When planning your Great Allegheny Passage trip from Pittsburgh to Washington DC, getting out of Pittsburgh can be challenging and no one wants to start a trip getting lost. Watch this short video and you will learn how to safely stay on the GAP trail as you leave The Point at Point State Park and head East. The official GAP route is show in this video. This video is the first part and will take you to the South Side just after you cross over the Monongahela River on the Hot Metal Bridge.

This is super helpful! This section of the trail can be super confusing! Thank you!
A new video is in the works to update the trail upgrades that were finished last fall. It is easier and safer to leave point state park now, but the rest of the trail is the same. Glad you like these!
Awesome, thanks so much!
Thank you
Thank, helpful. Plan to go in the next week or so.
Enjoy the ride! Glad you found these helpful. The trail remediation near the point in Pittsburgh should be open in a week (or so).
excellent, thanks!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
Good information! Is the path well marked?
Thanks! The path is marked but in some areas not as well or easy to see at some intersections. Part of the reason to make this video is to help people prepare and not get turned around or lost.
@@railtrailbike Thanks! I'll be doing this very ride in July.
