Play a 433 with a sitting midfield to help out the defence, you get a lot yellows cards to the defence cause of this Change the complete wingbacks to either wingbacks or full backs because your playing with wingers, give them room to operate Bring balance to the team ben !!
Totally agree with changing CWBs to WBs. Using CWBs gives you so little defence in wide positions, unless you fancy poaching someone with massive pace like TAA or Bellerin
My save on the same database Signed Grealish, Jota, Morelos, Munier, Kondogbia and Soumaré. Haven’t won a single game out of my first four, scored only two goals, and we have been knocked out of the cup by Rochdale on penalties...
Thiago almada is my go to player if I ever get stuck, just build around him😂could also buy everton (not the club, though, the owners could probably afford it)
Kevin ndicka young fast physical centre half would work well with Dias. Florentino Luis would be perfect DM for you to help keep more clean sheets. Best striker for me on any save and most value for a player is Edouard. 13 - 18mil and always gets 20plus goals. Finished 5th with Brentford he got 26 first season in prem. Also most under rated player on game who turns into a super star is josh da silva from brentford
Ben my boy. You got this. Just get back to basics :) 4-2-3-1 Play Almiron down the middle, Lazaro right, ASM left Midfield trust Hayden and S. Longstaff to do the job and sub Shelvey in as a supersub
why would fm youtubers fake their vids lmao, its such a small community their channel would die instantly if it was found out, besides i feel like fm fans don't care as much about the results as the personality of ben as well as the process itself
Taking your wingers off attacking roles and into supporting wingers will help tenfold. You're basically playing 424 but with no playmaker in the middle to even get the ball to the forward players. The guys out wide need to be available for short passes and not pushed up against the opposing fullback all game, especially if you're focusing play down the wings.
Yes this is what its like being a Newcastle fan. My first season, also without any of the money you have. I played 3 midfielders one sitting deeper, with the 2 wingers, and basically playing on the counter every game. Came 7th and Joelinton scored 25 first season. I think you need to go more defensive
I love this Ben is now being fully transformed into how a Newcastle fan lives our lives. Bit about the bench though is wrong..... I do that with our first team. Think you need to maybe drop a striker and get a dm in and really use the pace of a front 3 of almiron, maxim and martinez.
@@vicvinegar4540 Thank God somebody said it, No defend duty on a 2 man center midfield aswell as CWBs when you already have wingers i front is.... very questionable
Great channel recently subscribed, it seems to me you really need a cam that tries killer through balls, that should really help with midfield and connect Martinez with opportunities on goal just a though bro ✌️
Ben, that system! Two strikers, two attacking wingers, two wingbacks AND a BBM mean everyone is racing forward every time you manage to keep possession, then once you lose the ball you have no cover so keep getting caught on the counter. This is why you get so many bookings too, players lunging in desperately trying to stop another counter with no cover behind them. Then when you get the ball, playing a TM with More Direct Passing and Much Higher Tempo means everyone just pumps it long towards Carroll. Tactical tweaks above signings, but a no. 10 or another winger to allow Almiron to play centrally would be my call.
Great Fun this!! Play one striker and get a decent DM on deep lying playmaker - Saul, Bentancur, Lisandro Martinez, Matheus Henrique, Ndidi, Frank Kessie - you've got the cash - so splash!!
Drop the 4-2-4 for the 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2. You're getting destroyed in the middle of the park. Especially against smaller teams who are looking to counter. You're giving them the wings(the most dangerous area of the park) for free. Honestly, either the 4-3-3 the 3-5-2 or the 4-5-1 are a much better call as you have dynamic players who excel in the central areas and you play them as wingers for the strangest reasons. Go get a #7, Stick Lutaro out wide on the other wing, use Max off the bench, Buy a right-back who can tackle literally anybody, Put Delaney in the holding role and move Almerion into a Mezala role.
Think the issue is that against bigger sides they play open which your attacking players can exploit. Smaller sides which are more reserved dont open up as much which brings your players out. They then hit you on the break, maybe look and controlling the centre of the pitch more.
Spending 200 million in the transfer window, has 4 Goalkeepers that are already good enough, relies on Championship standard Paul Dummet at CB and Matt Ritchie, you'd love to see it!
Lol yes Why didn't he just good quality yet not world class players on other positions for depth and spend the rest of the money on a worldclass player or wonderkid hahahaha
I'm so glad other people are realising what it's like to support Newcastle now. Imagine that for a lifetime and you really see why we want rid of Fatshley
