Happy belated birthday!! It's always lovely to receive such thoughtful gifts :) It really lets you know that the people in your life pay attention to what you like and enjoy and is always a special thing I think
It’s so funny that you mention your way of playing the Lego games. We played them quite a lot and I simply couldn’t move on until I’d smashed all of the things that gave me coins/studs. My husband would be asking for help with a task or asking me where I was and you would just hear a crash of studs after me drop-kicking a plant pot or something 😂😂
I love the Lego games. But they embarrassingly are a bit hard for me and even with games I’ve been right through before I not only have to look up what to do but also I get stuck and can’t move on. So frustrating. I need to borrow a five year old.
Happy birthday Lucy! I recommend Sistersong by Lucy Holland. If the beautiful shiny cover doesn’t sell it: it’s about sisterhood, finding yourself, being yourself at all costs, making mistakes, being human in every possible way. With a pinch of magic and set in ancient Britain, I really think you’ll enjoy it. I’m planning to reread it and annotate the heck out of it, I read it last year and it still crosses my mind a lot!
Happy Birthday!!! 😀 I love cook books inspired by TV shows etc 👀 always a great excuse to throw a themed party too if you can be bothered! I hope you enjoy the book voucher ~ experience ~ I always find going into book shops is the best way to revive my book writing mojo bc I look at the shelves and think "one day that could be my name and my book" which feels weirdly vain to admit but it's the truth 🤷♀️
Book recs! Under the whispering door! It's honestly the best book I read last year, I cried for hours after finishing it but it was so lovely! That or house on the cerulean sea - TikTok did good on those recs and I will never stop recommending them now ❤️ Happy birthday Taurus friend! It's my 32nd tomorrow 🥳 Bloody Marys for me are like drinking cold alcoholic soup. Not my jam but you do you :p
Oh my goodness house on the cerulean sea and under the whispering door are probably both in top 5 books of all time which is saying a LOT. Also cemetery boys is amazing
for your book voucher, i think you would really enjoy "Get a Life, Chloe Brown" by Talia Hibbert. Chloe Brown definitely leads a Lorelai-adjacent lifestyle in how she is messy, she eats a lot of take-out and finds it troublesome to clean, how fucking funny she is; and she's got a bit of Rory is how she's wicked smart, a bit of a loner, and needs help from others to come out of her shell. and Chloe's love interest, Red, definitely reminds me of some of the best men from Gilmore Girls. on top of that, it's got some great representation is being about an English couple (as opposed to American), with Chloe being a fat Black girl who deals with fibromyalgia (one of the most common symptoms of that being chronic pain). as someone who is chronically ill, it really warmed my heart not only to see a chronically ill writer author this book, but to have someone else essentially (bc i dont know if Hibbert was inspired or not) see Gilmore Girls and relate aspects of their lifestyles to being chronically ill (like i too live on take-out because i'm too fatigued and in pain to want to cook, and Lorelai said "that's okay" and Hibbert just emphasized the point further). we love to see it anyway, the book about how Chloe almost dies and, in seeing her life flash before her very eyes, realizes her life has been very boring. and so she proceeds to write a Bucket List of ways to make herself more interesting, and one of those was moving out of her parents' place. in doing so, she meets Red, the handyman of her complex who has a leather jacket and a paint set, who she decides will be her helper as they work out a mutually beneficial deal and fruitlessly try ro ignore how attracted they are to the other person. it's very sweet(, it can get pretty steamy), i absolutely adored it, it's the first book of a trilogy if you want to read about Chloe's sisters also falling in love. also, the cover is so cute, i love the little doodle of her and Red lmao but, yes, i would highly recommend it to you, specifically. i hope you check it out, and whether you decide to read it or not, i hope you enjoy your soon-to-come book haul ♡
As a plus-size girl with some invisible health issues, who is introverted, nerdy and messy ( and also finds ready meals/minimal cooking the easiest solution), I will be looking out for this!
Thank you for sharing about this. I have fibromyalgia and have rarely found books with characters with it or another type of chronic illness like it. Adding it to my list! :)
You could try Still Life. Beautiful book, so moving and a good read. I would also recommend The Confessions of Frannie Langton. More hard going and brings up lots of topics but very well written and fantastic too. A vintage 1800 who done it type situation!
Love the video! Can’t beat treating yourself with some lovely shoes and hot water bottle. Love the productive timer concept too! Still need to see the show too! Gilmore girls cook book sounds amazing!
I buy myself birthday pressie too. My hubby never gets me what I ask for so I’ve learnt to just get things for myself. It avoids disappointment on the day 😁. Love the converse 🥰
Wonderful gifts Luv🥰 As for Bloody Mary love…YES. The best I’ve ever had…we drive over to New Orleans every now and then to shop and always go to Deanie’s restaurant in Buckhead. Their Bloody Marys are served in a huge schooner, with Cajun spices on the rim and full of hot olives, green beans and okra. (Where is that chef’s kiss emoji when you need it😂😂)
We are birthday twins, so this was fun to watch. I love Bloody Mary’s so very much. When you add pickles or little snacks on the side: such a win. Team Bloody Mary! This video gave me a ton of joy. The cookbook sounds like a blast! I think a video using it is a must. 💓
I never seem to see any cheap tickets pop up for it haha, which is usually how I decide which shows to go and see. Luckily the birthday angels blessed me!
Happy 31st gorgeous, glad you had the best day. Hope this year continues to bring you love, happiness and laughter because you deserve it. Also, the converse are stunning. I need them in my life 😍also your new channel art is incredible ❤️
