yeah i feel this dudes lyrics, i get a refreshing sense of honesty and truth out of him playing and what he sings. unfortunately that is such a rare and comforting emotion that all genres of music seem to be lacking these days, specially radio country... this needs to be on the radio, damn! so, good for him for making and ya'll, fortunate few, for appreciating his music and style.
Lost Camp: Jason Dea West Capo 3rd Fret Intro/Verse: G C G Am C G D C G G D G Chorus: C Em D G Verse: Well I feel like riding an old freight train I would ride it thru the sun, in the wind and rain Well I know if I stay here you’re bound to complain Well I feel like riding an old freight train I know I’m going away for a long long while I’ll miss your pretty face and the way you smile You don’t count the days babe and I won’t count the miles Well I think I’m going away for a long long while Well I know I’m bound to travel O awfully far Whiskey and tobaccy and steel guitar Gallon of water and a can of beans I’m going to a place they call the lost camp dreams Chorus: It’s an endless highway, I’m bound to take it No destination honey, but I’m gonna make it You know the lost camp, it ain’t so far away I’m bound to stay there now, until my dying day. Verse:
Well I feel like riding an old freight train
I would ride it thru the sun, in the wind and rain
Well I know if I stay here you’re bound to complain
Well I feel like riding an old freight train
I know I’m going away for a long long while
I’ll miss your pretty face and the way you smile
You don’t count the days babe and I won’t count the miles
Well I think I’m going away for a long long while
Well I know I’m bound to travel O awfully far
Whiskey and tobaccy and steel guitar
Gallon of water and a can of beans
I’m going to a place they call the lost camp dreams
Chorus:
It’s an endless highway, I’m bound to take it
No destination honey, but I’m gonna make it
You know the lost camp, it ain’t so far away
I’m bound to stay there now, until my dying day.
Verse:
Well I got pulled off riding BNSF
I was guilty of trespassing but I am not a theft
I’m not the bum that you’re looking for
I didn’t steal any cargo and I didn’t paint the boxcar door
It’s hard luck here boys and hard luck there
Trouble finds me everywhere
I’ve been astray since the day I was born
My spirit’s clean but my clothes are all torn
I’ve got those old tramp, lost camp, food stamp blues
No money in my pocket and there’s holes in my shoes
When you’ve got nothing, you’ve got hell I’m confused
O Lord I’ve got them lost camp blues
Chorus:
Endless highway, I’m bound to take it
No destination, but I’m gonna make it
You know the lost camp, it ain’t so far away
I’m bound to stay there now, until my dying day.
