Great informative review, but you need to fit them better in your ear. The loop of the cord is actually supposed to be pressed against your cartilage...that's what actually anchors them in.
Even though I use my Jay bird x2 for music listening on my Pixel 2XL, I still want to get this just to try them out. I use my assistant alot so this could be a plus for me.
I've got the buds now, I've the same feeling, they're surprisingly light, they barely feel like they're there, they always feel like they're going to fall out, however they're surprisingly in there strong, After a (short, I'm not very active) run and a vicious shake of the head test, they've not fallen out. Opening the case, I tend to give the case a short squeeze on the top and it opens up easily, it's nice and smooth, I found 90% of the time putting the buds in the case, they fit first time, however I too had the same problem with sometimes it's a little loose, but a quick re-wrap put them back properly. Putting them round my neck worried me, I took them off for 5 minutes and hung them round my neck while in a meeting and I noticed that with some movement one bud was down at my stomach and the other touching my neck when I would've liked to see them even. Sometimes if I take them off, I can't easily tell the left from the right without a good look, however it's not a struggle, just flip them over and see the left and right. I would have also liked a small plug for the USB-C port as if I've got this in my bag, I don't want it getting damaged, small thought but it's a thought. Something I find overlooked but awesome is how the buds automatically connect and disconnect from my phone when placed in and removed from their case. Without having to do anything all I have to do is take the buds out of their pod and they're connected instantly (if my Bluetooth is on) and when I put them away they disconnect, something I'm sure apple airpods do too, however I've never experienced with basic bluetooth earphones before and think is cool. Edit: They also sound amazing. I wouldn't say there's tin sound, or too much bass, I think it's nice and even. - I've also taken and made a few phone-calls on them, they're amazing and people say they didn't even notice a difference between them and my phone when I asked if they could hear me. Sending texts is simple too, same as using the Google Assistant app.
I returned mine. Not at all what I expected. For one the cord is short. I think it should go to the back of your neck in case you run or just bend down and they fall out of your ears. If you take them off they should hang - they don't. They fall. Then when the phone rings you don't hear who's calling like the Plantronics earpiece. That should be available at this price point.
It's a good feature, however in my experience so far I've used between 10% & 20% volume where 10% seems too quiet and 20% seems too loud so I'm constantly turning it up and down. I can only seem to go up in increments of 10, I'd like to see increments of 5 perhaps. I've also found sometimes if I'd like to turn it up or down more than usual, say, 5 swipes, I'm more than likely to accidentally pause it which can be annoying haha, however they're still fantastic buds.
Just got the Pixel 2 and bought the Earbuds right after and they are by far the best earbuds ive ever had!! Amazing sound and the touch features are fantastic. Way to go Google!!!
It's not "necessary", however it's a nice feature, if you're on holiday for example, you might not want to keep handing a phone back and forth to talk to someone therefore you hand your phone to them and you can talk through the bud, and they can talk through the phone, while there's no difference to doing the same on the phone, it's a nice selling point for the buds to have that feature.
what is your definition of "wireless"? I have never had an issue spooling the cord..place buds in, wrap cord around once hook in.........smh?!?!? I'm not a fanboy of any company but i do hate bad reviews
Absolutely love the reviews done by this guy ..brilliant
gerrard Bhalanza really I could do better
then start a channel and do so
Assistant is actually useful unlike siri
Good review. Finally someone not hating and being so negative about the buds.

Very honest mini review. I like the style.
Is it weird that I'm watching this review while wearing my Pixel Buds....
Nice Barry Manilow II album over your right shoulder. Released in 1974 and double platinum. Big hit was Mandy. Great review, too!
Will they pair with the Bluetooth enabled iPod Nano?
What is the workaround you mentioned for using them with more than one device?
I'm curious as well
Hold down the button in the case to force pair with a device
But do you have to reinsert the buds in the case to do that?
Is the fit of the Pixel Buds similar to the Airpods?

Want the swiping to turn volume up/down on the Airpods

Would you recommend them to another pixel user ?
RIP SIRI
She's been resting since she was launched
does they connect with pixel book automatically????
Sudipta Modak i assume so, or relatively easily.
Honest question. Why is it necessary to have the pixel buds to get the translation feature? Why can’t you just speak to the phone directly?
It's not "necessary", however it's a nice feature, if you're on holiday for example, you might not want to keep handing a phone back and forth to talk to someone therefore you hand your phone to them and you can talk through the bud, and they can talk through the phone, while there's no difference to doing the same on the phone, it's a nice selling point for the buds to have that feature.
I don't think its apple vs google i think its apple on its own little world and google against everyone else.
Google is also making their own garden e.g pixel buds, pixel, home, TV, Chromecast etc
Good review
Good review, very informative. 🤘🏻

"Invoking Siri" 🙃
Lmao I thought they were going to fall but they didn't. That's a you thing lol.
they look pretty coolbut i would not buy them yet
Product is too buggy...
The design is a pull back
Personally I find they're the nicest I've seen and used in a while, it feels very "Material Design" which is Google's branding guidelines basically.
Air pods sounds better.
