1:32 he’s riding past the famous August Wilson crib. The first 9mins is a neighborhood called the Hill District. One of the most historical black neighborhoods in the USA. The Hill was the first neighborhood with project housing in the country. President Truman poorly built them with no resources. He built projects in like 10 different sections on the Hill District but the city knocked them all down except one and built new homes which led to mass gentrification in ny neighborhood. The Hill was considered Little Harlem but when Dr. King was killed the police and ourselves (black ppl) burnt down our hood with riots. The section where I’m from was 60 minutes first drug case episode because my elders were making “millions” selling drugs to the Pitt students. They tore down our homes and expanded Pitt University campus. So now we only have one project left and the hood is almost completely gentrified🥺Also we are home of the Pittsburgh Crawfords Negro Baseball team 🙌🏾
Gwen Petula. I’m not from Pennsylvania (just the state next door) and have visited Pittsburgh a number of times. There’s a lot to see there, especially the museums which are excellent. Very impressed how Pittsburgh has diversified from its steel background and turned itself around recently.

Looks nice but the city tops the best in racial inequality. As a black person, you have an equal chance of better living conditions in Mississippi as there is in Pittsburgh.
While that is true..I hope you can agree that in last 15 years, Pittsburgh has come a long way in right direction as far as equality goes, iam white, so my perception may be distorted, but as long as the government is imposing its systematic racism, so they can keep the attention of their own dirty deeds, I guess everywhere has lot of work to do!
