I agree with you completely about using what you love and buying what you love for Christmas and not trendy. Trendy doesn’t warm your heart, trendy doesn’t warm the Christmas spirit, the way that traditional and Victorian does. I love Victorian and many traditions, not just Christmas. But Victorian Christmas’s are so beautiful and magical.
Nah it’s not meant to be open (a kitchen is a kitchen and a utility room is a utiity room. Not a fan of mixing spaces and open plans here!) + the blue door is very chic when closed.
Thank you! We especially have the door to close it for noise reduction when using washing machine, tumble dryer and when the heating is on. I love working in the kitchen and it’s great to be able to close it when I’m editing. Other than that we have it open.
I always love your Christmas decorating videos. I am reminded of my late Mother who was born in Frankfurt. She came to the USA at 5 years old, between the wars. Our Christmas traditions and decorations were very German. When she was 77 years old and showing signs of having a difficult time walking, I granted her lifetime wish, to return to Germany. One of the places we visited was Rotenberg ob der Tauber, naturally she was enchanted! The whole trip was designed around making it easy for her to get around and soak up the magical places we visited. Up until the time of her death my mother never stopped talking about that trip. I'm so blessed to have those memories. Thank you for your videos and Bless you both!

After spending 2 years in Germany (back in the early 2000s), My most treasured Christmas decorations are from Kathe Wolfart. My husband took me to Rotterdam as a surprise weekend getaway. Wow the copper sink with the blue deVOL cabinets, looks very expensive. Much better layout than what you inherited with the purchase of your home. Of course we could all dream of expansive windows over looking rolling hills of tender spring grass blowing in the breeze, but that is not our reality. We must work within a dedicated space and budget. I will be thankful with you (we in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow) with family and friends. Personally we thank God for the many blessings he has brought our family (and our friends) this past year. We spend many hours in our kitchen's cooking, loving our families with nurishment for our bodies and soul. How wonderful to enjoy our moments of making memories in such a beautiful well thought out environment. Well done my German friends in England. Now it is time to celebrate and enjoy the holidays.

Your kitchen is lovely. I especially like the copper sink and the colour of the cabinets. I am amazed that the work took seven weeks. My husband designs and instals custom kitchens. One as small as yours would take about a week, complete with plumbing and electrical. Your workers were very slow, but no doubt the quality is perfection.

The deVOL fitters weren’t slow at all but the other bits that had to be done took time (plumber also went on holiday) and our kitchen worktop needed to be templated after fitting and then we had to wait for it to be made which was the reason it took long and the counter cabinet could only be installed after the worktop fitting. It took seven weeks with everything included with preparation, ripping out and plastering and we waited for the plaster to dry and wanted to be sure and let it dry for 9 days as the cabinets are really pricey. The 7 weeks do not refer to the fitting itself.

Your kitchen is really a functional & attractive space. I do understand the exhaustion involved with the process. I’ve just gone through renovations of my entire house while still living in it and man-O - man, it gave me PTSD
I’ve had my new kitchen for a year, and it practically took over my downstairs (tiny house). New appliances, cabinets and lengths of work surfaces stacked in the living room. Lots more to do though, loft floor re insulation, and new boarding. Upgrade the rest of the wiring, in particular adding light switches and extra sockets. Reposition the bedroom window, so that it’s not 6 inches above the floor, possibly get rid of the slope in the bedroom ceiling, as the wall where the window is only three quarter height, hence the current position of the window. New internal doors, skirtings, architraves, dado/picture rails, reskim walls and ceilings, ceiling roses, and covings. New flooring (no carpets, not even on the stairs, which are going to have stair mats (stuck down with tape). Wallpapering. At least the windows and front door, plus guttering, have been replaced.
You two have done a really beautiful job thus far on your kitchen! I'll bet you can't believe your eyes every morning when you come down the stairs! I've been following you for some time and marvel at how, despite your years of marriage, you are still like two teenagers in a candy store, fulfilling your dreams. You've been talking about redoing your kitchen for quite a while and now it's here! Just so sweet, and such a lovely contrast to all the unending bad news in our world. I've been stuck in bed for 2 months with Covid and eagerly look forward to to your new videos (and rewatching some older ones) which truly lifts my spirits -- and even sometimes helps me sleep better! Wow the copper sink with the blue deVOL cabinets, looks very expensive. Much better layout than what you inherited with the purchase of your home. Of course we could all dream of expansive windows over looking rolling hills of tender spring grass blowing in the breeze, but that is not our reality. We must work within a dedicated space and budget. I will be thankful with you (we in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow) with family and friends. Personally we thank God for the many blessings he has brought our family (and our friends) this past year. We spend many hours in our kitchen's cooking, loving our families with nurishment for our bodies and soul. How wonderful to enjoy our moments of making memories in such a beautiful well thought out environment. Well done my German friends in England. Now it is time to celebrate and enjoy the holidays.

Your kitchen is lovely. I especially like the copper sink and the colour of the cabinets. I am amazed that the work took seven weeks. My husband designs and instals custom kitchens. One as small as yours would take about a week, complete with plumbing and electrical. Your workers were very slow, but no doubt the quality is perfection.

The deVOL fitters weren’t slow at all but the other bits that had to be done took time (plumber also went on holiday) and our kitchen worktop needed to be templated after fitting and then we had to wait for it to be made which was the reason it took long and the counter cabinet could only be installed after the worktop fitting. It took seven weeks with everything included with preparation, ripping out and plastering and we waited for the plaster to dry and wanted to be sure and let it dry for 9 days as the cabinets are really pricey. The 7 weeks do not refer to the fitting itself.

Your kitchen is really a functional & attractive space. I do understand the exhaustion involved with the process. I’ve just gone through renovations of my entire house while still living in it and man-O - man, it gave me PTSD
I’ve had my new kitchen for a year, and it practically took over my downstairs (tiny house). New appliances, cabinets and lengths of work surfaces stacked in the living room. Lots more to do though, loft floor re insulation, and new boarding. Upgrade the rest of the wiring, in particular adding light switches and extra sockets. Reposition the bedroom window, so that it’s not 6 inches above the floor, possibly get rid of the slope in the bedroom ceiling, as the wall where the window is only three quarter height, hence the current position of the window. New internal doors, skirtings, architraves, dado/picture rails, reskim walls and ceilings, ceiling roses, and covings. New flooring (no carpets, not even on the stairs, which are going to have stair mats (stuck down with tape). Wallpapering. At least the windows and front door, plus guttering, have been replaced.

Dear friends, you are so right about the "Angel Hair"...i first saw a German Christmas Tree way back in 1961 when I stayed with my German pen-pal for Christmas and New Year 61/62....i had never seen an all white tree before, but the crowning glory was indeed the Angel Hair ! Absolutely STUNNING!
