man!!! Takes the problems away for a time! God bless you, sir!!!!!! Take care! A friend I have never met!
Music is the best gift we have in this world. Bless all the talented musicians who have given us such fabulous music to enjoy. Remember even though yes there is a lot of BS going on, there is also very good things happening too. Ying and Yang. Namaste 🙏
Hey don I recently discovered the album dysfunctional i really liked it damn super underrated music hope one day we will see a vinyl reissue for the first time
I found a classic rock site that lists Dokken's top 10 songs. It's subjective of course but that's not the point. All 10 of those were HITS! This band couldn't walk to the toilet without creating another hit song which i find amazing. From that site I saw "Just Got Lucky" which I'd forgotten about over the years so I use those top 10 for my RUclips "Reminder List" heh. Keep Rokken
“Must i feel so mistreated?, down a about the way that you treat me” its no love, still on fire, show me that you still have desire” If i give you all you need will you still be there for me? I dont think so, no no no “Down in flames, straight to the ground over you” This album is my favourite by far Hes the core the heartbeat of dokken, even without George 1990 was still amazing for Don
I really have been enjoying Up From The Ashes lately, and yes I realized that is his solo album. That album is perfect in every way, and yes that should have been the fifth album from the classic lineup of Dokken.
Hi Don, I'm 24 years old guitar player and vocalist from Czech republic and listening, shredding and singing your songs all day and night. So I recommend your music to all my friends. Thanx for legacy you left. Long live and keep Rokken with Dokken !
Thank you for the stories, the concerts, the music. Idk how many times I’ve been to a Dokken show, but I loved them all, though Monsters at the LA Coliseum in ‘88 was kind of a nightmare. That venue blows. See you in February. It would be cool if you added a San Diego gig (the HOB, the Observatory in North Park, or the Belly Up are all cool venues). \m/
Hello Mr. Dokken, I enjoy these posts when I get a chance to kick back here in the Canadian West. I would be really interested to hear about your touring in Europe during the Chernobyl crisis in 86' and vaguely remember a video a friend had of Jeff Pilson and Mr. Scary talking about it. Have you watched the HBO series yet?" Keep on Rocking in the Free World." #dumptrump2020
Great stories!! The reality of touring. I’m a security sup for Live Nation. Played & wrote music til my wrist broke & a tendon snapped. Music is in the soul. Thanks for sharing. Always loved ya guys!
I truly regret having to miss the Tooth And Nail show 😢 .... Kinda funny to think that I passed up on great seats to a killer show in order to be a manager at a woman's shoe store ......
Me and my friend Jimmy just started a band and we were wondering if we ever play live after coved 19 what songs would we play so first we put a couple Van Halen songs on there then some warrant song then some Lynch mob songs and then Jimmy said let’s do some Dokken songs so we put its not love dream warriors and breaking the chains on there l always looked up to mic Browns drumming and that’s how l found out about Dokken
So Glad for the updates!! The Songs sound very cool!! Stay well Don, hope your health improves and you get back on the Road! Would love to see you in SE Mass. or Rhode Island!
I don't know if Don Dokken reads these but I am going right now to order the new album (wow that's a out of date word! Lol!) But how do I write to him and ask for an autograph? I went to ten concerts and was always up front so it was awesome but I really want an autograph! You were my absolute favorite rocker! I was going to marry you but some one else swept me off my feet, haha! Every inch of my walls had your picture in some form! Dad worked for DuPont and mixed a special royal purple color for me because I thought it was the coolest rocking color. But if anyone know tell me! It would make my life complete!
I know you probably won't see this, whether it's Don or the managers of the channel, but when everyone's able to get back on the road you guys should play some material from Erase the Slate and Long Way Home. That would be awesome.
Do you guys remember in the 90s playing with a kinda-small christian metal band called “Amariah” in a smaller venue in virginia called Jaxx nightclub? my father was the rhythm guitarist. Anyway, love you guys and your music. keep up the great work!
Hi Don! Very cool & interesting your adventures in Germany (Deutschland)! Did you also learn to say "Das ist gut" (that is good)? My family ancestry is German & Dutch. They originated in the Rhineland region then settled in the Dakotas in the US. I grew up in South Dakota & learned some basic German from my family then took classes in German through high school and college (conversational German). Your serendipitous encounter with The Police before they hit it big was a very special moment! They didn't realize it at the time nor did you probably that you both would be comsidered "classic rock" icons in the future! The 80s in particular were phenomenal musically because of the convergence of so many different styles of music simultaneously sharing the radio airwaves. A band could be a "nobody" like you said, and within a few months or a year breakthrough and become the most popular bands in the world. It was always exciting for me to see new bands on TV as well, like on MTV and American Bandstand. Now we have new music premieres on You Tube! Not quite the same though as seeing new bands featured in the early days of MTV and Headbanger's Ball, but still fun to see new music and bands however it shows up! I have been seeing many new talented Gen Z generation bands, female guitarists especially. Rock on! Gotta keep the Rock-N-Roll Spirit Alive! :) 🎸🎶

DOKKEN One of my favorite bands from the eighties! Thanks for all the great songs man.
In 2020, I've listened to Dokken more than any other artist. A lot of Back for the Attack.
