Thomas is/was one of those really talented people that Germany did not really appreciated. If he woudl have lived in America he would been considered and celebrated as a super star. I always thought he was super special.

As the previous comment already mentioned, he actually moved to the US back then because he was so popular in Germany, he could barely go anywhere without being surrounded by people all the time.
