I think the only relationship that I would argue as being healthier than Mirabel's and Antonio's is Felix and Peppa's. He is one of the only ones to not see her gift as a problem and he is always shown to be supporting her no matter her mood.

What do you mean there are no toxic relationships? Everyone’s relationship with Abeula is toxic! Luisa is treated like a slave, Isabela has to be perfect so Abeula can live through her, Mirabel is neglected because she doesn’t have a gift, Pepa is constantly having to push away her emotions so she doesn’t upset her mother and Bruno felt like his only option was to leave the family because he was afraid of his mother treating Mirabel the way she treated him. I can’t say anything about the other family members because I don’t have enough information but I’m sure she was awful to them too.

Abuela was pretty awful to Mirabel's parents after the terrible proposal dinner, so Augustine and Aubela and Julieta and Abuela are also toxic.

Also i dont thing camilo and antonio, or luisa and isabela are that unique cause they are siblings, and bruno with his siblings in all of you were so connected, so these arent that unique.
I also love the two married couples in the movie. Especially Mirabel parents - mostly because their relationship has so much sense. I mean - she is a healer, and he is the clumsiest man in the village - of course they fell in love. I am 100% sure that he was visiting her every 2-3 days because he was hurt AGAIN and from this point - it just went the way it should.
I love how everyone in this family seems to genuinely love each other. I have two sisters so i can even see how Mirabelle and Isa Love each other, even when they hate each other, which is pretty normal between sisters.
It’s ironic how Mirabel and Camillo are the same age yet have the least interactions with each other.

I think Alma-Bruno is more toxic than Alma-Mirabel. And I actually saw Dolores as being supportive of Mirabel through their interactions, moreso than Luisa(who can't afford to). And I think Julieta disagreed with her due to denial, not dismissal, so I'd rank Luisa seventh, Dolores and Julieta sixth and fifth, and keep the top 4 as is.
Yeah, instead of ranking All of Mirabel’s, they should rank all that had major interactions.
Cousins raised in the same home together are pretty much sibling figures and will typically develop sibling bonds. The two cousins of mine my parents raised were like a brother and sister to me. I actually got to a point where I would refer to all the children in my home as my siblings whether they were a brother, sister, or cousin. Come to think of it, the number of children my parents raised is the same as the number of grandchildren Abeula from Encanto has.
Julieta is such a loving characters. You can see how much love the creators put in her just looking at her eyes.
Félix is the perfect match for Pepa. Sometimes, and especially in Africa where I live, the woman is seen to be more supportive for the man than the inverse. So when I see how an amazing husband is Félix, my mind blown. That's why Pepa and Félix are the healthiest relationship in this house.
Don't consider Pepa is emotionally messy, just see her as someone pressured by her power and Félix totally understood that
I would say that Peppa doesn't have a bad relationship with anyone, she just is under a lot of stress all the time, and that causes almost everyone to treat her like she can't control herself, which makes her more stressed.
Except Abeula who constantly discounts Pepa’s emotions because the weather it brings in inconvenient.

For some reason, I can see Camilo and Mirabel being the the duo that pulled pranks together when they were younger. Something about his verse when he was shapeshifting and scaring her. It gives me the impression they were jokesters at some point.
I largely agree with this, but I think that Felix and Pepa should take the cake.
Felix not only puts up with but celebrates the imperfections of his wife, and encourages her to be more open with her feelings throughout the film. He remembers their wedding day as "a joyous day" despite it being in a hurricane, because he got to marry the woman he loved. He's the only one really able to calm Pepa down, demonstrating how much the two care about one another. The two easily have one of the best husband and wife relationships in animation.

I know this is focusing on Mirabel's relationships but let's be real. The absolute worst relationship in this whole movie is Alma and Bruno.

I wouldn't be surprised if Alma was whispering in Isabella's ear for years about having to be careful with Mirabel. Like, don't let Mirabel get to you or I'll handle Mirabel you relax. After all she's the favorite and favorites tend to get special treatment when it comes to arguments. So its easy to see how Isabella tended to blow things out of proportion when it came to her sister. (Seriously that dinner was not her fault!)

