I have never been particularly interested in opera but because of Dimash I’m learning to appreciate it. That Dimash can draw people in to listen to so many music genres is an amazing thing.
I agree. He draws people to love music with no genres boundaries. Maybe it’s only me but Dimash teaches me that any song that is performed with full of soul is a beautiful song regardless of the genres.

Plácido Domingo has been very generous to young talent with great voices. He opened extra doors for Il Volo when they were starting out, and they have tremendous voices, singing operatically when they were in their mid teens, they were young teenage phenomenons, and still going strong 12 years later. He has done the same for Dimash to open up more doors for him in Europe, and possibly the US. It is a wonderful gesture on Domingo’s part and Dimash is well- deserving of this.
This is a very difficult aria and this duet was stunning! The orchestra, the harmonies and maestro Domingo with Dimash, two legends together delighting the audience everywhere!!! Goosebumps … the standing ovation was really moving 🥲 so proud of our beloved Dimash 💙💛🔝🎤🥇👏👏👏👏

Dear John, I have been watching you since your first reaction to Dimash and what a surprize. I have not seen your videos for ages. I thought you stopped liking him. I am just always confused that Americans have no idea about classical music. Placido Domingo is a legend as he was part of Three Tenors together with Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras. Now he is 82 and he is still great. I hope you will do more reactions to him, especially The Story of One Sky and El Amor en Ti. Karolina/Poland
It is true that many Americans are lacking in musical knowledge, but it is not only Americans. I have been watching reactors in their 20's from other countries, who have never heard of Placido Domingo and lack any familiarity with opera. I think it does vary from country to country, but also depends on one's individual background. What little I know of opera came from my own exp!orations, as here in the U.S., music is not a required subject.

I am not a musician, but I had music as a subject in primary school, where we learned about classical music and composers, maybe because I am European and classical music was created and performed in Europe. When listening to Dimash, please use filters so it doesn't get blocked. We are used to it, and we understand. If it is a fan-cam or the Ultimate Guide to Dimash, you don't need any filters.❤
This composition is from an opera, so yes, it was written a couple of hundred years ago. The composer is George Bizet, a Frenchman, who also wrote the very famous opera “Carmen.” Opera is full of magnificent voices and gorgeous arias (songs) and wonderful stories and fabulous music attached to it, with magnificent voices, singing solo, or in duets, or trios. This piece is from the opera “The Pearl Fishers,” which was another huge “hit” for Bizet. He, as I said he was French, but seemed to always set his operas in foreign countries with much success! Since this is an operatic duet, the composer usually writes for the voices. In this case, it is a duet for tenor and baritone. Tenors can go as high as high C’s or E’s, as Pavarotti is known to have done a couple of times, and they have to sing from chest voice. Sometimes they use the head voice when singing soft passages and they’re able to get high notes that way. Some singers are very good at doing that. Both Dimash and Domingo are able to sing entirely from the chest at whatever range they are singing in. Domingo has moved onto baritone roles since the early 2000’s as his voice had grown darker and older in timber. Usually in opera, the singers perform according to the composers notations. I agree - I’d love Dimash to sing Rudolfo in La Boheme! Thanks for appreciating this lovely performance.
Thank you for your knowledge and time. When my daughter was in 4th grade and 5th grade I wrote an invitation to the parents of the children in the elementary school class to organize a trips to the local opera. I worked with the opera association which gave out tickets for the children through their Opera Education Dept for $3 each. Of course, that was awhile ago. It was important to me to expose children at a young age to classical music. Although, opera for some parents thought it was too mature for them, and they wouldn’t like it. I did take a small group twice. The Opera Education Dept. had someone come and explain the story to the audience before it started which helped. Some kids were very enthused, and others not.

This composition is from an opera, so yes, it was written a couple of hundred years ago. The composer is George Bizet, a Frenchman, who also wrote the very famous opera “Carmen.” Opera is full of magnificent voices and gorgeous arias (songs) and wonderful stories and fabulous music attached to it, with magnificent voices, singing solo, or in duets, or trios. This piece is from the opera “The Pearl Fishers,” which was another huge “hit” for Bizet. He, as I said he was French, but seemed to always set his operas in foreign countries with much success!
Since this is an operatic duet, the composer usually writes for the voices. In this case, it is a duet for tenor and baritone. Tenors can go as high as high C’s or E’s, as Pavarotti is known to have done a couple of times, and they have to sing from chest voice. Sometimes they use the head voice when singing soft passages and they’re able to get high notes that way. Some singers are very good at doing that. Both Dimash and Domingo are able to sing entirely from the chest at whatever range they are singing in. Domingo has moved onto baritone roles since the early 2000’s as his voice had grown darker and older in timber. Usually in opera, the singers perform according to the composers notations.

Thank you for your knowledge and time. When my daughter was in 4th grade and 5th grade I wrote an invitation to the parents of the children in the elementary school class to organize a trips to the local opera. I worked with the opera association which gave out tickets for the children through their Opera Education Dept for $3 each. Of course, that was awhile ago. It was important to me to expose children at a young age to classical music. Although, opera for some parents thought it was too mature for them, and they wouldn’t like it. I did take a small group twice. The Opera Education Dept. had someone come and explain the story to the audience before it started which helped. Some kids were very enthused, and others not.
