The highly sought-after prized initials, P.E., after your name is a path full of blood, sweat, and tears. So is a PE license really worth it?
Let me cut to the chase: the answer is YES. (Bet you didn't see that coming.)
First of all, some states actually require engineers to have a PE license to even call themselves engineers, so there's that.
Secondly, in a pile of applicants for your engineering dream job, who do you think will stand out? The person with a PE license or the person without one?
I'll cut to the chase again: the person with a PE license!
Becoming a PE is a painful process, including sitting for the 8-hour long PE exam, but as one of my favorite quotes by Earl Nightingale states:
"Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway."
(Write THAT on a post-it & put in on your bathroom mirror so it can stare back at you every morning. 😆)
In my Quick Tips video below, I break down all the reasons it is worth it to get your PE license, including increased pay (that's a popular one for some reason).
So, hang with me for a few minutes, and I hope you'll be inspired to commit yourself to the process of getting the prized P.E. after your name, too!

What do you think is the hardest depth exam to take on the PE? Let us know in the comments!
When is the right time to get your pe license or sit down for a pe exam???
Thank you for sharing the interesting information.
You mentioned that PEs could sign and seal the drawing for additional bugs.
I would like to know how many seal are made by PE per year (like an average ) and how much they can make per year
It depends on company and a lot more then that honestly and Depending on state ECT
Its better to make the music off, or load your voice. I can't hear you clearly buddy.
Is this license important out of the US?
I live out of The US I try to be a licensed, pe engineer, will companies are respected it?
A question outside of this video, would structural engineering, such as mezzanine, Frames, conveyors, structures (not buildings). Be under traditional civil or would I need to go for mechanical and specialize under that?
Typically structural (conveyors would likely be more mechanical though)
@@TheCoolcatcleo no. They are considered structural.
@@DominatorGarage that’s what I said