Disney is brilliantly breaking the traditional mould w/ the father-mother dynamics here. I personally don't like Julieta's everything's-gonna-be-alright approach (it's literally the worst way to console someone in distress according to psychology). Augustin, otoh, knows how hard it is to fit in and even told Mirabel about it, which makes the both of them click on a much deeper level

@jf k I saw Julieta as stuck between a rock and a hard place when it came to defending Mirabel. As Bruno's leaving probably nonverbally told the others that failure to live up to Abuela's desires meant being cast out, I'd understand if Julieta feared her or Mirabel's disownment if she opposed Abuela too much

Mirabel's relationship with Isabella between healthy and toxic is somewhere in the middle.
Abuela is literally the toxic one here, being a person who controlled the family and constantly put them through stress and hardships and also giving them impossible expectations to have and keep, I mean They gave her a reason but I still don’t like what she did

I don't believe Abuela was toxic. She still loves her family and everything she did had good intentions behind it. Sure her traumatic past drove her to be overprotective but in the end, she forgave Mirabel and accepted "imperfections" in the family.
Honestly, if Mirabel + Antonio had not been on top, I'd be calling your nearest psychiatric professional. :D It's a very specific word choice when Antonio says, "I wish you had a door". It's not referencing a gift, but a room. Someplace other than the "nursery".

I really love the relationship between Mirabel and Antonio, the relationship for Mirabel and Bruno, the one between her and Luisa and I like that Mirabel and Isabella got along during Isabella's song what else could I do.
The reason why Mirabel and Antonio have such a strong bond is because before Antonio had a room all to himself, he spent his entire life in the nursery with Mirabel. I’m pretty sure whenever something worried them or made them sad, they would both be equally open about it.
I'm loving all these Encanto related videos! The movie is honestly worthy of all the recognition it gets in my opinion at least, so if you haven't already, would you be willing to rank the soundtrack from most viewed/listened to to least? Also, I'd like to see more Marvel related content at some point! I know there's a new Doctor Strange movie coming out soon... 😄
I saw the movie only last week so now I can finally watch all the spoiler-filled videos about it on RUclips! I think I know how people who couldn’t see Avengers Endgame for a while felt!
My Ranking from Healthiest to Toxic Relationship between Mirabel and the Madrigal Members:
1. Antonio - Do I really need to explain why? Mirabel and Antonio had the healthiest relationship and never had conflict.
2. Bruno - Even though he hide for a decade after Mirabel’s denial for a gift, their bond grew stronger during the movie.
3. Agustin - Mirabel's relationship with Agustin was slightly stronger and healthier than Julieta because he doesn't dismiss Mirabel's opinions and thoughts and tried to hide on what Mirabel did.
4. Luisa - It’s kinda hard to choose who should be higher, her or Camilo. She seems to dislike the family shunning Mirabel because of how she didn't had a gift and helped her sister.
5. Camilo - They never had interactions or chemistry during the movie but they actually had great relationship by sharing the nursery for 5 years.
6. Julieta - Julieta had a great relationship with her daughter but seems dismissive when Mirabel told her about the cracks.
7. Felix - They didn’t had arguments or conflict with each other, it’s lower since there was one moment.
8. Dolores - Mirabel’s secret could be bad but dif she really have to ruin the proposal with her gossiping ability.
9. Pepa - I know why Mirabel stole her seat but Pepa’s aggression towards her is unnecessary and immature.
10. Isabela - Mirabel and Isabela also had a bad sisterly relationship due to arguing, jealousy and insults towards each other.
11. Abuela - Both had an argument over the unhealthy perfectionism and the pressure that Abuela put into the family.
Camilo seems dmissive , during Antonio's ceremony had an annoyed expression when he saw Mirabel with his brother 😅😅

@@kofizayn6077 Think about it this way, Dolores is 21 and Antonio is only 5, Dolores probably still sees him as a baby, and Antonio, more than likely sees her as a second mom. There was also a lot of love in Dolores's eyes towards Antonio each time she looked at him, so their relationship is definitely a positive one.

I think that Bruno being number 2 is fitting, because he had always adored her she may have not known to what length he loved her until he told her why he lift without really leaving but he stayed to be close to the two people he loved most, Mirabel and her mom. I don't see Pepa holding him or touching him as much as Julieta does. So he seems to have a stronger relationship with her. That and he had to have heard them talking in the kitchen when she heels Mirabel's hand. So he had to know she had his back. I also know she to have known he was still there in the Encanto somewhere because she is the family cook and she had to have noticed that food was missing. She didn't know how close by he was, but she knew he was still near. I think Camilo might have seen him when out getting food but thought he was seeing things. But we all know who knew he was in the walls. I think we could put Felix higher change him and Camilo because he actually wants her to know what is going on and he never shows any irritations twords her. He seems to actually care more about her than Pepa does.
From the beginning of the video, I already knew that Antonio would be the golden relationship. I love this kid 😍😍😍
What I don't like is that Mirabel lived in the Nursery. At the age of 15 nobody had even built her own non magical room.
They were probably afraid of, “upsetting the gods” so to speak. Since the house built itself and added a new section whenever necessary, they might have been afraid the miracle wouldn’t like it if they attempted to force a change on it themselves, BUT STILL.

