Ameritron Al-80b Roasted By FT-8 , New Air Variable Plate Tune Capacitor, New Penta lab 3-500z Etc

Here I show the repair and modifications on another Ameritron Al-80b.
Forgot to add that I removed the Mov's from the filament secondary at the filament choke.

Could you take the slightly broken air variable capacitors and rebuild them using parts from the really broken ones? Just asking because one day, they may not be available anymore.

I used to do that back in the day but requires labor, plus stuck with old ground contacts. Not all can come apart
If had to start doing this again I would. But only if forced to. But I prefer new.
