Great video. Great spec review, well written, no fluff, just straight up facts and great shots. Your video was informative and objective about the SKX's status in April of 2023. I would also add that the 4R/NH36 can easily upgrade this watch for hacking and handwind to prolong its life. I would definitely recommend this watch at the $200-300 range but no more than that. Spare parts and after market parts can be used to make an SKX from scratch as well. I really enjoyed your video. Currently wearing my 2 year old SKX007 still running like a champ after daily abuse.

This watch is an icon! That pretty much belongs in every watch collection
I have one made in 97. Worn daily since. Never serviced. Gains 10 seconds a day. Best bang for the buck ever in an Auto Diver.
Is it still water resistant?
I bought a 2017 SKX a month ago for 305USD. It had been purchased new and rarely worn. I felt that was a very reasonable price for a mint condition 007; especially considering what new old stock SKXs are going for

I disagree with your pricing I believe the SKX IS TRULY ICONIC PERIOD.
Yeah it's iconic but if you want one today old stock new watch your paying six to seven hundred pounds depending on your strap choice obviously it's more cash on the s.steel strap over the rubber, .it all depends if you really want one for your watch collection, .but for that money for a very outdated movement I personally wouldn't pay, I'd rather put a bit extra money and get a Willard reissue.

I got mine 2 months ago in good shape with a nice miltat jubilee , cost me 300 Euro and i'm very happy with that. Wears amazingly good. Fantastic case for the money. Shaking the movement to live is just facinating. Great piece!

Nice review. I have both the SKX007 and 009. Love them both. When I purchased them, the cost was way under $200. They don’t get as much wrist time. But as of this comment that’s gonna change. Again nice vid and review. Continued success!!

Nice review. Despite what other specs competitors (like the alibaba brand you showed) bring, what you don't get with those others that you get with the Seiko is the iconic name. That iconic name will be more valuable than those others no matter and especially since it's been discontinued. Which, you see happening today.

In the year 2020 I bought a SKX 013 new from an AD in UK. (From the number on the caseback you can tell the year of production. Mine starts with a “9” and ends with a “7” wich means that it was produced 2019, month of July.) My SKX has proven itself to be extremely tough and robust, taking heavy beatings and temperature shift from hot to freezing cold without any problems. No misalignments at all, and the bezel has no backplay. Personally I like the (loose) jubilee strap, but for those that do not “Strapcode” offers a lot of other choices. When the time for service comes, I probably will upgrade to a NH 36 movement, but besides that my SKX is worth every penny, and it is understandable why it still has a cult status amongst so many watch lovers. Sure if you are a Dive watch collector the SKX 007 & 009 these watches are a icon period i own both versions a great looking watch typical seiko a reliable watch all the best from the UK.

I would say eBay is the best place. With regards to your second question, literally any watch from a traditional brand is better than the SKX today for $400 😁
@@holokron1337 Considering the SEIKO SNE589 on style alone. Hopefully it's a good replacement even though it doesn't look as visually appealing as the SKX007.

The SKX007 is a real ISO certified dive watch. Most other “dive watch” clones are not certified at the same price point. You have the SKX007K which sold with the jubilee bracelet, the SKX007J only sold with the rubber strap.

@@holokron1337 Yes you did. I can’t believe how much the value has increased since it was discontinued. As you stated, Seiko has a very big cult following and they’ve decided the SKX007 is the next Cpt Willard.
Only ur beloved model can really quench ur carnival thirst. Even if i buy every seiko, i will still look for skx. Which i dont have yet but soon i m buying (for a price 5 times yes huck off)

Hello! I saw this model in some online stores, but it seems strange because the text '21 jewels' is indicated on the dial. I think it's fake! Is that so?
The J1 models in particular the 009 “ made in Japan” will have 21 jewels on the dial just below the “divers 200 metre “ line. The SKX 011 and SKX a35 also present this way.
You were most likely unable to tell the time when these were introduced .. allow the fact that when it was sold and made it was just over 100 dollars so quality reflected that ..things have moved on but it is at least 15 years old ..I have a new unworn one and it's quality is tha same
