Welcome to the “Not Quite Enough Yarn” Podcast.
My name is Lesley. This is the story of my attempt at working my way through the stash, but without enough of each single colour to make a sweater.
Thanks so much for watching. Please feel free to add any thoughts, queries or questions to the comments box below.
    Ravelry.com and Instagram usernames: knittingordeath
    Email: notquiteenoughyarn@gmail.com
My Tech Editing Services are available: evenbetterpatt... or email evenbetterpatterns@gmail.com
The “Modification MAL” will run until Sept 2024
Works in progress allowed if started no earlier than Christmas Eve (24th December) 2023.
Prizes will be drawn quarterly from posts on this thread. Each quarter there will be a physical prize (probably yarn), from a post with a picture, and a pattern prize (up to US$15) for a post without a picture.
At the beginning of October a grand prize will be drawn - the winning entry must be a picture of a Finished Object.
Please be a subscriber to the Podcast: / @notquiteenoughyarn
To be eligible to win a prize.
Prizes will be announced on the podcast and must be claimed by the 25th of the following month.
    What crafts are involved?
All types of knitting or crochet.
    All project types are eligible.
    What counts as modification?
    • Pattern creation - if you design your own patterns, please feel free to include them here.
    • Change of structure/dimensions - eg, making something shorter, longer, wider etc.
    • Change in construction - eg adding a different heel type, working a pattern in the round when it was written for flat, changing the neckline, making a sweater into a cardigan, adding shaping or darts, etc.
    • Including patterns which change gauge - eg cables or colourwork, where modifications are needed to keep the garment size the same.
Good luck and please get in contact if there are any queries.

Hi Lesley. The cushions made from your dad's clothes will be treasured. Your handspun mitred shawl looked super cosy.
We've had a beautiful sunny day, and I've managed to sit out in the garden and test run the new furniture.
Have a good bank holiday. Take care. Xx

Love your finished shawl and the edging is perfect for the shawl. I hope the grandkids will cherish the memory cushions you made for them. I have one of my dad’s shirts. He passed away in 2005.

Oh my, you brought back some memories - when we were kids we would "help" with the ironing and always started with flat things, mostly our dad's handkerchiefs. Like your dad, he always carried a cloth hankie with him, and sometimes they were monogrammed. Thanks for the smile. The pillows are such a lovely idea - what a wonderful keepsake.

Your HobNob pillows are so sweet; they are a hug from your dad. I love your wrap from your hand-spun yarn; the colors and pattern are gorgeous. I am plodding along knitting an Artus shawl. It is quite a a project as I have never done mosaic knitting, and a challenge especially when a hot flash and 80-degree weather converge…not so much fun. Cheers!

As you talked about plying the yarn for your next cardigan, I was trying to separate 2 strands of 4ply used in the yellow jumper Mom has ripped out for me. It's taking ages 🙄
I'd already decided that a smaller, slightly fitted cardigan would be perfect using just one strand so I'm keen to see what your research for an alternative to the Magpie turns up 😁

Hi Anne. Unplying yarn is certainly slower than plying it! I'm thinking of trying the "Turtle Dove Cardigan" by Melissa Clulow - www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/turtle-dove-cardigan - it's a similar gauge, but a different kind of tailoring. I will just keep an eye as it says it has "deep raglans" - in larger sizes, that can mean round about the knees!
Hope all is well. Thanks and take care xx

@@NotQuiteEnoughYarn thanks Lesley, I'll have a look at the various projects others have made too. It does look like a useful piece xx
