- This is an important episode as it may be a glimpse into the future of variegated AND colored aroids. Eddy Pranoto is a lifelong hybridizer of bird-nest anthuriums with lots of work to show in this very long episode. We discuss the care of this category of anthuriums, and then share the hybridization process while touring his gorgeous collection. He also shares some naturally mutated plants (this is very rare) that he have collected and plan to introduce them to hybridization in order to create one of a kind hybrid mutants! I have learnt so much in this episode and I cannot thank Mr Eddy enough for opening up his secrets to us.

Wonderful behind the scenes video. Hybridizing is such interesting work, although it is more like a passion. Eddy has created some absolutely gorgeous hybrids. It must be so exciting to wait for the seedlings and to see the results.

Sebelumnya tidak terlalu tertarik dgn anthurium jenis seperti ini, tapi setelah lihat video ini, skrg aku jadi tau kenapa org2 suka dengan anthurium jenis ini. Cakep bangett, dan cakepnya bkan hanya karena varigatanya , tapi bentuknya sendiri (mangkok, cobra, dsb) juga cakep sekali.
Iya biasa sering liat orang bahas harga tanaman ini tapi ga liat detail dan karakter nya.

This is like the nth time I've been watching this. I really love these types of anthuriums. His rejects, are way better than the one being sold here for a very very high price. If I'm there, I would be waiting on the garbage on where be throw some rejects he said, lol. - love from Philippines.

How are these potting materials fermented? Just left to decompose naturally on the ground or mixed with cow dung or other stuff?
By using fermentation liquid. You mix the liquid with sugar, pour on the potting mix, close your container for one month. They bring good microbes and microorganism to the potting mix.

@@onlyplants kalo kapuk sepanjang pengetahuan gua biasanya untuk isian bantal ,kasur ,jaket , peredam etc. Entah kalo ada yg dipintal jadi benang seperti kapas .Serat kapuk agak kasar tidak sepeti kapas yg halus dan lembut dan elastis.
@@onlyplants hanya sebagai isian matras, bantal, lapisan penahan panas di jaket. Tidak untuk dipintal menjadi fabric. Di sekitar Jabodetabek terutama arah Bogor, banyak sekali pohon kapuk di pinggir jalan. Biasanya biji Kapuk/Randu diambil minyaknya sebagai bahan bakar lampu. Cmiiw
