@F-zero91maru The Bible says in Romans 10:9-13 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” in Ephesians 2:6-10 "And God raised us (the believers in Christ) up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." 1 John 2:22-23 "Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also." There will be people who heed these words, and those that will reject it. God is giving everyone a choice through His son Jesus Christ, to be made good through Him (His power, His words and way of living which He has made known) or to reject Him. But to reject Him is to choose the Devil. Judgment Day will come to all, believer and none-believer, but there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ - faith in Whom gets your name written in the Book of Life.

The part to where Car face ran Charlie over with the car, I was told He was supposed to be seen getting rammed by the car, as well pushed right off the pier, yet Don Bluth decided it would have been rather too disturbing for the G rating, always found that a little peculiar when I was a kid.
Yikes that is freaky as hell! Also did anyone notice at the end, just as Charlie is climbing up the neck of the skeleton, you can just barely hear the hellhound saying "You can never go back.." and "Charlie..." When I see the Demon's face giving a grin to Charlie, it reminded of Jafar disguised as an old man sitting in the dungeon giving a grin to Aladdin from Disney's 'Aladdin'.
Oh yeah, when Jafar was like "He who has the gold, makes the rules!", oh, and according to another source, when Charlie goes to Heaven, and He's elevated to the clock/watch department, He was supposed to say "damn that Carface, I'll kill Him!", which Bluth had edited out a tad, so instead You hear Him say "I've been murdered in the prime of My Life! ..that carface, I'll kill Him!", course the Secret of Nimh was rated G, and You hear Justin-leader of the rats whisper "Damn!" when Mrs.Brisby gets captured by one of the Farmers Children, used to rewind that as a kid just to make sure My younger Brother heard it.
I always got the impression that Charlie's nightmare wasn't necessarily a dream, and that it actually happened. After all, the same demon at 1:18 comes back at the end of the movie to take Charlie back to hell.
I'm thinking it was more along the lines of a prophetic vision he was given, perhaps the demon attempting to scare/ toy with Charlie about what would be in store for him.
Yea, I think this part right here was a vivid vision showing him what would happen and showing him where he would end up at if he did not change his ways. And later on when he does die the second time he does go to hell and experience everything that just happened right here. Thats the way I see it anyway.
@@scotthayes5933 Actually Charlie does end up going there, the Hellhound just allowed him to says his goodbyes one final time to Anne Marie before going back there, permanently. Then at the last minute he's rescued and earns his place back in Heaven once again, due to his sacrifice.

