Nice sound and tone. I do have to SMH at all these comments, sounds like Derek, Derek, Derek. People Derek Trucks parents named Derek (nephew of the late Butch Trucks, drummer for the Allman Brothers.) From Derek & The Dominoes. His main influence was Duane Allman & Elmore James. Then a lot of other blues & jazz artists. Let's face it if not for Skydog, there wouldn't be a Derek Trucks sounding like he does. SRV never wanted to be Hendrix, he stated he was the original, I'm just the mimic. But we know when we hear SRV that it is SRV. Everybody from the past influences newer players. Mike Gannon is on his way to make a Mike Ganon sound and its a beautiful start. He is guiding his guitar work very nicely.
Dude I just heard you for the first time thanks to that Music is Win interview. I dunno whether you just need to hire a publicist or something, but your playing is insane and you should be MASSIVE in the Bros Landreth/Chris Buck, etc, guitar world. So totally blown away. Thanks for doing what you do,
This is real music, the one that makes you cry.
Perfect match with Derek. Incredible guy!
Definitely influenced by Derek, but that's like saying "you sound like Hendrix". That's a compliment in my book. Beautiful playing.
And Derek is definitely influenced by Duane, and the circle goes round. Everyone gets their inspiration from somewhere in music.
Every time someone plays slide guitar there is always “that guy” who brings up Derek Trucks.

Incredible talent man. Thanks for the ride.
Sweet soulful sliding🙌👏👍
I’m having to search for stylings that aren’t like Derek, and struggling. Obviously an amazing player though, and I’m happy to have him on my radar!
Very nice!
It would be crazy if you and Dylan Adams got together🤯 Amazing playing, and amazing band
You have your unique voice sound, sound amazing!

You need to get hooked up with Austin City Limits TV series. You’d earn wide national exposure and appreciation.
Love you mike

oompaville sent me, this is the shit
What guitar is he playing? Looks like an SG neck on a Jaguar.
I was hoping for an answer too
I built it out of a Jaguar body and a Gibson style neck. Put in humbuckers as well.
@@mp_gannon Thanks for replying. I might suggest we do that with my son's Jag !
Sounds like Derek.
looks like property value is about to rise on that street in holmby hills.
