MY GODD... This is the first movie that i have watched in cinema on my 6th birthday back in 1991... I'm so happy and wanna cry at the same time...😭😭😭 I never thought that I would find this 😢
PS: I'm already 39 now and can't forget this movie... This was so nostalgic 😊

I love the twist of story till the end. The 1st half is from the dragonball anime and the 2nd half is creative story of this film. Good job Wu Tang director.

More like he was influenced by anicent Asian culture to form Dragon Ball. The original Monkey King was Hanuman in Hindusim and became Son WuKong (influenced Western King Kong film industry).

For as long as ive been alive, i can't believe ive never seen this movie,and just like what everyone else on here is saying, this is much better than dragon ball evolution.
I thought this movie was a fever dream when i saw it as a kid
The original taiwanese version run time was much shorter then the revamp now. Plus all the magic power, flying ships, Oolong bat transformation, nimbus, and the dragon were all pretty much practical effect and cartoon animated. And there are some scene that has been cut out in this edited version. Anyways props for editing and resolution of this film is pretty good but I still prefer the unedited version because I grew up watching that film back then. Thanks for sharing.
this film is a million times better than dragonball Evolution. it has the perfect amount of early 90s otaku kung fu cheese and it just a lot of fun to watch. i first saw this film a few weeks ago on amazon prime and fell in love with it. it's a timeless gem of Live action Dragonball.
This is certainly a lot more entertaining than Dragonball Evolution.

I remember watching this movie as a kid and really entertained by it. It's probably like a 100 times more faithful to the manga than anything hollywood has made. Heck even their master roshi was a huge sleazeball in this movie just like in the original dragon ball. Lol!

This was pretty bad ass they did a really great job animating the expressions and especially with grandpa and master roshi even if you hadn't watched dragon ball z you would think the characters look like this .
It's more like the first dragon ball episodes but in the first anime you didn't monkey king family related really mentioned as this one, even it have a monkey king grandpa and a character who looking like Zhu bai jie.
They remake this movie great. The picture quality is amazing. I recalled watching this back in 1991 on cassettes tape while the vcr channel jump lol.

Some of the dialogue is atrocious but some of the editing and the effects are pretty good. And the print looks HD

I've watched this classic on vhs almost 30 years ago. It's one of those "it's so bad, it's good" movies.
Now that's a good adaption of our beloved dragon ball , the design is good , the action is good and the events are somehow good but it's way better than dragon ball evolution , what's good in classic movies based on anime that the director is trying his best to mimic the anime into live action without destroying the franchise like tetsujin and death note
