Thanks for the effort and time it take to make this. I have a Clark C500-Y50 that has what I think has a inching master cylinder problem. I’m gonna test it later today.

The Hyster monotrol transmission is bias to reverse thats to say there is no neutral as such and its in reverse when its not running, as soon as the engine is started it will want to go in reverse unless the park brake is on which switches off the transmission via a micro switch on the lever. when you select forward monotol pedal sends an oil supply to the direction spool to change direction. The inching pedal is operated by the brake fluid, when the brake is applied brake fluid goes to the inching spool and moves the spool into the neutral position so you cant drive against the brakes. If the brake fluid has been contaminated the brake fluid seal in the end of the inching spool can swell up and make the spool lazy or jamb it completely. These transmissions rarely give any trouble. The only common fault was not changing direction this was nearly always due to the leaf spring at the back of the pedal out of adjustment or missing or not enough pedal return spring force. ( you need to to push the pedal against the return spring or it dosnt flick over the monotrol pedal. best forklift at the time.

Thanks, I think that might be my problem with recently bought S50E. Master cylinder was full of rust, had to hone the wheel cylinders, replace the master cylinder. Not too hard. Machine runs okay for first five minutes then won't go forward or backward. I think I'll start by checking the inching valve.

Also replaced the brake master cylinder it was bad. Bled the brakes and the port by the inching valve. Brakes work great now.

Can any of you guys tell what model a hyster is roughly just by looking at it ?

I picked up a similar hyster, forklift, there is a walk around video of it on my channel, sub me. I cant find any mfg plate on it anywhere, but since I posted that video I found a number stamped in the top of the frame under the right side engine cover edge, # F3A5156G but goggling that number finds nothing. mine is an oil bath clutch, w/forward and revere shifter, and a high rang and low rang shifter on the steering shaft, I had to get a new starter for it, also since I made that video, the hydraulics would keep cutting out, I took the relief valve out of the hydraulic pump, I put it in a vice and pushed in on the valve, spring has lots of presser, but it would stick open, I took it a part, and in side there were a lot of sharp burs around the open ports, I took from my stock a buck diamond pen type knife sharpener, very fine, took off all the burs I could, honed out the bore, cleaned it all up, put it back to gather, it worked a whole lot better, but still, just when your in a big rush with a transport waiting to be loaded, you hit a bump, and the hydraulics cut out, you shut it off for a bit, and re-start it, and most times, your good to go, some times you have to turn it off again and wait a bit longer, then way you go.. I ran all over town trying to find a new relief vales, as it looks like a very commune valve, but like every thing else in Thunder Bay, know one wants to help
