Lovely gift from Barb. Can’t wait to see what you make with it. I like 🤩 the cowl you made for your friend. The pattern showed up nicely. Congratulations to the MAL winners!
Hi Lesley, love the makes. The poncho is so pretty and girly. Finished on black mitten today, but going to give me a couple of days before starting the next one. Barb, your bags are gorgeous. What a wonderful gesture sending you that all the way from Canada. Can't wait to see what you get in both your advent s A friend of mine is doing a spinning advent. She put a couple of bats (?) early in the year and separated them in to batches and had her husband bag them for her so she has no idea what she will be getting each day. Thought that was a great idea. Sadly I can't spin and don't have head space to learn at the moment. I do have this image of myself sitting at a wheel with my feet powering the spin and be all calm and cosy at front of the fire. We don't have a fire, I've never been calm and collected. Lol Congratulations to all your winners. Enjoy your winnings. Have a safe and restful December. We definitely need some singing!! I'll start a petition. 😂 Take care xxJane 🐑🌈🎄
Hi Jane. A bit of a rest between black mittens sounds necessary - give the eyes a rest. The home made spinning advent sounds a great idea. I love your image of spinning in front of the fire. I do have a fire, but have also never been calm and collected, and if the spinning wasn't going well, I'd be tempted to turn the wheel into fuel! The petition needs to be sent to "My Mate Mandy, Not Quite Enough Towers, Sussex" 🤣 Take very good care of yourselves xx
Thanks for the laughs! When I saw the post today I thought it was a bonus for the week before realizing this is the last Saturday of November already! It’s always good to see you and hear what you are creating. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Hi Les, Soo good to see you, as always!!! Your makes are always lovely. Your colors always look like they belong together!!! I am an ami maker in the needle work department. I have made a couple of sweaters, and was not impressed!!!.......operator error!!! I made a ton of shawls in every shape and size. I have given so many away and they seem to be multiplying in my cedar chest!!! lol!!! The yarn you spun is wonderful!!! Such a beautiful colorway!!! You have every reason to be pleased!!!! I am still working with the hundreds of succulents that my nephew has planted in my backyard. It absolutely looked like a succulent nursery!!! I want my backyard back, so it is up to me to do the cleanout......not sure that is how it should work, but that's how it is turning out!!! I am with you on the way I purchase yarn. I have so much stash, I rarely purchase yarn. I am still deciding what to do with the yarn I won almost a year ago. I think I am going to put it together with another yarn to make it a bit heavier.....It is so beautiful, I hate to make something I am not in love with!!! lol!!! Take care , have a wonderful week......The cowl is lovely!!! Cuddle that beautiful little diva for me, please~~
Hi Sharon. Lovely to hear from you. Knits do multiply in our cupboards , in my case it's because I wear the same 5, on a rota, and the rest get board. Happy "succulent sorting" - thanks as always, and huge licks and tail wags from Her Royal Highness xx
I normally lurk and enjoy your weekly and monthly podcasts. Felt strongly enough to comment re: Will miss the songs in your weekly Vlogmasses! What a wonderful generous boxed gift from Barb for you and to share. How exciting and im looking forward to watching the advent unwrappings. Loved the coloured accents on the little hooded poncho. Happy crafting ❤
Hi Audrey. Thank you for being here and lovely to hear from you. Sorry about the songs - but I have to be practical over timings. Barb's gift was so generous and thoughtful - I can't wait to get started. Thanks so much and take care xx
Hi Lesley. . for sharing your lovely makes. The cowl is a gorgeous colour and pattern. Simple but effective. I've managed to finish a pair of dk socks for my dad. Kept me sane over the past week. Going to frog another pair I was making during our hospital vigil . Too much sadness in them. We should be in York for the yarnfest, which is tomorrow . Home instead deciding on what project to pick up next. Have a good week. Take care. Xx
Hi Angela. Absolutely right to frog the socks that are sad - they served their purpose in the making, but now the yarn can go to something happy. Hope you are both able to have a bit of a restful reset. Take good care of yourselves xx
Thank you for my pattern gift - I will look through my favorites to select. I enjoy seeing your spinning results - not sure that I will ever do that. I look forward to watching/experiencing you opening your advent gift that you received. 🙂
It was great to share your joy at receiving Barb’s gift. I enjoyed your meet-up episode. I look forward to seeing the openings in advent. Thank you to both for sharing so I can watch and see something lovely and happy! Barb the bags are fab! I also like Lesleys description of collecting yarn so there is never enough of one-colour. I’m like that as I like to re-home yarn.😊
