For the archetype rankings, I feel that the archetypes are not that strongly tied to the colours. Like it is very viable to be blue green and play a strong incubate deck, or play control in blue white instead of aggro. It more depends on the cards you get for the color pair rather than what the color pair archetype is supposed to be. I feel like it is a trap to think "oh black, red is sacrifice so I should take cards that rely on that mechanic" instead of taking the cards that are good and not worrying about what the archetype of the colours you are in is supposed to be
I always end up in some weird blend of archetypes like Naya Counter Battles or Selesnya Incubate Counters. Ramping that white double striker with that green sorcery that distributes 4 +1counters and gives creatures vigilance n trample, muah chefs kiss!! The battle cards add such interesting syngery, with that 1mana green creature that untaps land n chips away at battles I flipped 2 battles in 1 game that was stalling out hard.
#TuneUp! I have just gotten into drafting this year (it's Winston Draft with my brother so it's not the full 8-person draft experience but it's still a lot of fun) and your videos are a great resource for us to improve our skills and increase our chances of success and levels of enjoyment. Thanks!
Thank you for valuable information once again! I still think BW is one of the better combinations, I went 7-2 yesterday on a draft in arena. I ended up with 3 norn's inquisitors, and 4 attentive skywardens, as well as the uncommon black and white enchantments that incubate and grant phyrexians extra abilities. I seldomly had to pay the flip costs, the skywardens did all the work every turn. This combined with the fact that black and white both have awesome removal spells which I managed to pick up a decent chunk of make me quite fond of this combination in the format. If I see incubate cards/removal and skywardens open I will def go at it again! Hope you are still enjoying the format, to me it's a close second to brothers war of the last years formats!
Hi, love your content. How would you draft around a pick 1 Sunfall? I got it as my first pick in pack 1 and ended up with a very mediocre deck because I was trying to force on death synergies. Would love to hear your take on this card and some of the other great bombs in the set.
I feel like you missed the red/white mechanic. While there are cards that focus on the backup effects, I feel as though the color combination lacks a lot of kick in the backup mechanic, where it truly shines is red/white equipment. with rares like Sram and the sword, uncommons like Valduk and Reyav (which if you get out early with an equipment does a LOT of damage) and even commons like beamtown beatstick. There's definitely a build for red white that focuses on equipment that I've personally used to do really good in draft settings.
UB and UG are more good stuff convoke decks than what their archetype are nominally supposed to care about imo. Yeah you will get value from the graveyard with Forager and Amonkhet in Dimir, and Simic might have a couple of more good transform cards they run. But that's all.
So far I would say that most archetypes are viable in MOM which is a huge step up from AWBO as Simic was basically unplayable. The speed is also a lot slower. I would actually say that control is just a touch better than everything else since most of the bombs are expensive so working towards those is the most reliable way to win.
Hi I’m building a “draft commander deck” with Jegantha The Wellspring and I’m the only investor in the “draft.” So far I’ve spent exactly $95.62 on 1 MOM Bundle ($55 GameStop 8 packs 40+ lands 8 of each color & free foil alt art Ghalta and Mavren), 2 MOM Draft Packs (Walmart 6 packs 3 to each draft pack $12.48 each) and 2 MOM set boosters (Walmart $6.48 each). I’ve pulled Jegantha/Omnath/& Begin The Invasion, 16 battles (no invasion of alara or ikoria), 20 Legendaries (8 uncommon) Eltali/Sheoldred are my Legendary flip creatures. My other flip creatures are only uncommon and common. My battle support creatures are all commons except for Rampaging Raptor, Rampaging Geoderm, & Rankle and Torbran. Other rare non legendaries are Boon-Bringer Valkyrie, Progenitor Exarch, & Bloated Processor. Board wipes are Rout/Sunfall. Traded Juri (Foil only copy), Dreg Recycler (only copy), & Etched Familiar for Dovin Architect Of Law (Foil) & Lukka, Wayward Bonder. Gifted a Sol Ring/Arcane Signet. I can provide more card information on what I have (nothing else traded for or given) but what I’ve been trying to do as I mentioned is create a “draft commander deck” using Jegantha The Wellspring (5 colored deck).
I don’t know if I agree that invasion of kamigawa is a weak effect on the front. I think any effect that helps you flip the battle sooner should be seen as a premium effect for a battle
It's bad. The set has an instant convoke spell that does the same to 2 creatures for the same mana cost. It's the worst convoke blue spell (which admittedly tell more about how busted convoke is).
But don’t forget we’re talking about battles. The real power is obviously on the back. Anything that helps you get there is good imo. You wouldn’t run kamigawa for the front effect itself, it just helps you flip the battle. So really depends on whether flipping the battle is the strategy or line of play you’re going for. And convoke taps your creatures so unless they have vigilance, you aren’t flipping a battle or doing damage to opponent that turn if you have to use each creature on the board for the convoke
I'm not sure, but Green seems the worst color again. I saw through another proplayer's screen, draft ranking from an assistance app, there are about ten highest win rate color-combination, none of those with green, makes me a green believer upset.

I love how you put blue at the bottom before you drafted the set but now it is the best!

#Tuneup! I'm new to drafting and you're guides are some of the easiest to digest resources I've found. Thank for the videos!

There isn't a death effect when sunfall exiles everything.
Consistently concise and great content, I appreciate it brother!
Love this format! Thank you so much for this.
Thanks for the #tuneup. I love the five color deck. Had a blast building around the battle. Good luck in the Open!

Your vids help me out so much in my draft thank you!
I'm so glad to hear it!
#tuneup - love your videos. I have been watching since 2017 or 2018. Keep up the good work!
Well you can tell this guy favors blue 😅 loved the video I’ll be subscribing 🎉

Great content, appreciate all the work you do !!
I really enjoy watching your videos. They are so useful for my drafts :) Carry on the good work!

#tuneup thanks for the update. Wish I watched this before my draft earlier
Love all the graphics!! For the speed of the format, it might be more understandable what fast, medium, and slow mean in turns or gameplay.
# tuneUp - thanks for the update!

#TuneUp Nice vid m8, definatley helps a bunch for ppl out of the loop
Thanks for the great content

Good to know how BW has felt to you, I wouldn't have guessed it would rank that low. #TuneUp
