  • We always enjoy the local hikes in Colorado Springs, and Barr Trail to Barr Camp is one of our favs. We time it perfectly and walk right into a snow storm. So fun. In all my years hiking this trail I have never seen a moose. Today we see 5.

    So thankful to meet your parents. My Mom is 91 now and I make movies of my journeys to bring back to her. We have movie night and she just loves it. Barr Camp looks like great fun. When I make my way back there to Co I will hopefully do that trail also. Thanks you so much for sharing with us. You two are always so encouraging to me. Blessings, Teri Hope

    Beautiful hike in the snow but, super beautiful hike with your parents. I’ve always been jealous of people who are close with their dads. Mine was sort of a monster. You’re lucky.

    As you were telling the story I was thinking I bet she says ‘changing transmission fluid’… mine should probably be done, but doing research and talking to folks it seems that it can sometimes cause issues… but not doing it can also cause issues… isn’t that life …lol… I hope it all works out… Cool and inspirational to see Dad and Mom out on hiking trails !!!

    Instead of crawling under the truck looking for a transmission leak place a large piece of cardboard under the area where the transmission plug is located. Any drips or leakage of any kind will show up on the cardboard. It's just a bit easier on the knees and back.

    How the heck do you put 5 quarts too much? 🤨 that is so totally daft!
    I once went in for an oil change and the guy forgot to put the cap back on, I had oil spraying all over and everything under the hood was smoking. That was scary!
    Your parents are amazing Kristy! 😊🥰

    So sorry the shop did that. I had it happen at a Toyota dealership overfilling my crankcase. The truck ran funky and I even brought it back in. Something told me to check the oil and it was 2 quarts over. I made them document it and sign my service order stating they were responsible for any damage. You didn’t go that far so hopefully everything will be good. Don’t take your vehicle to quick change places! Get a good mechanic you trust and take it there for all your fluid changes.

  • @kkman30kVw
    @kkman30kVw Год назад

    Hurrah for the Shirahs moose -- a Colorado conservation success story! Maybe you don't have to do everything yourselves, just check the fluid level before leaving the mechanic? (~Similar to checking a restaurant take out order to make sure it's yours and they didn't miss anything.)

    That was a fun snowy hike.
    It is unacceptable for garage staff to over fill transmission fluid.
    Five Qts too much is ridiculous.

    Sorry about the transmission issue on the truck. Yes, years ago I took my little car at the time in for an oil change and the put way too much oil in. Not knowing anything about cars, way back then, I didn’t double check their work. The extra oil blew all the gaskets out in the engine and permanently damaged my beloved little car. Ever since, I’ve done all my own maintenance on everything I can and then double check those things I can’t do. Yes, it is sad, but if you want something done right, you do have to do it yourself.

  • @leroywalston671
    @leroywalston671 Год назад

    Just a bit of advice y’all, if you have a GM Dura Max ,take the dam thing to a GM Dealer. period ,ONLY GM vavoline not good ✅. Now your transmission (ALLISON) has exterior spin on filter, and a interior one , did you have them changed if not 😡

  • @kevinseversonandhisvizslas8287

    Never never go to quick lube businesses. If they don’t do something stupid like they did to your transmission fluid, they strip out the bolts in your oil pan. They are minimum wage short term high turnover jobs.
