Wow, this sounds SO beautiful! Even the name of the instrument is superb, like a poem...bandura. Such sounds and singing definitely should be in one of those soothing music for sleep videos 💐💐💐💐
Awesome video! And (if you don't mind) an extra detail that didn't get discussed with this instrument... There are actually TWO sets of strings lined up horizontally vertically (when instrument is held upright, while seated, as shown here) which might not be clear until one is close enough to the instrument... When none of the harp levers are engaged, the lowest set of strings is in E-flat major, while the upper set of strings in D Major, making it possible to play anything chromatically (without even using any of the levers). However, engaging the levers adds or removes a flat or sharp to the lowest set of strings. One wild instrument!
These are very beautiful sounding instruments, you need to hear one up close in person to really appreciate the sound. Oh, I hope it was a Lada Niva! (Didn't look like one)
the one starts at 5:21 is called "У перетику ходила" and its based on Taras Shevchenko's poem. this is the gloomiest interpretation of it that I've ever found! it's great!
Do you happen to know where I can find a string sheet on what string belongs to which note for a Chernihiv bandura, or even other bandura. Resources in America are limited on it.
Bless you Ukraine. May you all be safe and secure in these uncertain days.
we love you, people of Ukraine ! Your culture is a precious treasure !
Бандура - це унікальний український інструмент. В дитинстві вчилася грати на бандурі і любов до неї лишилася на все життя ❤
This has been my favorites video of the channel so far. Funny Badura in Lebanese means tomato, and the Kobza means bread
Thanks for watching! Yes I was very lucky that day to be able to sit in on the orchestra. Stay tuned, there's more to come :)
Wonderful video, Ukraine is a lovely country with rich culture and history clearly evident in their music!
Joshua it’s all being stolen by Russia
I'm glad my heritage was well-represented in this video. Thanks for making it!
Thanks for watching it! :)
The trio in the middle of the interview is so cool!!
I think I've watched all of the Stringdom's videos now, this one might be my favourite. The piece at the end is so beautiful.

That last part where she just played the instrument, was heavenly ❤
I hope you soon see the end of the war Ukraine 💔
I saw one of these at the Grammys 2022. This instrument is fascinating and to the People of Ukraine 🇺🇦 we stand with you.
What amazes me is how much this instrument was suppressed over it's history.
DAMN, THAT ORCHESTRA A CHOIR TOO, THEY CAN SING!!
This channel is aggressively underrated
Thanks! Glad you like it! :)
OMG--I've died, and I'm hearing angels sing and play now! Chudovo!

My Russian is really bad, we were using a translator who helped the conversation, but I edited them out to try to make it a bit more slick :)
