    if the sun is behind you like you suggest, then the ghost blind will cast a huge shadow on the ground in front of the blind....

    I bought one in 2015. Works good for turkeys. Which is to say it'll work on anything.

      I want one for turkeys. Will the concealment work in a harvested cornfield? Several smart public land toms find my normal blind sketchy

      @@sengx Yes it should. Just remember to clean it with glass cleaner every now and then to avoid it “fogging up” on you on a chilly morning when you use it after it rode in a warm truck to where you hunt. Ask me how I know…….

      @@sengx Yea on the mirror side. If it fogs up, you’re gonna stick out like a turd in a punch bowl to some Toms. Might not be an issue where you live, but I’m down south. Temperature swings here can go from mid 40s to mid/upper 70s in a few hours. Plus, it’s already humid as shit down here, so there’s that.

    I didn’t realize these things were still around. I remember when they first came out….15 or 20 years ago?…..that it seemed like a pretty good idea but I never tried one. Good luck to you and hope you can video yourself shooting a deer from it.

      @Russell Langworthy - interesting that this idea/product has been around for a while. Was it always under the same brand and company? Thanks for checking out our channel and videos.

      If you can find the adhesive plastic film mirror surface, then it is only that stuck onto Corflute board (Coroplast in the US) which is typical sign making board. wouldn't be hard to make yourself depending on where you are and sourcing materials. Heck of a lot cheaper as Corflute gets used and thrown away, so should be easier to find.

  • @matts7975
    @matts7975 8 месяцев назад +1

    How easy would it be to shatter/break it? I don’t know what the actual material is.

      @stonehillcabin  8 месяцев назад +2

      @matts7975 - thanks for watching the video. It would actually be really hard for it shatter. It's more like mirror-y plexiglass than anything else. It could be dropped on the ground without worrying as well.

      I just saw this video and explains it all. It is made from Corflute (Coroplast in the US. fluted plastic is what they call it in the video). we call it corflute in Australia - typically used for advertising signs like a real estate sign. If you can find the adhesive plastic mirror material, it would be easy to make.

    Conceptually it's amazing to me. Always was. The bulkiness was a deal breaker for me. Not to mention the cost. For anyone that uses these effectively that's great. They are just not for me.

      @@stonehillcabin A leafy suit and chair with some camo netting tucked in my pack. I honestly don't use the netting much. The chair is the most important part for me. I have to be comfortable to sit still. The Millenium G100 chair I rigged with the full XOP treestand harness ( the one with shoulder straps and a belt) is gold to me. that whole rig ran $275 which is ridiculous but I expect it to last pretty much forever. Very quick and easy to setup the way I have it rigged. The chair is the best so far that I have found. Dead silent swivel, comfortable and no creaking if you shift your weight. Adjustable from 13" to I think 20". I pretty much use it at the 13" height. There is a product out there called the Waldrop Pack seat. That has been on my radar to try. It does not look as comfortable as the G100, doesn't swivel but it' runs a bit lighter and is less bulky. Pricey too. For a short 2 hour sit i think i could make use if it. Another item on my radar to replace the camo netting is by Nukem. They have two sizes. It's basically a small popup blind that just gives you something to hide behind. Quick setup and light. Interesting product. I never tried a two panel blind. There are a bunch out there. Primos has one if you never saw one. I think Numem's idea makes more sense due to it's shape. Ground hunting is alot of fun. Stay well and stay safe out there!

    There’s nothing new under the sun. We talked about precisely this idea nearly forty years ago, and arrived at the conclusion that it was far too reflective for total woodland efficiency, and it’s yet another thing to carry. I’ve found that old-school minimalism continues to work since it’s a solution without a problem-the “secret “ is to be still and know how to move without being detected, and if you have to whizz, do everything slowly.

      @Chris Kourliourod - you are the 2nd person I've heard from today about this being around 15+ years ago. Apparently it's making a comeback! Agree with you though.....be still regardless, and know which way the wind is blowing. Thanks for watching the video/channel!
