I cannot belive my ears.. There has not been a single instrument throught a mic in this mix, its all from midi.... And it sounds f''''''''''''''' awesome... Massive respect from here. Great great tone, and really good feel of the mix. 10/10
Not a fan of programmed guitars, but as a tool to be used if you're early in the game and you're wanting to learn some solid fundamentals of mixing heavy music, then by all means use them like Grimzee has here, and this is a great little vid to help the learning process for an overall mix. Cheers Grimzee.
Thanks Geoff! I 100% agree, real guitars that are recorded well will always sound better. But midi can be a useful tool for songwriting/demoing. Cheers!
Thanks man! I usually always program my drums from 110-117 or around that area. I find 127 tends to sound a bit overboard on most drum vst's. Same goes for guitar and bass!
@@KingCharles-o6z it pushes your signal into an invisible ceiling of clipping. So if you crank it you’ll be chopping off a bunch of the peaks of your wav form. I’ve been using flatline and gclip more than jst clip lately because I like seeing a visual representation of what is being clipped.

Thanks for the mix walkthrough!
It works better for me to learning more and more.
No problem man! Thanks for checking it out!
@@grimzee Can I ask you a question? Did you disable the Force Phase and RAW mode on Odin II?
@@highhorse5022 Hey man, I left the Force Phase as is but I always turn off raw mode for tighter guitars. Hope that helps!🤘
Underrated tut IMO
Thanks bro! Much appreciated 🙏
You fucking wizard 🧙♂️🤘, im blown away
Great! sounds really good. 👏👏👏
очень круто получилось! спасибо, что поделился опытом 🤗
incredible
Hi! Very cool sound. Share the settings of this session. ))
I love it! I was curious though, are you just slamming the velocities of all the notes of the drums and guitar to 100%?

@@grimzee Thanks very much! This all helped adjusting my metal template tremendously.
maannn this is insaneeeeeee
Does anyone have any templates made like this?
can you send the full project it will be very helpfull to us please
Hello! Bro, what plugins are installed on the Master? What did you mix with? The sound is simply amazing!!! I would be grateful if you answer...
How does JST clip work? I thought the trim clips and the main knob brings the whole thing up?
@@KingCharles-o6z The main knob is the clipper threshold knob and the trim knob is just an output gain control to my knowledge
@@grimzee so when your turn the big knob, what happens?

Great tut thanks! What was the outro song?! REALLY loved that vibe
Thanks man that is one of my original songs! It's called "Beneath" by Grimzee
@@grimzee thanks!! I’ll have that one on repeat today :)
HOW DO YOU CONTROL THE GAIN STAGGING THROUGHOUT ALL OF THIS? I STARTED FOLLOWING THESE STEPS AND STUFF GOT REALLY LOUD.
So should the kick and bass guitar basically match up in your opinion?
Yes if it's a breakdown then absolutely! Will help everything sound massive
What do you use music maker to run the Mjolnir drum vst?
