I played a decent green-white food deck last night and struggled a bit. I think a bit of splashing blue or red (or maybe even black) could have been a wiser choice for my drafting. Green makes splashing so easy.

I'm very surprised with how well I did. I got 7 wins with a green white food deck which was awesome because I had 3 generous ents and 3 of the 1 mana sorcery that gets a basic and a food. peregrin took is an absolutely insane card if you have any food generation and can win the game on his own. The other deck was a blue red deck with many instants and sorceries. I was also lucky to get phial of galadriel which is insane with ring tempts you cards with the draw and discard and also with other ways to draw cards in the late game. Overall I just wanna thank you for the great advice and also say that the black red deck is not the only viable one.
#RingPolish, loving how often I've gotten the Horn of Gondor/Rossie Cotton combo in these drafts. Last night I was able to add Erkenbrand in with those two cards and it was devastating.

I played draft with my friends last weekend, and my jeskai legends deck was awesome! Shadowfax, Flowering of the White Tree, and Landroval were powerhouses.

I played a Green black token sacrifice in my last draft & surprisingly went 7-1
Good insightful guide. I'd agree on all of the elements, but would like to add one thing:
The UG scry deck is by far the easiest shell to allow you to play 3-5 color legends. So UG base but then take basically every legendary bomb. Its been my go to 7 win deck.
The UG scry deck is, indeed, bad and loses to the removal based aggro decks. But the version that splashes the bombs like Doors of Durin is top tier competitive IMO.

Yeah I pretty much agree with those new rankings. Green-White and Green-Blue are real traps in sealed and very iffy to make work in draft unless you draft some of the dual colour powerhouses or at least A LOT of the synergistic pieces.
Funny how this colour ranking is essentially the direct opposite of the original video before the set came out.
Colors are generally pretty close which makes ranking them difficult, and I generally find myself drafting whatever is open anyway (as I believe that is generally correct) which makes color rankings more of an academic thing rather than something super applicable. I also think the strength of a color can be somewhat dependent on the drafter, as certain colors are naturally more tricky due to the sorts of cards those decks play (i.e. Blue can sometimes be harder for newer players because knowing how to use counterspells and play at Instant speed is tricky, and Green can be more difficult when it does a lot of splashing because that is also a more advanced skill). I think Top Commons are far more important than color rankings, as those can be viewed as signals (which is tremendously helpful in Draft), and I absolutely nailed those in my Guide! To address your other comments, I think Sealed is a place where the power level of your cards dictates things more than anything, and as such I feel if your best cards are in particular colors you should just play those. Draft is where you really have some agency to bias towards or away from certain colors. Hopefully these explanations clarify some of my thoughts on things, and thanks for sharing your perspective!

I'd also like to opine that Slip On The Ring is a really underrated card that I see come around quite a lot. Combining it with any ETB effect gives you more of that effect, lets you evade combat damage or destruction when blocking or being blocked, or even when being targeted by direct removal from the likes of Black or Red, and you get a bonus ring tempt. Win-win as far as I'm concerned. #RingPolish

Hi, i think the w/g food token deck should be played as a control deck where you splash black for the 2/3 flyer which does dmg for tokens
I've played abzan tokens deck in this set with differetn great rares and uncommons with huge synergies among them
I have not been able to get black white to work for me yet. I think I’m valuing some cards incorrectly there.

#RingPolish i played a draft last week where i drafted the green/blue scry deck and i was exactly 50/50. A white/black humans deck beat me and a blue/black counter removal deck just OWNED me. BUT when i did win i won hard. I was missing a few key pieces but i feel the elves deck is heavily slept on
Edit: I had zero Arwen Undomiels, and zero of the green blue Elrond.
Edit Edit: Also was yelled at for too many quotes and saying the names like the movies so DONT FEEL BAD :).

I played 7 rounds with a drafted selesnia food agrro deck, the sinergy was so busted and went 7-0. And played rakdos and went 0-5 🤣
BR needs a critical mass of cheap removal or else it can be garbo.