I love that FM perfectly simulates the frustrating way in which Newcastle play every game of football. Same problems, even with money spent on new players!
Try Kelvin from PSV..winger can play both sides..quite cheap...also Wendel from sporting (I think) all round midfielder can cover most midfield positions.
It’s all the new signings. I’m having the same experience in my Blood Money Newcastle Dave though I’ve been rooted in 8th, however I didn’t sign as many as you...at least until I hit the January window and 8 new players join us because clearly my guilt about doing the save didn’t stop me from spending the filthy lucre 😬
One thing you must know when managing Newcastle of FM is that their apparent 'average' players are actually great. Dummet is a brilliant player on FM for some reason. Sadly you sold the rest of them
Dummett was absolutely outstanding for Newcastle in the Championship and had Premier League clubs asking about him. He has had quite a few injuries since then but there's a good player in there and I would bet like e.g. Aaron Hughes before him, he will be someone who has come through NUFC's youth academy and is brilliant for every club he plays for and his country but ends up not being well-regarded by football fans in general.
I'd say change the tactic because I've seen your team get outclassed by the lowest team in the league. Also make sure to have your assistant manager take charge of training because some of your players are upset about the current training regime
Given that your wingers are useless and Lazaro and Rose/Willems offer decent options at full back, I'd be tempted to buy a centre half/defensive mid (maybe Kris Ajer?) and go for a 3 at the back or a diamond and lose the wingers completely
Respectfully, may I suggest a change in formation and tactics? What that is isn't that important, but just change it up. If it's going to shit with this starting eleven, which isn't that bad tbh, shouldn't you try to change things up? AND playing basically 4-2-4 with a bottom half team isn't generally advised imo :/ That said, I like the series and good luck!
Dunno how the rest of you do things, but for me when a good player keeps playing below average, it's probably the tactics and not the player(9/10 times). Just don't blow all your money on new players for different positions but then keep the same tactic as currently, it won't help. Get a good DM in there, play Martinez by himself up top as PF
Get a new right back, a new left back, couple of central defenders, one.. No.. Two central midfielders, maybe a winger or two, another striker but apart from that I don't think there's a lot to do
Look for better mentals on the players. Also don't keep all the players on the wings on attacking. Even your fullbacks are sitting quite further forward.
Don't you just love when your 50 Million CD doesn't get along with his partner lol. Get a new CB to play with Dias m8. Those green lines between players seem to be really important in this years FM. 2 average players with good chemistry outperform 2 good ones without. The chemistry Factor adds another dimension to transfers and I love it this way. Something you gotta consider
In the real world Newcastle will be the world's richest club and are being linked with the likes of Coutinho. I think you underestimate how much money they will have to spend.
I remember Ben talking about how well Lascelles and Dias were getting on, and they already don't like each other.
Change the tactic. Buy a new left winger and move Almiron into the centre as a 10
Play a 433 with a sitting midfield to help out the defence, you get a lot yellows cards to the defence cause of this
Change the complete wingbacks to either wingbacks or full backs because your playing with wingers, give them room to operate
Bring balance to the team ben !!
Totally agree with changing CWBs to WBs. Using CWBs gives you so little defence in wide positions, unless you fancy poaching someone with massive pace like TAA or Bellerin
You are making too much sense for the bottle man
Maybe try having two different tactics? You clearly play well against the good teams with your 424 but not working against the smaller sides
I think might be the thing, to have more passion-based tactic against the smaller sides and better backup right back
My save on the same database
Signed Grealish, Jota, Morelos, Munier, Kondogbia and Soumaré.
Haven’t won a single game out of my first four, scored only two goals, and we have been knocked out of the cup by Rochdale on penalties...
Tyler Been wherd u get the database
Talk about realistic, that´s spot on
4:09 love that famous 2-2 victory vs Liverpool 😂😂
Wouldn’t have thought Joel Linton would be top scorer at this point
When he moved Martinez into the wing it was either him or Andy... and that's all I have to say about that.
Thiago almada is my go to player if I ever get stuck, just build around him😂could also buy everton (not the club, though, the owners could probably afford it)
*also scout partizan from Serbia, they are a gem for back up payers who will be worldies
Depends if he wants to overpay for the work permit on almada though
Now you finally understand how it feels to be a Newcastle fan. Constant ANGER.
Kevin ndicka young fast physical centre half would work well with Dias.
Florentino Luis would be perfect DM for you to help keep more clean sheets.