I find it adorable that my 3 fave Madrigals are in the healthier relationships with Mirabel. Bruno, Luisa, and Antonio are my favorites
alma and mirabel having a healthy relationship reminds me of moana and her parents.
There are more fan theories running around about Encanto than any other movie I have seen recently. and for good reason. You folks brought up the possibility that the casita was, in fact, the spirit of Abuelo Pedro manifested. I heartily agree with this. Pedro sacrificed himself to save his family. That sacrifice brought forth the magic candle and the casita, which was alive from the very start. I thoroughly believe that it was the spirit of Pedro looking out for his familia. The rift between Abuela Alma and MIrabel seemed to destroy the magic and, in turn, the casita, but in reality, this was the only Pedro could think of to get Alma's head out of her ass and wake the hell up to Mirabel's place in the family. And it worked, which is why at the end of the movie everyone got their gifts back and Mirabel's doorknob woke the casita, restoring everything to "normal."
I love this movie, partly because of the strong feeling of family that it evokes. It is my own family that inspires me. Encanto is my youngest granddaughter's favorite. It plays at my daughter's house several times a day, so I see it, or at least parts of it, several times a week. My granddaughter doesn't have a lot of experience with films, and probably only likes Encanto because of the bright colors and excellent music. She's only 13 months old, after all. I just hope that when she gets older she learns to appreciate the finer details that Disney put into it.

I thought it would be about a ranking thing on who would be the most healthiest relative in the family, not Mirabel and her family, but that works too.
In defense of Pepa she is trying to keep control of emotions and trying to be positive all the time to keep up with her mother demeads and to keep her powers form attacking people.
Plus she may have been proceting marbiel and bruno.while also being upset about Bruno leaving.

Bruno by not telling Maribel about him that can make one less person not liking him.
You know I read somewhere that antonio probably had his toucan follow mirabel went she goes to bruno's tower because he is worried about her, and I think that's true
Now I wonder what if that toucan report back to antonio about what mirabel is going to do, that's why he seems unfazed with the whole saving the miracle thing, even goes as far as following mirabel to the walls and offering his room for bruno's vision,

1: Dolores - She is a sad character because of her childhood and her gift, it's not her fault she can't keep secrets but she did keep the secret Bruno living in the walls, and she did get the man of her dreams
2: Isabela - She acts perfect in front of Abuela, she doesn't want to be perfect, and she doesn't want to get married to the man that Dolores likes
3: Julieta - She has a sweet and soft side and she go full mama bear mode if her daughters get hurt or lost
4: Pepa - She can get worried and grumpy, she does love her family, and she hates it when Abuela reminds her she has a cloud
5: Antonio - he loves animals and he has a good relationship with his cousin Mirabel and his sister and brother
6: Luisa - She does like to help out and she also likes to relax
7: Felix - He is a fun-loving father who loves his wife and kids and he also loves music and dancing with his wife
8: Bruno - He is a sad character like Dolores, him and Dolores did have a strong bond during her childhood, and he loves his family
9: Agustin - He ancient prone and clumsy but he loves his family
10: Camilo - He can be a little annoying with the shapeshifting and his father doesn't like when he shapeshifts into a family to get seconds
11: Mirabel - Evening if she doesn't have a gift she help and love her family
12: Abuela - I always see her the villain of the movie because her attitude and her family being perfect
Tbh, Idk why but I felt like Camilo and Mirabel's rather distancing relationship, I kinda feel like it's rather normal for it to happen.
I mean for most boys and girls who are used to a strong relationship at rather at a young age, as they grew older, the interaction between them could actually decrease a lot. Different then being friends with same genders, opposite genders tend to rather have trouble connecting as they grew older.
As I came to the age to understand things better, this is rather interesting to see between the two gender relationships. At this point, I would have at least say it could happen if the didn't interact in the continuing years, or most likely since they do have friends who experiences the same things as them, it be tough to just go back to the opposite gender friend who doesn't relate to you anymore.
That felt like a really sticky situation for someone to hang out with opposite gender friends though.
As someone with multiple cousins who are my age and born the same year, i can confirm that Mirabel and Camilo’s relationship isnt uncommon. I relate to Mirabel bc my favorite cousins are wayy younger than me and my cousins who are my age barely give me a second glance, so i kind of *have* to make friends with the babies 😂
the badness in dolores and mirabel relationship is when dolores pushed mirabel out of the way .what would dolores hurt her family for who 'mariano'!!

To be honest, I think Mirabel and Isabela have the most toxic relationship. Isabela has been bullying Mirabel throughout the whole movie
But both of them had great character development after the argument

Dolores outed Mirabel for not having a power in front of the children when she was kind of trying to hide that fact and she sort of did it slightly maliciously I think
