I’ve fallen victim. I didn’t grow up with technology only when I was 14 which was in 2014 is when I started playing videos games and using my phone a lot. Even with all this I still make plenty of time for hiking, exploring, and other social stuff. It really depends on how you are doing in life. If you’re depressed, the internet is all you need to cope with it. It’s an escape. A very addicting and unhealthy one. Parents have a huge play on this as well. Once you’ve had a taste of this lifestyle your parents hardest effort won’t stop you. I try to keep my siblings under control when using their phones too much as the older sibling and that I know how addicting it can be.
"I wouldn't have friends if I didn't have snapchat or Instagram" that is just sad we need to engage each other more I say hi to random people and ask them how their doing it's hard to do sometimes but honestly it's made my day and made others it's nice to know someone cares even if it's for a second we all forget we are in the same place.

If your child is 3 and they have a phone your a bad parent. Technology is not to blame. Like tf "my daughter is 3 and all she does is swipe"
also if you give an example with teenagers you can also argue that they have social lives in school so having your teen be limited is also bad for their health

Yea it's problem now because you didn't want to take Timmy camping or fishing, no you let the internet babysit him. It's parents fault for not teaching them that part of life to begin with if you don't they will become weak in a different aspect of life.

I remember about ten years ago sitting in the local mall with my up to date free cell phone as the family spent my paycheck. The mothers and their children would walk around me as I sat and entered with my wand costly commands like if I was from another planet. When my monthly bill hit over $300.00 I "sprinted" over to my cellphone carrier and canceled my service, penalty, fines and all.
They wouldn't complain about the kid playing Fortnite if he became an esport player

We turn the internet off at 10 PM, and I take my son's controller to help during the school week. My daughter, turns off at night she is 19, so I don't have to get on her case. Start with turning off the internet at night.

I’m gonna be honest, it’s not really gen z’s fault (my own generation) that we have all this technology handed to us. We happened to be born into it, yet everyone blames the whole fact that we use it as a whole on us. We didn’t create it. We didn’t ask for it. It happened to fall at our generation. And yes, this might just be the first time in history kids can say parents don’t know how it is because of this.