Hello, Lesley, love the colts in your spinning, can’t wait to see what you create. I like that running uphill cowl, I have added it to my list. Congratulations winners. What a thoughtful gift from Barb. Have a great week.
Loved all your makes. You’re so clever learning to spin. Congratulations to the winners. Enjoy your lovely prizes. Lovely as always catching up with you Lesley xx
What to say I love first? I want Barb to be MY friend! I’m sorry I’ve not entered your mal. Maybe December’s. I think the poncho is something I would have loved when I was little. And the scarf you made for your friend is sure to be a hit! I love the colors of both projects. And yay for Maryanne! 🎉🎉And your glasses are fantastic. 😎
Always great to see you. You’ll be missed during vlogmas but you need to take a well deserved break. I’m excited to see the sweater you are making with your advent. Stay well
I think your red jumper looks very nice on you. The little poncho is very sweet. It looks much nicer with stripes. I have a crochet blanket I'd like to start after my Christmas makes but now I'm thinking I could work on it for 10 minutes every morning before I leave for work and join in with your MAL. X
It was lovely catching up with you! I will try to knit a little bit on a pair of self striping socks for myself, every day in December. I am fortunate that our gift giving day for December was last Saturday, so I have a lot less to do from now on. It is snowy outside today, the dog loves it. And I am content to take him for a walk as long as it doesn't (freeze) rain.
This may interest you for your adventurers with your whirly whirly machine that you knit your hats on. Podcast “ Emily Smith” adds features and creates various garments with her Addie Sentro machine. 😊
I think your spinning looks really good so well done and a beautiful colour to knit up! I also love the cowl and immediately downloaded the pattern to make that really interesting design. Will miss your Christmas carols this year but looking forward as always to seeing you for Vlogmas. Take care x
👋 hi. I like your hand spun. I was practicing regularly… but then i went from doing quite well to over spinning again 🤦♀️. So i have stepped away for a bit (before i threw the wheel out the window!!! 😫) i shall have a fresh start at it again after the Christmas madness and i have time to relax. Hopefully 🤞🏼. I love that poncho. It’s soo cute. Baaa humbug Mandy….we shall all miss the singing 🎶. (Only joking, totally understand the lack of time) Lovely prizes and congratulations Mary Ann 👏👏. Hope you have a good week Lesley. Xx
Maybe the newest cardian from Creabea, Rebecca Clow would suit you for an Advent make? I am glad that you had a pleasant surprise and will have new yarny goodness to open during Advent. I hope your neice likes her poncho. I am madly working on a sweater request from my 4 yr old grandson of a sweater in Brillant blue with Navy mixed in... very specific. had to go out and buy suitable yarn for this request that can be washed in machine. it is not as soft as my fingering weight yarns, though.
Hi Susan. Someone has kindly given me that pattern - it's a beaut. Hope your grandson's sweater is going well. Funny how specific children can be. Thanks so much and take care xx
I love the yarn you spun and gifted me. I'm still waiting for it to tell me what it wants to be. That cowl looks like a very soothing project; might even work with yours?? Thank you for doing your weekly sessions in December as a variation of Vlogmas. I look forward to it, with or without some singing. Have a great month and remember to take time for YOU as well. HUgs
Your spinning is absolutely gorgeous. The color is lovely and the blending is to die for. The poncho for your great niece is adorable as well.
Thanks Johanna - I was so pleased with the spin. Hope you are well. Xx
Lovely gift from Barb. Can’t wait to see what you make with it. I like 🤩 the cowl you made for your friend. The pattern showed up nicely. Congratulations to the MAL winners!
Thanks Norma. I am very excited to get started on the advent. Thanks for being here and hope all is well xx
Love the yarn you spun. The colors definitely have the wow factor. Can’t wait to see what you knit with it.
Thanks Karen. I'm wondering about a hat or cowl - something that uses the yarn on its own.
Thanks so much and take care xx
What a lovely, generous surprise gift from Barbara. And I think the cowl looks great in that yarn. It suits the variegation really well. 😍
Thanks Ann xx
The cowl was a fun and quick knit - I will def make another xx

Hope your Dad feels better soon. Older parents cause worries at times. So difficult to know what to do at times. Hugs.

Hi. Thanks so much - I am wondering what to do with the yarn - it is currently "marinading".
Hope all is well and take care xx
Well done on your latest spinning! I love the colors and the way they run through, if that makes sense.
It does make sense - thanks so much. Hope all us well xx

Hiya. Sorry you were having a difficult day. I hope that things have eased a little. Take very good care xx
You made some gorgeous yarn!

Did you say "Arsenal" when you coughed?!?😂😂😂
What fun advents you have!❤
I did - it's an old TV joke.