you need only 1 up front, get that other to slot into a CAM or CDM depending on what your best players are.... EZ
CDM at this point!!
I love this Ben is now being fully transformed into how a Newcastle fan lives our lives.
Bit about the bench though is wrong..... I do that with our first team.
Think you need to maybe drop a striker and get a dm in and really use the pace of a front 3 of almiron, maxim and martinez.
You're biggest problem isn't the players. It's the shambles of a tactic you're making them play. Sort it out
That's a bit harsh 🤣
@@vicvinegar4540 This is the most sensible comment in the entire comments section.

Best part of this video was when he was talking about turning to the bench and thinking none of them, that's exactly what I feel as a Newcastle fan
inverted wingers on support and fullbacks on attack is how i play my 424, seems to be working for me
"Onana, where's the save.
Onana where's the save, why don't you save."

the way you channel gervais is almost poetic. i love it
My instinct is you need a third man in midfield, someone big who can give a bit of physicality to the centre of the pitch.
Fellaini?
Chief these are absolutely brilliant but are you concerned this will be the 4th club you'll be released from this year?
This might be my favorite intro of all time from your channel
Try playing with one striker and a man in a number 10 role behind. Almiron can play behind the ST so maybe being in a new LW?
Great Fun this!! Play one striker and get a decent DM on deep lying playmaker - Saul, Bentancur, Lisandro Martinez, Matheus Henrique, Ndidi, Frank Kessie - you've got the cash - so splash!!
Buzzed to see Mings and Goldson at the back for Villa. Had them together this year on a Leeds save, absolute quality.
Drop the 4-2-4 for the 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2. You're getting destroyed in the middle of the park. Especially against smaller teams who are looking to counter. Tbf, this is probably how it would go in real life for Newcastle!
All the players hate each other and Ben hates all the players... I laughed my way through this whole video 😂
Ben, if you want to brush up on your Geordie check out Buzzcocks - Lessons in life
Or his video diary’s
Or his music album
THis save is chaotic and i love it!

Technically you have a 100+million strike partnership even if they’re playing far below
Some absolute pelters in this comments section already. Just want to say I love your videos and appreciate you Ben
Borja Valero plays for Sheffield United, I just can't 😂😂😂
On the poll you ask which position needs strengthening. I can’t see Manager on that list, please advise.
Somehow I still felt the anger coming from Ben even in that last game
i really would try a 4-2-3-1 formation, alot of gaps in the middle, or maybe go for a 3 man midfield, with 2 wide men and a lone striker
Doing a "Nugent" 😅😅 not heard that expression for a while 🤣
Are we just gonna ignore the fact that Schar can't get a game as one of the best forward thinking CB's in the league irl and in the game?
Yup, this is the proper Newcastle experience.
‘Famous victory at Anfield’ doing so badly that a draw feels like a win

My Ritchie/Saint Maximin tip: Ritchie to the right as a flat wide player, and ASM to the left inside forward posi.
Loving the series Ben
Why did you nickname Joelinton 'Joel Linton'
You could get some Bosmans for next season
Thiago Almada has been boss for my in my NUFC save! Cheap too so can buy more wingers and get rid of Almiron. St Maximin develops well.
Welcome to the feeling of a Newcastle fan haha
Schar was amazing in my save. When he's fit try him?
my save on the database = season one is over, won the league on 86 points, martinez scored 27 league goals
Ah the joys of being a Newcastle fan!
Well delaney was bought from Dortmund and Bentaleb is on loan from schalke so really are they gonna get on
Which FM20 skin are you using
Put someone else in midfield with a 433 Wide and a solitary striker (CF/AF) you’ll be stronger down the middle and free up space out wide

Will this be Bens shortest series?
Try and get a creative midfielder and maybe sell ritchie and find a replacement left winger
Tavernier and Barasic at Rangers.
Tbf I’m doing the same save and I’ve started off the season with two defeats and now o face Man Utd and Chelsea so...yeah, it’s going great.

I made Joelinton a world class striker
What did it cost?
Everything
Welcome to the life of a Newcastle fan
20:45 The tagline of this series.
Ben are you aware Wesley plays for us in real life hahahah
Your poll is missing the 'manager' option Ben 😅
Go for a Wide player/inside forward like Frederico Chiesa from Fiorentina
Winger and a CAM
you look like Joe Exotic's campaign manager in Tiger King
Look for better mentals on the players. Also don't keep all the players on the wings on attacking. Even your fullbacks are sitting quite further forward.

For Newcastle United (in this save) it's back to life, back to reality!
Onana has high ecc thats why
This guy has no creativity in the midfield and expects to score goals. There's no balance ...
Tebogo Mangena ‘This guy’

I think you need a new system. Possibly a new LW would help too!
Maybe you should get some loan players in too.

In the real world Newcastle will be the world's richest club and are being linked with the likes of Coutinho. I think you underestimate how much money they will have to spend.
Dummett is a good left back at least in FM19 he was. Ritchie is better in the right wing like a IF.
At last a Football Manager save that is quick, edited and funny. Have you thought of a Champ Man save at all?
definitely a left winger and a CB
You should add an option to vote for every role on the poll
"some grey, shail kit" Nope its a green kit mate