@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 Land Before Time originally had no dialogue like Fantasia, but then Steven Spielberg felt that dialogue would make more charming for kids.
All Dogs Go to Heaven has been one of favourite movies since I was a kid. I kind of forgot about it up until tonight where I found and started binging it on Netflix though. I got bored and searched fun facts and other related things when an article about the deleted hell scene came up and brought me here. Can’t say I remember seeing this as a kid but it definitely would’ve scared the hell out of me.
I like the cut version because all the demon says is "you can never go back". This makes him more scary, imo. It's one of those "less is more" things for me.
Thats incredible, so happy we finally got to see the extended version of this. They made the right decision not showing it to kids though, my god that Demon saying "Your now mine" would of given kids nightmares for months. I hope they find the scenes from The Land Before Time that they couldn't show.
I completely disagree. Kids love to be scared, and they can handle it. It always pays to treat kids with the credit they deserve and not talk down to them. I think cutting that was the WRONG thing to do, as it's patronizing. I know as a kid, my favorite part of EVERYTHING was trying to track down and see all the things that "they" didn't want me to.
1:18 What in the hell is that beast? I always assumed it was a mutated devil dragon but either way, that beast, AND the nightmare scene in particular, scared me as a kid and is still scary now. It's even more terrifying when we get to see these cut parts we never got to see before.
This still is, by far, one of the most absolutely terrifying memories of my childhood. And that was the TAMED DOWN VERSION!? I’ve NEVER seen these extra shots of the demon parts before...and they are pretty god damn scary and I’m in my 30s!!!! It wasn’t until YEARS later that I realized 1:51 “You can neverrrr gooo baaaack.” I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again, *”DON BLUTH DOES **_NOT_** FUCK AROUND.”*
in the song "let me be surprised", charlie says "That Carface I'll kill him." The original line was "Damn Carface I'll kill him." you can visibly see him say damn.
The Pomeranian Prince That's ironic, since in Secret of NIMH, Justin clearly says damn in the scene where Mrs. Brisby is caught by the farmer's son. It's not censored or anything.
Lann The Man I didn't see this part when I was a kid, but now that I'm 25 with RUclips, I think it's fucking awesome! And it gave me ideas for one of my novels.
I swear that in the original theatrical release it was there because I remember seeing this in theaters and hearing the demon dog speak and it creeped me out but then when I saw the video version an tv one it wasn't there and I was confused.
Thanks again, Don Bluth, for giving me further childhood scarring. First was Land Before Time, then this. Secret of Nimh, however, remains your magnum opus for trauma.
I don't understand why this was cut. They still used pretty much the whole scene. Why trim it down? You could say rating but the whole movie is intense for a G rating.
@@dexterbunco4212 yeah, it's funny how almost any animated film could get a G rating in the 80s and 90s (like this, and the Lion King which actually showed Mufasa's murder onscreen), and now it's completely gone the other way, and even films that are made for children and have pretty much no dark/disturbing/questionable content (for example, Frozen and the Secret Life of Pets) get a PG rating for something silly like "rude humor" or "mild action."
This was my favorite movie as a kid, I absolutely loved Charlie and felt deep connection to Anne Marie. But this scene was incredibly disturbing and stuck with me through my entire life. It's strange to look back on what was accepted in children's movies when I was a kid versus what there is today. "You can never come back, you can never come back..." is burned into my brain, I don't think I'll ever forget that line and the inflection even when I'm old and grey. -Danielle
I thought this scene was awesome as a kid. The existential dread part didn't even occur to me until I was 8 or 9. When I was little, I had a fascination with these sorts of nightmarish scenes with over-the-top visuals (and lava). I even tried to build the skeleton boat out of LEGO, but I didn't have enough pieces in the right colors to work with. Back then I thought the trippy scene from Grinch Night was the coolest thing ever. Also, this scene syncs up amazingly with the hell-banishment music from Hell Girl (I believe the track is titled "Jigoku Rock") if you start playing it when the watch explodes.
it really set up the weight for the final scene where charlie's spirit visits her, because you know the weight of whats in store for him when the demon calls out his name to "return"
diddo. I can see why others thought it was scary but I was always fascinated with that scene and though it was pretty awesome. loved the boat and the little demons jumping at him
HypnoGaming I bet if there was a Land Before Time parody of Charlie's Nightmare in All Dogs go to Heaven Littlefoot would be Charlie and the Hell Hound would be the Original Sharptooth the one who killed his mother.

