    • @amit9665

      If we use direct current straight polarity...more heat will be on the workpiece and more oxides can be formed which is not desirable..

  • @biswajitguha7633
    @biswajitguha7633 7 лет назад

    Sir just one question so in this case electrode is not consumable like MIG welding?

    • @LEARNANDGROW
      @LEARNANDGROW  7 лет назад

      Yes in TIG WELDING electrode is non consumable

    • @biswajitguha7633
      @biswajitguha7633 7 лет назад

      But why it is non consumable?

    • @LEARNANDGROW
      @LEARNANDGROW  7 лет назад

      aluminum and magnesium remained difficult because these metals react rapidly with the air and result in porous weld.Processes using flux-covered electrodes did not satisfactorily protect the weld area from contamination. To solve the problem, inert gases and non conaumable electrodes are used.

      TUNGSTEN electrode is used because it can withstand very high temperatures with minimal melting or erosion. Electrodes are made by powder metallurgy and are formed to size after sintering.