1:24 Sweet mother of all things mother!! This sent so many chills down my spine that I dont even know where to begin. The eyes, those teeth, the way he says that, and that evil grin. Yeah I can see why they cut that part out.
@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 That would make Sharptooth sound awesome! What's ironic about that is that The Land Before Time is in a similar predicament as this film, where several scenes had to be cut because they were considered too frightening for kids. Mostly involving Sharptooth, and the kids in danger. Sadly these scenes except with some trailers and other footage are considered lost.
@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 Really? I never knew that. I wonder who they would've chosen to do his voice. A couple of other fun facts for it include Spielberg considering to cast Robin Williams as Petrie's voice, but his son insisted to have Will Ryan do it instead. You should thank the Lord that CGI in kids films hasn't gotten to the point that they can effectively pull this kind of stuff and that they're gearing towards more lighter humor nowadays. @@godzilla4189 I remember seeing that movie when it was first released (Land Before Time) and you actually saw Sharptooth kill Littlefoot's Mother (it was not just the shadows like you saw in the VHS release and TV versions they showed after that). It was pretty intense especially for the 80's!
0:53 I thought Little Foot's mom went to Hell and was made into a boat when I was a kid. I was like, "she was such a good mama dinosaur. What did she do to deserve this?"
They were wise to cut the footage down. Some of it is even frightening for adults. The extra footage would not have passed for a G rating at all. But then again, the subject of Hell is already disturbing enough for the G rating.
Shadow VA Carface would still be in hell, regardless. Maybe he would be able to torture Charlie all he wants AFTER the hellhound's through with Charlie. In that case, it would be insult to injury for Charlie.
My god. That was even WORSE. The movement and angles they cut out actually were panic inducing. This scene was always a horror fave but- damn. That would have given me nightmares!
I remember watching this movie quite a few times when I was a kid, and this used to be my favorite part. And to be honest, it still is, seeing that this is hands down the best scene in the movie in terms of these edgy visuals and the effort that Don Bluth's studio put into it's nicely detailed animation, and seeing this recently discovered uncut version of the scene makes it even better for me! Also, about the way the Devil dog is presented here compared to the way he was presented in the final shortened scene, I think it makes him more menacing in a way that seems like he should've been the main villain of the movie instead of the mobster dog Carface. In my opinion, that would've made the movie a bit more satisfying to me since few movies with Heaven/Hell elements seem to have the Devil as the lead bad guy. Don Bluth could've done this sort of thing earlier on during production on the movie, but that's only my personal point of view.
Umm, I don't know. I personally think the Hellhound *not* grinning or laughing and just having a kind of a disembodied voice makes him scarier than how he's here in the uncut version. I sort of like the idea that he's not presented as a driving force in the final version but rather a "matter-of-fact" presence reigning over doggie hell, like a force of nature or something, if you catch my drift. I think him laughing makes him more caricaturish, much like the evil cat devil in the sequel, which isn't half as scary. I like that the final version of the first film focuses more on the evil present in Carface and his mob, or "human evil", if you will. Carface is more of a sidekick in the sequel. The Hellhound feels more mysterious and thus scary in the final version. I actually saw the sequel first, so I was surprised how dark undertones the first film has and how Carface really is evil.
@@DarkDoge I would, but it either got lost in a move or sold in a garage sale years ago. Which I know, sounds convenient, but I actually miss the movie and wish we still had it.

This movie absolutely the most emotionally depressing tearjerking animated cinema to have ever been made to date as well as An American Tail: Fievel Goes West. The most emotionally heartbreaking live action film for children hands down is My Girl, I still cry tears I mean streams of tears when I watch My Girl. These were in my opinion the top tier/the top three movies for children that caused us the most emotionally heightened sense of woe, melancholy that we internalized during our childhood that still inhabits & fucks with our mind, soul & body today.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
1 John 2:22-23
"Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also."
There will be people who heed these words, and those that will reject it.

AuroraKnux the only copy was stolen from Don Bleuth's house.
The part to where Car face ran Charlie over with the car, I was told He was supposed to be seen getting rammed by the car, as well pushed right off the pier, yet Don Bluth decided it would have been rather too disturbing for the G rating, always found that a little peculiar when I was a kid.

i remember this scene scaring me as a kid...never knew there was more to it. thanks for uploading.
But Charlie does not end up in Hell, the Angel dog defeats the Hellhound. Hence the saying "Evil Never Wins".

Well there is an uncut scene from Land Before Time showing Sharptooth's battle with Littlefoot's mom.
While this whole thing is terrifying, I think the shot at 0:51 gets to me the most. Every time I see it, I feel like my heart drops to my stomach.

This film is actually ridiculously close to being rated R: its status as an animated film may very well be its lone saving grace.
Whenever I feel deeply guilty about something, I think of this moment.

I actually saw the sequel first, so I was surprised how dark undertones the first film has and how Carface really is evil.
i love how people are saying this isn't in the actual movie. it was in a VHS version. we had it when i was little. scared the crap out of me.

These were in my opinion the top tier/the top three movies for children that caused us the most emotionally heightened sense of woe, melancholy that we internalized during our childhood that still inhabits & fucks with our mind, soul & body today.
